New thread for park runners old and new. Who's running at home and away this weekend? Who's volunteering?

Nice to see you too Halle.
DS struggled a bit again which I think might be linked to training on Thursday nights (he ended up doing sprints with the big boys this week as he was the only little one there!) He was back to beating me in the sprint finish again though :)
Nice post-run bacon roll and chat in the cafe revived everyone. Helped plan a 40th birthday celebration for someone who will be a regular at our parkrun - better be up and going by May then :)

Well done and welcome Gerund. Just beware, parkrun is addictive!

eckythumpenallthat · 21/12/2014 17:35

Gutted. Did my 50 th parkrun yday and they've put a temporary freeze on ordering t shirts. Gutted!

Blatherskite · 21/12/2014 18:14

I survived :) Despite a good night out on Friday and 5 hours sleep thanks to a late night and a poorly DD waking me up early, I still managed 3rd in my age category in fact Grin

Love that my friends are just as parkrun mad as me too. Friday night was always planned to be a gentle evening so that we could run on Saturday morning. Last night was less sedate and I'm still not sure I'm entirely sober!

I know why the t-shirts are on hold but not sure it's public knowledge yet. I will try to find something...

eckythumpenallthat · 21/12/2014 18:40

No it's public knowledge. It was in the newsletter

It's because of backlog and they are changing to a new system where it will be delivered to your home address rather than home run

I don't like that cos it's a little ceremony and recognition at the start of each race when they give them out Sad

Blatherskite · 21/12/2014 18:49

That bit's public knowledge but I'm not sure it's the whole of the story...

The Adidas logo has been removed from the website now so while it's not been announced as such yet, it's fairly easy to guess that they've withdrawn as sponsors. No one to make the t-shirts is bound to slow things down.

We don't have a ceremony at MK anymore. With 500 runners to get going, it would just take too long

Knackerelli · 21/12/2014 20:41

Hello ladies! It was my birthday this week and DH got me some trainers and a garmin!!!! Feeling very spoilt ( sorry kimmi yours wasn't with it, hope you've now found it. And many many many congratulations on your other news! Tested it this morning with a 5 mile race and spent a very geeky afternoon looking at all the info.

Is anyone at St. Albans parkrun on the 27th? Not promising but visiting family and hoping to sneak away!

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 21/12/2014 21:44

I'm on 65 now, and still waiting for my 50 shirt. I'm assuming that I will have done my 100th run by the time it arrives Smile

Happy birthday Knackerelli Smile

My rd friend said they're suppliers rather than sponsors now?!? Xmas Confused

Blatherskite · 22/12/2014 09:25

I spoke to our ED on Saturday cinnamon and he said that there is a new t-shirt supplier but it was someone he'd never heard of and he's forgotten the name.

I noticed last night that the official adidas kit on Wiggle is all on sale too now.

cinnamongreyhound · 22/12/2014 09:33

That's exactly what I said, I assumed they were trying to get rid but she said she thought they were trying to get parkrun to be self sufficient. I don't understand why it's all hush hush though, there's been lots of chat on the ed fb page but it always gets squashed as speculation!

feetheart · 22/12/2014 09:39

Knackerelli - Happy birthday - good pressies :)
Sorry, DS and I would usually be at St Albans but have a wedding that day and don't have time to do both :( They are a very friendly bunch though.

HalleLouja · 22/12/2014 09:41

Knackerelli I won't be at SA this weekend as have a 10 mile race the next day so will be resting aka probably lying in bed.

Blatherskite · 22/12/2014 09:50

Yeah, he said that the name of the new supplier had been announced and then quickly deleted. It does all seem to be strangely quiet, wonder what's going on.

Knackerelli · 22/12/2014 15:48

Typical, I'm about when no-one else is! Never mind, enjoy the wedding and good luck in your race HalleLouja and feetheart.

And loving all of the intrigue around the t-shirts!

eckythumpenallthat · 22/12/2014 18:12

Wow you are eagle eyes blatherscake! I hadn't noticed the Adidas logo disappear. And your right they have reduced the remaining Adidas stock. Why I never put 2 and 2 together I'll never know!

Ah so no more Adidas t shirts. Kinda relieved. Despite being a size 16 Adidas kit has never really fitted me properly and end up having to get a size 20 and it's just all miss proportioned

My park run only has just under 200. But it's nice to give them out before hand you get toput faces to names Smile

Blatherskite · 22/12/2014 22:54

I appear to have lost my whole evening to updating the roster and it's not even my week next week!

I'll be wrapping presents tomorrow night now!

cinnamongreyhound · 24/12/2014 10:50

So who's parlrunning Christmas day? I know a few but ours isn't on and my kids would never forgive me disappearing even for an hour. At least Dh isn't working this year Xmas Grin

HalleLouja · 24/12/2014 16:21

No parkrunning here. Was considering it but not well and have a ten mile race on Sunday. Hoping for a speedy (no pun intended) recovery my end.

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 24/12/2014 16:56

No parkrun here, although I hope to do the double on New Year's Day Smile

OP posts:
Blatherskite · 24/12/2014 17:12

Not allowed Sad

Would love to as it would make the double on NYD my 98th and 99th which would be nice and neat. At least this way Copenhagen will be my 101st parkrun though I guess stillsulking

100 looks like it will be January 10th if anyone is near MK and fancies popping over?

Blatherskite · 24/12/2014 17:16

Sticking with Huntingdon and Peterborough for NYD after toying with the idea of staying nearer to home to do Aylesbury and Buckingham instead so I hope to see you there OhOne

I'm not keen on Aylesbury and Peterborough will be a new course for me (number 24) so it makes it worth the extra travelling.

OnTheThursdayOfChristmas · 24/12/2014 17:18

No Parkrun on xmas day or NYD down here.

Im not very sorry

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 24/12/2014 17:31

Oh great Blathers see you there!

Unfortunately I have a tutorial on 10 January so will miss your 100th Sad I will come over another week - it has been a while since we saw each other.

DH is wavering about park run tomorrow...there may yet be an opportunity !!!!

cinnamongreyhound · 25/12/2014 07:38

Our two closest ones have not talked as they are 9 and 9.30 and 20 mins drive apart so only one for me nyd.

Been up half the night! Dh's sinisitus is back so he's struggling to breath and I seem to have picked up a sickness bug so glad I hadn't planned to run today! He's back to ooh Dr at 9.10 although no idea where he's going to fill any prescription he gets!
