Yes do Mitchy1inge, my club hold a 10k every year so I can pass your details on to the RD of that and a friend of mine is involved in organising the gladi8tor :)

Had my scan today and we are going to have boy no3. He has an enlarged kidney which can right itself but can also require antibiotics and regular scans and possible surgery so I'm a bit stressed! Got another scan at 32weeks to keep and eye on how it's going.

Boys are ace Grin

ScienceRocks · 20/11/2014 17:54

Congrats cinnamon! My dd2 showed an enlarged kidney at my 20 week scan and had tests when she was born. All was well so it can sort itself out.

Mitchy1nge · 20/11/2014 20:37

congratulations cinnamon! (you have mail)

Ah cinnamon Thanks
I hope your little boy doesn't cause you much worry. Thank you for making us your ante natal thread!

TheBigBumTheory · 20/11/2014 21:45

A boy! Lovely-and hope all goes well and the kidney sorts itself out.

A bit of speed work with running club tonight, 4.1 miles.

originalpiratematerial · 20/11/2014 21:47

Congrats cinnamon! i have three boys Smile. Sorry to hear there's a bit of a worry, fingers crossed it all sorts itself out though!

LaughingM · 20/11/2014 21:49

Congratulations cinnamon Flowers

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/11/2014 09:05

Congratulations cinnamon try not to worry (easier said than done I know) x

4.2 miles this morning. When I asked the hotel staff where would be a good place to go for a run they all looked at me as if I were bonkers, but I got directions to the shore and ran along the waterfront and it was lovely seeing the sun come up over the Firth of Forth.

674.6

Mitchy1nge · 21/11/2014 11:48

8.3, own fault that there wasn't time for friend to complete the whole route (should have been about 11)

that will teach me to carb load with the mashed potato Grin

anyway she was faster today so that's promising, that's pretty much it for anything over 3 miles until the half next weekend

682.9

EdithDickie · 21/11/2014 12:59

Congratulations cinnamon, I hope that the next scan is reassuring.

Yesterday I ran at lunchtime - 3.2 miles - and also after work - 4 miles.

690.1

HalleLouja · 21/11/2014 14:24

4.3 miles from run club yesterday makes 694.4.

emummy · 21/11/2014 16:53

Hooray, finally got back out to run, back still stiff but a lot better. Did lots of stretching first, then took it easy, did 2.4 miles.
cinnamon congratulations! will keep fingers crossed that the kidney behaves itself!

So 696.8

Mitchy1nge · 21/11/2014 16:56

was wondering how your back has been emummy that sounds very encouraging

think have taken tapering a bit too seriously by decreasing mileage dramatically, how is it meant to go? is there a formula like for increasing?

am v fidgety

emummy · 21/11/2014 17:22

Don't know of any formula for tapering sadly! Maybe you could look up a couple of training plans for the distance you're doing and see what they have for the final week? I think the general principle is to do less mileage at less intensity, including a gentle run the day before the race. I'm sure somebody with more knowledge will give you a better answer though!

Mitchy1nge · 21/11/2014 17:51

good idea

have found a sample taper at the bottom of this page

I suppose you can't lose your running powers that quickly or easily can you

emummy · 21/11/2014 18:24

No, your running powers won't desert you don't worry! I did my second quickest ever 3k today after a week off and a gallbladder attack! You are super fit, you'll be fine

Suzannewithaplan · 21/11/2014 18:35

I have 5 miles to add so 699.4

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/11/2014 22:31

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/11/2014 22:32

Sorry - did not check link before I posted it. Let me try again.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/11/2014 22:34

I think this one works?

Mitchy1nge · 21/11/2014 22:58

Grin that's brilliant thanks! I love it!

ScienceRocks · 22/11/2014 10:58

Really wet underfoot so couldn't face a park run (my hips hurt a lot if I run on very uneven ground) and did intervals on the treadmill instead. 2.2miles but very very sweaty by the end.

New total 701.6miles.

HalleLouja · 22/11/2014 11:11

3.1 miles from me 704.9. A nice slowly paced park run. Was lush being able to breathe and chat and all.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 22/11/2014 11:21

708 with my slow parkrun this morning. I wasn't going to go, but am glad I did Smile
