Actiongirl with our club we do a warm up easy jog then some high skips. Sometimes we do drills where you do jumping squats over low hurdles or hopping exercises.

I do press ups from the knee, originally I was intending on doing the full press up until an excellent runner I know told me she does knee push ups so I just increased the number and speed gradually instead.

FestiveChopinLizt · 18/12/2014 20:59

It's nice to talk about this stuff with you lot on here Grin

In RL most of my friends just think I'm insane for running at all...

actiongirl1978 · 19/12/2014 08:06

Festive, I know what you mean. My husband doesn't exercise and I think I bore him rigid with all my geeky facts! He gets how obsessed I am though, the other week he forgot to leave the office in time for me to go out in the evening and when he got home he had bought me a running magazine at the station as an apology!

cinnamongreyhound · 19/12/2014 08:26

A very muddy 4 miles from me in the dark this morning. Woke up feeling a bit dizzy but didn't want to let my friend down. Felt fine while running but feeling quite crampy, nauseous and just generally not right now :(

Rest up cinnamon.

Have 5.3 miles to add to make 520.3.

Am parkrunning at the weekend. Then on Sunday have a 10 mile practice run with my run club.

emummy · 19/12/2014 13:04

Hope you feel better after a rest cinnamon.
2.6 from me today in the woods, lovely sunshine but a chilly wind straight from the Cairngorms I think!
So 522.9

BlueChampagne · 19/12/2014 15:11

Hope you feel better soon cinnamon.

20.9 for me this week taking us to 543.8. Not likely to do much over Christmas hols though!

FestiveChopinLizt · 19/12/2014 15:14

Cinnamon, try to take it easy and listen to your body Thanks

Anyone planning on a festive parkrun tomorrow? I think I'm going as ds1wants to try for the first time and wear a Santa hat. He'll probably beat dd1 and me as he is young, skinny and springy although he hasn't trained at all Grin

Anglaise1 · 19/12/2014 18:18

13 miles from me this afternoon, the last 8 miles it poured with rain so the dog and I got very wet. But as I'll be doing nothing on the ferry all day tomorrow I wanted to do a good long run.
FCL Once I'm warmed up my knee hurts less and the faster I run, the less it hurts, so it is a great incentive to go as fast as possible Grin
Hope you feel better soon, CinnamonFlowers

cinnamongreyhound · 19/12/2014 18:22

Thank you all, probably tmi but I spent some time on the toilet and I felt much better afterwards. Got hungry about 11.30 so knew that I was better! Hope it's not going to be recurring as one of the playgroup ladies was sick yesterday pm and overnight :(

10.55 from me makes the total 567.35

does anyone use anything like this for running:
www.sportsshoes.com/product/sau2363/saucony-powerknit-lt-arm-warmers/

Im thinking about a short sleeved t shirt with arm warmers that I can take off when I get hot rather than a long sleeved top.
Or would the arm warmers just be too tight and annoyingConfused

actiongirl1978 · 19/12/2014 19:29

Adding a mile from my gym warm up.

Suzanne I reckon that those arm warmers would irritate, the top seam would never feel right and if you are wearing a tshirt there would be a weird cold gap!

Cinnamon, I am glad you feel better and are eating again, that is always a sure sign when your appetite returns!

568.35

Suzannewithaplan · 19/12/2014 19:38

hmm, you could be right, perhaps I could just customise an existing long sleeve top so that the sleeves were attached with velcro, or maybe little poppers?
I'm very into customizing clothes and I like sewing:o

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/12/2014 20:31

4.9 miles to make 573.25. Not very speedy, as I was dodging the crowds in Hyde Park for most of it. Lots of runners out in Central London at lunchtime today!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 19/12/2014 20:34

Ahhh, this is why I saw some runners with numbers on their shirts.

cinnamongreyhound · 19/12/2014 23:34

You can get tops with zip off sleeves I believe.

Suzannewithaplan · 19/12/2014 23:36

thanks Cinnamon, I've not come across any yet but if you say such a thing exists I'll keep on looking!

cinnamongreyhound · 19/12/2014 23:38

Will ask my friend tomorrow I'm sure she has one :)

emummy · 20/12/2014 08:04

Suzanne not sure about tops but Ronhill do a light jacket with sleeves that zip off. It's the Ronhill vizion rip zip.

FestiveChopinLizt · 20/12/2014 11:10

576.35 with my 3.1 parkrun today.

Ds completed his first 5k, dd and I got pbs I think although official times not out yet. Lots of fancy dress and good atmosphere.

cinnamongreyhound · 20/12/2014 13:15

My parkrun to add too so 579.45

FestiveChopinLizt · 20/12/2014 13:27

Glad you're ok again cinnamon.

HalleLouja · 20/12/2014 17:09

My parkrun makes 582.45. I think I need someone to chase to get below 27 minutes again. Didn't feel too bad at the end. Think I could PB again. Might have to be in the New Year now. Have Buntingford next weekend. Then feet and I both have Fred Hughes a few weeks later. Grin Wink

HalleLouja · 20/12/2014 17:09

Well done festive.
