feet for your feet

Hope it works!

ThursdayLast · 30/11/2014 16:51

There's loads and loads there that look quite fun.
We were thinking sparkly hot pants over running leggings too Grin

feetheart · 30/11/2014 16:56

Oh wow, so much choice. The are FAB :o

emummy · 30/11/2014 17:21

Dd2 has just done her first cross country run, on a beautiful day at Knockburn Loch. She's 9, running in the under 11s one mile race and came 8th! She's so proud of herself and I'm pretty proud too - didn't know she could run that fast! Wee soul, she nearly collapsed at the end, she was exhausted. Waiting on results for official time but it doesn't really matter, it was a great day out.

actiongirl1978 · 30/11/2014 18:06

emummy, you must be so proud!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 30/11/2014 18:50

Hello runners

I haven't run all week Smile

I have just registered DS1 for next week's Bedford HM, so it will be a family affair nightmare.

DH - will be running his first HM for almost 2 years (and first serious running since injury/big knee surgery last year). His training has consisted of about 8-9 miles once a week for the last couple of months.

DS1 - has run one HM previously, coming home in 2 hours. Relying on youth and rugby training to get him round.

Me - I appear to have been tapering since my last HM (in June). I will get round somehow Smile.

Who else is doing it? feet you were thinking about it, and there is another poster who said they were doing it but it was a while ago and I can't remember who it was.

feetheart · 30/11/2014 22:19

Lots of people from my club are doing it Ohone but I had to choose between Bedford half or cross country with the club last week - I went for a wet, muddy run round some fields in the rain, possibly not the best choice :o

ScienceRocks · 01/12/2014 10:14

After a week that conspired against me running, I have done three miles this morning accompanied by my lovely new gps watch!

So am I starting the month?

Total is 3miles!

emummy · 01/12/2014 12:49

Well done sciencerocks!
3.1 from me, went out with dh who's doing c25k, we were doing 10min runs. He's fast! I think he should slow down , he insists he's fine, but he doesn't hear himself panting and blowing! Maybe I'm just jealous coz I'm so slow! I can run for 90 minutes at a time tho!

emummy · 01/12/2014 12:49

Story, total 6.1

emummy · 01/12/2014 12:50

Story?! Sorry I meant!

Suzannewithaplan · 01/12/2014 14:50

6.37 from me today bringing the Dec total to 12.47

Mitchy1nge · 01/12/2014 18:27

just 2 muddy miles from me (everything seems to be in working order so back to running club tomorrow night and also I must must must make it to a cross country training session before the championships on Jan 4th Shock)

14.47

Mitchy1nge · 01/12/2014 19:04

do you lot/general people reverse taper, just sort of creep back up to whatever their maintenance mileage is?

feetheart · 01/12/2014 21:53

Mitchy - I tend to just potter along, I probably do less the week or so after a long race but that's usually because I'm knackered :)

emummy - well done to your DD. DS may have his first cross country this w/e - I'm a bit vague about it. He's 9 too and my parkrun buddy :)

I can add 4.7miles from a run with the club tonight - these seem to be getting faster by the week and I did struggle during the second half tonight. Not surprised when I saw the time!

19.17

karatekimmi · 01/12/2014 22:09

3.6 miles to add from me, club run. I

18.07

karatekimmi · 02/12/2014 06:54

22.77 sorry cross post!!

cinnamongreyhound · 02/12/2014 09:46

I was keeping my long run around 8 miles before I got pregnant Mitchy1inge, mainly because I had time to do it and it was a comfortable distance. I think it depends what you're planning in the next couple of months :)

3.6 miles with intervals in the chilly sunshine. Hadn't done intervals for 4 weeks and it felt like it!

26.37

Mitchy1nge · 02/12/2014 12:15

nice run in the drizzle this morning with groom, she is finding it a bit easier I think

29.37

have a couple of months until next half so will just do whatever during the week and long run 9, 10, 11, 12 then repeat but do the second set a tiny bit faster I think, then taper

Suzannewithaplan · 02/12/2014 19:17

I did half a mile today so 29.87

(just wanted to see what my heart rate was at a certain speed on the treadmill-trying to figure out VO2 max)

Mitchy1nge · 02/12/2014 19:46

4.26 with the joy of running up the same little hill a million times with my striders

how did you get on Suzanne?

34.13

Suzannewithaplan · 02/12/2014 19:57

do you mean with the heart rate Mitchy?

well, using this method www.brianmac.co.uk/vo2mile.htm
here I get a V02max of 50

obviously it's an inferred rather than a direct measurement, really I wanted to see if there was any change from the last time I did the test as I've been running more 'intensely' lately.

It's pretty much the same so maybe this is as fit as I get

Mitchy1nge · 02/12/2014 20:03

argh look at all those numbers though

we (me with help of my pt really) did some sort of aerobic capacity assessment on the rowing machine and I think some aspects of my results were quite dismal relative to the amount of running I do, will have a look tomorrow

Mitchy1nge · 02/12/2014 20:05

that sounds great though? 50?
