New thread for park runners old and new. Who's running at home and away this weekend? Who's volunteering?

You'll be fine fruit. You will no doubt be one of many New Years Resolution-ers but even if you're not, parkrun is about running socially not speed and there will be a tail runner behind the last runner to make sure every gets home safely. Everyone is welcome.

Have a wonderful time and come back and rave about it to us tomorrow afternoon :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 02/01/2015 22:20

fruitpastille enjoy your parkrun tomorrow. I'm sure there will be lots of other newcomers too - and if you start tomorrow, you'll be a regular in no time at all Smile

Just beware fruit, it's addictive :)
Enjoy all of it tomorrow.

Ohone - hoping to be at Wimpole by 8.40ish if we don't get lost!

Good luck fruit and have fun!

It is blowing a hoolie and piddling it down here. And I left my trail shoes out in the rain - idiot.

Still, my Garmin gets to do its first parkrun!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 03/01/2015 07:39

Looking pretty grim here too Thursday.

feet see you soon GrinSmile

Thanks Thursday, nearly forgot Garmin!
Just about to leave Ohone

fruitpastille · 03/01/2015 09:38

Woke up with dodgy stomach. Groaning on sofa - gutted! So frustrating.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 03/01/2015 12:32

That's a shame fruit. Hope you feel better soon!

A small posse of tourists descended on Wimpole today - and we had a lot of fun slipping and sliding in the mud. And the bacon butties with feet and minifeet weren't bad either Smile

Oh fruit that's a horrible way to wake up. Hope you feel better soon and make it next week.

I think the weather gods were shining on us this morning as it was wet and 'oribble on the way there and wet and 'oribble on the way back but it didn't seem to rain whilst we were running :)
Great company and a lovely course that we want to come back to on a clear sunny day and a superb cafe, what more could a Saturday morning offer :o

I so jealous of all you lot living in the middle of the country where things are never too far away Envy I want to have a bacon sandwich with you!

MelanieCheeks · 03/01/2015 14:45

It was dry but verrrrry cold here in NI. There were 3 doggies running, and they were all pretty close. We were 2nd dog home, but only cos one of the others had to stop to attend to an urgent matter.....

25:09, which is close to a PB for me, and 3rd lady! Woohoo!

Blatherskite · 03/01/2015 15:39

I've recruited 2 or 3 new runners to my parkrun at the canicross run this morning Smile

fruitpastille · 05/01/2015 17:47

I did my own 5k using mapmyrun on Sunday when I felt better. Kept a steady pace and took 38 mins - well chuffed, never done that distance before except a race for life years ago :-) Roll on Saturday so I can do it properly!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 05/01/2015 18:24

Brilliant fruit well done Smile

Looking forward to your update at the weekend Smile

You don't have to say, but which is your parkrun? As you will have seen, we are from all over the place, and like our tourism too Smile

Quick question for fellow ParkRunners!

I earnt my 50th at the start of November and I'm still not able to claim my red t shirt. I've seen various emails about them changing supplier and the way they process them so I know there is a delay but when I look at my ParkRun progress (the bit where you claim) it just say's I've done 50 but no link or anything. DH got his a couple of weeks before me and has his Tshirt!

Any other recent 50s in the same situation finding the same thing?

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 05/01/2015 19:24

Salty I did my 50th in ?July (I'm now on 69 including a NYD double, so at least 18 weeks ago). I got the link to order at the time, but there were none in my size (I went for a 14 as I like baggy running tops - am wishing I had gone for a 12!). Melanie is (I think it is her) in the same boat.

DS1 earned his 10 shirt on NYD, also had an email but no instructions on how to order. I guess we all just have to be patient Smile

There are a few near enough but going for Harrogate.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 05/01/2015 20:17

Is that on the Stray? I was looking at it a while ago as it's within striking distance of my parents Smile

fruitpastille · 05/01/2015 20:28

Yes! 3 laps round part of it.

cinnamongreyhound · 05/01/2015 20:43

My friend and I did our 50th on 13th sept SalthySeaBird, my size was in stock and I got it in time for my next parkrun and hers was ordered but out of stock and she still hasn't had it. Once parkrun realised they weren't going to get anymore from Adidas they stopped people ordering at all. They have now got a contract with tribal and are expecting that you will be able to order via wiggle from March. You will have to pay p&p but it will come straight to your home rather than your chosen parkrun so in future t-shirts will get to you quicker.
