Sorry jchocchip, I swooped in, posted about the parkrun kit and didn;t read back. Good to have you with us.

T-shirt looks good cinnamon Was just coming back to ask you for a quick course description for your parkrun. A friend is considering it for the weekend so I said I'd ask :)

No parkrun for me this weekend as I'm marshalling the Rock Solid Race. Scoping it out ready for next year's Wolefs Wink

cinnamongreyhound · 19/09/2014 14:37

Hmmm little bit of path, mostly sandy soil and forest paths. Two laps, starts at kids park through trees, out in open then turn left up the hill, right past mausoleum and left up to pond, first lap through trees back to start second lap continue up to the green in front of big house and finish on grass. More downhill than up but uphill is steeper and quite sandy if it hasn't rained recently. Very peaceful and quiet :)

jchocchip · 19/09/2014 15:40

Yay for your 50 shirt cinnamon looking good!

standingonlego · 19/09/2014 16:14

cinnamon i am very Envy but also so proud of all of us that have made it to the magic red box. The encouragement and sense of community on this thread is a big help to us all I think ! The red looks good on you :)

jchocchip waving back (and sending a big hug too). Lovely to have you back with us :)

I love parkrun....i must tell people about it every week without fail..."what you need to do is parkrun...." (was pitching it to someone in teh work canteen yesterday morning). I am missing it already and trying to work out how I can do it AND hockey tomorrow....even though I know tis impossible!

feetheart · 19/09/2014 20:37

HalleLouja - DS will be in a luminous orange top and I will be in my red and black WOLF run top (because I can :)) Hope to see you there.

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2014 08:36

Hi speedy question is Parkrun Juniors on a Daturday or Sunday or does it depend on which park? Thanks

MarshaBrady · 20/09/2014 08:39

Saturday I mean. Actually I think it's on Sunday.

HalleLouja · 20/09/2014 10:35

Feet just saw your post. I didn't see you but was not in a running mood. Grin No pb this week but got round in just over my PB I think.

I will will be there next week but not the two weeks after. I am away for one and resting before Herts 10k on the other....

CruCru · 20/09/2014 10:52

Woohoo! First ever Parkrun done! It was nice, I was worried it would be like PE at school.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 20/09/2014 11:12

Well done CruCru!

Disaster OhOneOhTwoOhThree! I went for a 10 to be a bit loose but it's really not! Should have ordered a 12 I think. Can't wait until next week when I can wear it at parkrun.

I ended up going down as my friend who's rd overslept. By the time is got there the volunteers had all sorted it but I had a chat with a few people and walked the doggies at the same time!

Goldendandelion · 20/09/2014 11:25

Well done CruCru. My 17 year old daughter did it for the first time today and says 'never again' lol.
We've started taking our younger children too. I tail ran with our 6 year old a couple of weeks ago, but he struggled and didn't finish :(. My 8 year old and 10 year old love though and did it for the second time today.

HalleLouja · 20/09/2014 12:34

Well done crucru. I think there is a problem with the parkrun website so haven't got results yet.

Goldendandelion · 20/09/2014 13:01

Our local facebook page has said that results will be uploaded later today or tomorrow. No mention of why though.

cinnamongreyhound · 20/09/2014 13:39

Yes it's a problem with parkruns server I believe.

Goldendandelion · 20/09/2014 15:12

Woohoo! New PBs for the boys. The 10 year old knocked just over a minute off his previous time.

CruCru · 20/09/2014 16:43

So I just found out that my time was 37:08, I came 169 out of 187 runners, was the 58th woman and came 4th in my age category.

feetheart · 20/09/2014 17:39

Sorry we missed you HalleLouja.
Had a lovely run. DS(8) ran the whole thing for the first time (no falling over or scoffing too many M&Ms beforehand and getting a stitch:)) and, of course he beat me with a sprint at the end!
He clocked 31:02, I got 31:07
Very disappointing hot chocolate but LOVELY cake in the cafe afterwards - St Albans prices though :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 20/09/2014 19:02

cinnamon I was torn between 12 and 14, but as I hate running in tight tops I went for the 14.

Well done feetheart and mini-feet

And welcome and well done Gold and mini-Golds

MelanieCheeks · 21/09/2014 07:52

Bit of parkrun tourism yesterday at [http://dancingatlunacy.wordpress.com/2014/09/20/ni-parkruns-ormeau/ Ormeau, Belfast].

Looking good, cinnamon, I'm still waiting for mine....

Well done crucru, and all those who got pbs yesterday!

I'm starting to work on a 12 Days of Christmas song, maybe you guys can help me.

On the first day of parkrun headquarters gave to me, a barcode for my pb.
On the 2nd day of parkrun, sweatshop sent to me 2 running shoes and a barcode for my pb.
On the 3rd day of parkrun Patricia gave to me 3 duck ponds, 2 (etc etc)
On the 4th day of parkrun Jog Lisburn gave to me, 4 horrid hills
On the 5th day of parkrun Facebook put out a plea, 5 volunteers

(Patricia is our RD, and always ends her course briefing with "How many times do you have to visit the duck pond?")

MelanieCheeks · 21/09/2014 07:53

that link done correctly

cinnamongreyhound · 22/09/2014 13:24

cinnamongreyhound · 22/09/2014 13:26
