New thread for park runners old and new. Who's running at home and away this weekend? Who's volunteering?

Brilliant Melanie.
I've had a few thoughts but haven't got them into any order yet. Need something about the dog runners and being passed by fast kids :)

FishandJam did a fabulous 'We're all Going on a Wolfrun' which is on the Wolef thread if anyone wants to have a look.

jchocchip · 23/09/2014 18:40

just ideas they dont scan: cones marking the finish straight, luminous marshalls vests, canada geese pooing on the path, a bandstand, start and finish flags and walkie talkies. adidas shirts for 100 club members

cinnamongreyhound · 23/09/2014 20:18

Just wanted to pass the message the family of Darryl Davis who died running the rnr Saturday have asked all parkrunners to wear their club vests to celebrate being part of a running club. He was a keen parkrunner and his wife is running at eaton park this Saturday wear their club t-shirt.

MelanieCheeks · 24/09/2014 07:23

Thanks jchcohchip, I'll work on those ideas. And the dogs a-barking and kids a-zooming.

Nice idea cinnamon, will do.

HalleLouja · 24/09/2014 15:02

Question has anyone taken part in a parkrun around Bournemouth. Am trying to decide between parkrun and Speed of Light 5k in Bournemouth.

standingonlego · 24/09/2014 21:16

I have done Bournemouth parkrun HalleLouja. Poole parkrun is also an option and a very busy fast flat course. I am assured both have cafe and cake.

I am not local though, did when visiting friends so someone may be along soon with a more informed opinion !

HalleLouja · 24/09/2014 21:20

Poole is probably too far to drag the family on a Saturday morning. There is one in New Forest too...

cinnamongreyhound · 25/09/2014 09:23

I have no idea I'm afraid.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/09/2014 13:31

Who's parkrunning tomorrow?

HalleLouja · 26/09/2014 13:44

Me!

MelanieCheeks · 26/09/2014 13:52

Home location tomorrow, then a 5k runningwithyourdog trail run in a forest on Sunday!

feetheart · 26/09/2014 14:37

Not me as I am working but may pop in to Bedford to cheer and eat cake (as job is 2 mins away but sadly there isn't enough time to run and shower before I start) Ohone - are you around?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 26/09/2014 20:42

feet you beat me to it! I am very much around tomorrow morning Smile See you about 9:45, same place as before?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 26/09/2014 20:43

(Of course you don't have to wait until then for your coffee and cake Grin)

Have you heard from blatherskite OhOneOhTwoOhThree? She hasn't posted on either thread for over a week, just wondered if she was ok?

ThursdayLast · 27/09/2014 10:23

Well spotted cinnamon now you mention I've missed blathers too.

I was lazy last week and didn't go (couldn't face the drive) and apparently missed a cow-based drama Grin
They were well behaved today though and I reckon my time was around 27.20ish.

Lots of rumours flying around about a new Cornish parkrun

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 27/09/2014 11:27

I saw Blathers on FB this morning Smile I know she has been quite busy in RL, but she was park running today Smile

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 27/09/2014 11:29

Nice to see you feet but sorry it was so brief.

I chugged around this morning, my legs were quite sore because my bike has had a flat tyre so I have been power walking to and from the station the last day or two. Then I got a stomach cramp and had to walk for a bit Blush. But I still beat everyone who stayed on their sofas this morning Grin

OP posts:
Blatherskite · 27/09/2014 11:57

I'm here! Aww that you missed me Blush

OhOne is right, this week has been quite busy and I'm quite worried that my weird blood thing is back as I'm constantly tired again so I've been a bit too dopey to think of much to write. Ran at Banbury's inaugural parkrun this morning and then have the Nottingham half tomorrow. Wish me luck as I think I'm going to need it! I'll hopefully be a bit quieter and a bit more with it next week.

cinnamongreyhound · 27/09/2014 16:41

Of course we did blatherskite Grin

I did my best home parkrun time since July today, still a slow 29:04 but I'm struggling with running in the mornings!

EdithDickie · 27/09/2014 18:55

New Cornish run Thursday?! Exciting! Any idea where?

Did Plym Valley Park Run today whilst hanging... Definitely not an amazing time but the same as I ran at the start of the month. So the increased fitness cancelled out the damage done by gin and sleep deprivation! Grin

ThursdayLast · 27/09/2014 20:04

Well done Edith I nearly passed out once at the 4k point with a hangover! I had to keep running to keep going Blush

Rumours suggest it will be near Helston though, so still far for me, even worse for you!

Maybe I could come visit you at Plym Valley one day...hmm...considering logistics

MelanieCheeks · 27/09/2014 20:32

Ooooh oooh, very happy with a 26:41 this morning - a whole minute better than last week, and in my all time top 5 times!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 27/09/2014 23:25

Well done Melanie - didn't you have a stress fracture a while ago? Brillaint recovery!

I am off away tomorrow morning until late Friday night - see you all at parkrun next Saturday morning Smile

OP posts:
EdithDickie · 27/09/2014 23:30

Oh gosh that's miles away!

Give me a shout if you're ever up for Plym Valley Smile
