A gentle 8.75 from me in recoup today with the club following yesterday's race. It was a cold but beautiful sunny frosty morning, too nice not to run Smile

Fingers crossed for Jo Pavey

actiongirl1978 · 15/12/2014 13:03

I can add 5.3 miles, not ideal but better than nothing. I was visiting where I used to live so it was wonderful running on pavements and not worrying about the dark or being run over!

Suzanne, which shoes did you go with in the end?

423.7

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 15/12/2014 13:50

Hello all,
The dog and I did 4miles in exchange for DP taking DS out with him this afternoon Smile

I would describe it as a workmanlike performance.
427.7

Mitchy1nge · 15/12/2014 13:56

4.57 in separate outings with my slow joggers and a new runner

feel better for it mentally, not sure about bodily but nothing is any worse

revived older saucony kinvara (might be a 3 or even a 2?) feel like old friends

432.27

cinnamongreyhound · 15/12/2014 14:59

Glad your back allowed you to run Mitchy1inge!

Actiongirl I went for brooks glycerine, been out twice in them and very happy (except for the heel blisters, but I guess that was my fault for going without socksBlush)
I run along stony tracks quite a lot so the clouds probably wouldnt work for me, although I will be checking the website and reading reviews for future referenceWink

Did the exercise endorphin thing not help your back at all Mitchy?

Suzannewithaplan · 15/12/2014 16:04

10.18 from me today = 442.45

Mitchy1nge · 15/12/2014 16:08

Thanks cinnamon it was all a bit 'ow, impact' at first but is not as if my body isn't used to it!

I think I need a nice long steady one for that suzanne, maybe Friday. Not sure about proper running club tomorrow night, don't know if I will keep up.

Anglaise1 · 15/12/2014 17:00

6.1 from me and Sam the border collie, a little hour of running. Haven't done a long run for ages - at the moment the marathon plan is for speed work with longer outings from January. I might try and sneak one in Friday before I go to the UK for the weekend - with not much running possible as travelling most of the day Saturday and Monday.

karatekimmi · 16/12/2014 07:11

6.1 and 3 from me to make 457.65

I really enjoyed the 10k - it was basically the parkrun route, but it was good as we could see everyone and I got to do lots of cheering.

No marathons for me this year, I am in cinnamons running club - running for 2!! I'll be a bit busy in August to run!!

ScienceRocks · 16/12/2014 07:48

Congrats kimmi!

No running from me, alas. I have had my hands full with dd2 who came down with a very nasty tummy bug on Thursday night. She was better by Sunday, which was lucky as I succumbed to it at that stage and still am suffering.

cinnamongreyhound · 16/12/2014 08:26

Yay! Congratulations karatekimmi!! Have you entered any races, because I know you were talking about deciding not to stop entering because you were trying?

emummy · 16/12/2014 12:28

3.1 miles from me, a bit slow thanks to the ice! So total 460.75
Congratulations karatekimmi, great news!

karatekimmi · 16/12/2014 16:32

Thanks, I've got a 20 miler booked for March which I'll drop out of nearer the time, but luckily I haven't booked anything else next year yet. My DH kept asking your not doing the 10k in May are you at the club run yesterday!! Stupid boy!!

cinnamongreyhound · 16/12/2014 16:45

I did one 2 weeks ago at 22weeks karatekimmi, although you'll probably be a bit further along by may I guess?

actiongirl1978 · 16/12/2014 18:06

Congratulations kimmi!

I can add 2miles of intervals and then a load of hill runs for today. I am so tired and frankly it was a miracle I got out. Children finish school tomorrow lunch so that's my running limited to 6am or weekends for the next three weeks!

462.75

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 16/12/2014 18:46

Congrats kimmi!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 16/12/2014 19:24

Anglaise1 · 16/12/2014 19:54

Mitchy1nge · 16/12/2014 20:22

karatekimmi · 17/12/2014 06:06

Last time a midwife told me to stop running at an appointment, and then at the next one a different midwife said I should have carried on. I'm just going to keep going while I feel okay - but I'm
Not planning on stopping anytime soon Grin

I might do the 10k but I'll wait till its nearer to decide. Booked my DH in for it though!!

cinnamongreyhound · 17/12/2014 07:35

Boo to that midwife! We can support each other here when the people with their helpful opinions come to get us karatekimmi!

So looking forward to our ooh ahh run tonight with my club. I can't train normally but have arranged kids to go home early so I can go and run around a route designed by one of our coaches to take in all the local Christmas lights :) will be four very social miles (on the road which I never do!) with some people I haven't seen in a while which will be lovely! Then have normally doggy run with my friend Friday, parkrun Saturday, timekeeping at our club 10k time trial straight after and one the parkrun RD's annual mincepie run Sunday morning. With two Christmas dinners and an engagement party squeezed in that weekend too!

3 from me last night, had a bad back from wrapping hunched over yesterday. Cured by a very hot bath.

Congrats karate! It's lovely to 'know' people who are expecting; all my RL friends are past that stage now.

Total 475.75
