Hope your half went well Zombie I always think the worst bit is waiting around to start, once you off running, its straight forward!!

I think I'm going to do the Manchester marathon next year, April the 19th, although I still have a shot at a London place in the club ballot which is drawn on Saturday. I have entered a 20 miler in March so I am serious about it!!

This would need me to increase my mileage over the next few weeks, so I can launch into marathon training after Christmas.

14.2 miles from me this week.

hang on ...

karatekimmi · 23/11/2014 15:18

746.73 including bigbum's 3.1 miles

LaughingM · 23/11/2014 15:33

Wow karate best of luck with marathon training! Is it your first one?

Zombie I was thinking of you when I um-ed and ah-ed about going out in the pouring rain, I hope it went well!!

4.5 very wet and cold miles from me, plus 3.1 that I forgot to add from last weekend. Today's run had quite an exciting trail section in the middle which involved more hopping from one relatively dry patch to another and long jumping over puddles than actual running!

754.33

emummy · 23/11/2014 15:38

Sorry you are all getting rained on, it's been a beautiful sunny day in Aberdeenshire! Back holding up so 4.2 miles from me this morning.
758.53

Mitchy1nge · 23/11/2014 16:57

here for zombie's race report! hope was fun despite the weather?

good luck karate, have sketched out a plan for increasing my longest run by 1/2 a mile most weeks, dropping back now and then for recuperation and avoidance of overuse problems and should also be 20 mile ready by March

karatekimmi · 23/11/2014 17:02

yes, it would be my first, I'm just looking at training plans and trying to decide if it is doable!! A few others at my club are doing spring marathons (Brighton and London mainly) so there will be long runs organised on a sunday (easier to follow others and copy their training plan than having to do it all myself!!)

HalleLouja · 23/11/2014 17:57

Oh my god. Cross country. I have never got so wet, cold and muddy in my life. My bra was sodden with rain. It took ages to get warm. Will be doing it again I am sure.

763.5 is our new total.

Suzannewithaplan · 23/11/2014 20:18

I have five miles to add taking it to 768.5
(treadmill - but I did get wet cycling to the gym)

originalpiratematerial · 23/11/2014 20:52

3.2 rain-lashed miles from me, taking our total to 771.7.

zombiesheep · 23/11/2014 22:30

Hello everyone sorry I haven't updated soon!

It went fantastic! Loved every second of it despite the torrential rain and mud and wind. So much mud, my new shoes are ruined :o I've also never been so cold in my life.

However I did not stop to walk once which I am so proud of! Was aiming for 2hr 30 but managed to complete it in 2:06:06! So chuffed with myself :o

Thanks for all your tips, I did the counting up then counting down thing :o

I am so so so sore now though, every part of my body aches!

zombiesheep · 23/11/2014 22:30

sooner

LaughingM · 23/11/2014 22:54

Wow zombie! that's an amazing time and miles under your target, congratulations!!

Suzannewithaplan · 23/11/2014 23:01

absolutely brilliant zombie!!
(and without earphones Wink )

feetheart · 23/11/2014 23:05

A sodden cross country from me too (though a different one to Halle's inspite of our clubs being about 7 miles apart!)
Forgot my Garmin but it was 5 miles of wet, muddy, squelchy fields, hills, cow pats and a GIANT knee-high pond puddle twice. Tea and cake afterwards and a big roast pork dinner tonight almost made me feel human again but I ache in odd places Hmm

776.7

feetheart · 23/11/2014 23:09

X-posted Zombie, that is BRILLIANT. What a time :o
So glad you loved it too inspite of the weather.

Sleep well and be prepared for serious munchies tomorrow and walking like John Wayne. Stairs will not be your friend but Cake will. Enjoy the high :)

ScienceRocks · 23/11/2014 23:24

Well done zombie!

standingonlego · 23/11/2014 23:58

Awesome running zombie and feet - what a fabulous time zombie, hope you had lots of Cake to celebrate !

We are getting close to 800 miles on this November thread which is brilliant GrinSmile

CardiffUniversityNetballTeam · 24/11/2014 00:54

Well done Zombie! What a great time.

I managed 9.5 miles in the pouring rain this afternoon. Was absolutely drenched and covered in mud when I got home. My trainers are stuffed full of newspapers and drying out in the airing cupboard!
Just got in from a late shift at work hence the middle of the night posting!
Total is 786.2.

zombiesheep · 24/11/2014 07:04

Thanks everyone, you're all so lovely!

Definitely walking like John Wayne and definitely have serious munchies... And it's only 7am. Up early for uni so I know I'm going to be hungry all day!

Well done to everyone else who ran in yesterday's weather, it was truly horrific!

zombiesheep · 24/11/2014 07:06

feetheart I also ache in odd places... All down the sides of my belly button? I hurt a lot :o

Sorry for double post

feetheart · 24/11/2014 07:09

:o Zombie hope the glow of your achievement takes away some of the aches and don't forget to add every single one of your hard-earned miles to the total.

cinnamongreyhound · 24/11/2014 07:31

Well done zombiesheep, so glad you enjoyed it all!!

Mitchy1nge · 24/11/2014 10:47
