Oh I forgot to post my parkrun! And I'll add my own miles this time, many thanks to those who've made up for my forgetfulness (ohone and emummy I think)

Lovely crisp cold parkrun this morning 365.1

Mitchy1nge · 13/12/2014 13:07

cuddles for cinnamon and bun glad you had a lovely run and will keep fingers crossed and sending warm wishes across the county Flowers

(feeling bit better especially since new running shoes arrived, will be great to use them soon!)

FestiveChopinLizt · 13/12/2014 13:33

Glad you are feeling better, Cinnamon and Mitchy. Nothing like new shoes to look forward to.

Parkrun from me this morning, was snowy and slippy but managed to keep up with dd and we finished one second apart just above 26 mins. Don't think she's impressed with my progress Wink

Then a little speed training whilst we were warm, followed by parkrun special-bacon roll and bottomless coffee.

4.2 makes total 369.3 miles.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 13/12/2014 15:35

((((cinnamon)))) lots of gentle hugs for you and baby Thanks

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 13/12/2014 15:36

And a parkrun to add 372.4

Anglaise1 · 13/12/2014 16:47

Big hugs to Cinnamon and baby it must be terribly worrying but stay strong and keep running.
Mitchy I hope the new shoes are good.
I did my 10km run today and was back to my normal time of 46m30s after my worst 10km time ever of 47:58 2 weeks ago. Maybe the 3lbs I lost since the last run helped too!
A girl I crossed the line with told me I had the strangest running style ever, with my legs and arms all over the place. I know it is awful, particularly my too relaxed arms, but it seems impossible to correct Confused
8.1 miles to add from me, (warm up and race).
380.5

Suzannewithaplan · 13/12/2014 17:22

isnt that rather a rude thing to say to someone Anglaise...unless you actually asked her for a critique?
Even if your running style is unorthodox it presumably works for you?

God knows what people think about me, if anyone says anything I shall lamp them (well, in my head I will:o)

Cinnamon you poor thing:( hoping for the best possible outcome for you all Flowers

HalleLouja · 13/12/2014 17:27

9 miles from here makes 389.5.

My longest run ever after a night out with run club. I even managed a strong finish up the hill. Am even pondering a spring half marathon...

Suzannewithaplan · 13/12/2014 17:31

9.82 miles from me today making the total 390.32

My new shoes turned up today too (courtesy of sportshoes.com 15% off) I wore them for todays run.

Felt great then I noticed a teeny bit of soreness on my achilies right at the end of the run, when I took them off I was a bit surprised that both ankles were bleeding.
I guess it was a bit dumb to wear new shoes for a longer run, with out socks, I probably should have left the instep in so that the fit was more snug.
Oh well you live and learnBlush

I consulted dr googlesearch and she says I need 'rocktape' never heard of it before but it looks like a handy thing to have:o

Suzannewithaplan · 13/12/2014 17:32

cross posted Hallelouja!
the revised total is 399.32

FestiveChopinLizt · 13/12/2014 17:39

Anglaise -You can be my trainer with times like that!

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 13/12/2014 18:07

The longest run ive ever done suzanne was 12 miles in the summer (before I bottled out of an autumn half) and I decided to wear the sweaty betty wicking shirts my sis had got me for my birthday.

Worst. Idea. Ever.

I chaffed from about 3 miles in.

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 13/12/2014 18:08

*shorts

Anglaise1 · 13/12/2014 18:13

Suzanne she said it in a nice way, after congratulating me on my finish and thanking me for competing with her (there weren't any other women in the vicinity). She isn't the first person to tell me and won't be the last Grin
Festive I still haven't improved from last year - a girl I beat last year ran in 44 minutes (but she is over 12 years younger, that's my excuse!)

Suzannewithaplan · 13/12/2014 18:36

Onthethursday:( Shock @ 9 miles of chaffing

OK Anglaise Wink
(even so, couldn't she have said something like 'idiosyncratic'....'strange' always seems a tad pejorative to meConfused)

Mitchy1nge · 13/12/2014 18:50

Suzanne - I've got some rock tape, but any kt tape should do it unless you will be swimming (think rock tape is more pool-proof than some)

it's a handy external ligament (or tendon!) my left achilles likes the help when I run off road, while my right calf appreciates it when we do road work

need to find a long path with a bumpy slippery muddy verge to run along with each side on the surface it prefers!

Suzannewithaplan · 13/12/2014 21:19

thanks for the tips Mitchy:)
I just came across it when looking for something to protect the heel blisters, I've heard of 'taping' but didn't know when it was all about until today!

Mitchy1nge · 13/12/2014 21:28

oh the tape is so helpful! But only ever take it off in water!

I swear by balega enduro socks for longer runs

emummy · 13/12/2014 21:39

Do that half-marathon HalleLouja I'm doing one, We can suffer together!

karatekimmi · 13/12/2014 22:38

Fingers crossed for you cinnamon keep looking after yourself and cinnamonbun

karatekimmi · 13/12/2014 22:41

Our parkrun was cancelled due to slippy surfaces (after last week I can understand why) but it's the local 10k tomorrow so I'm looking forward to that.

Suzannewithaplan · 13/12/2014 23:06

thanks again Mitchy, any sensible person would get proper running socks, I'd better get my act together and get the right kit!

emummy · 14/12/2014 10:38

7.3 nice slow miles this morning, so that's 406.62

cinnamongreyhound · 14/12/2014 10:50

Been out with the canicross club this morning as dh had to go to work so no cross country for me :( had a lovely, if very fresh, run which was shorter than expected so only 3 miles to add 409.62

Thank you all for your kind words, trying to stay positive and with every day I'm getting used to it all (well my brain is, my heart isn't quite a cooperative!)

more cuddles for cinnamon and baby bun

that sounds like a lovely start to the day, am absolutely desperate for fresh air but although back pain has all but vanished I am a bit feeble and dehydrated - feeling positive about leading my Slow Joggers on our little monday run in the morning though :)
