New thread for park runners old and new. Who's running at home and away this weekend? Who's volunteering?

That's brilliant Melanie :o

DS and I are looking to see if we can combine trip to grandparents after Christmas with a NI parkrun. Definitely need to do it now :)

feet how was your 10k today?

feetheart · 05/10/2014 20:02

Excellent news!

HalleLouja · 06/10/2014 08:26

Bournemouth parkrun done and dusted. Lots of the David Lloyd runners from MK there. They must have been on a field trip. Came top in my age category but about a minute away from my PB. Plus there were a lot less people there than normal thanks to the Bournemouth running festival.

My mum / DH said the man running the cafe was like Basil Fawlty so got my breakfast from Sainsburys cafe instead!

HalleLouja · 06/10/2014 08:31

Laughing I was thinking Grovelands or Oak Hill Park but they might be too far out for you. I no longer live in London but those two parks aren't too far from me and used to be my locals. My friend was pondering Hampstead though. So if she does I will as she lives in the same place as me.

Melanie your dog looks awesome.

Feet a PR in your home town would be good for me. Are you thinking the park near the M1 / Harpenden?

feetheart · 06/10/2014 09:10

HalleLouja - I think so. The one with the Discovery Centre (who have a very nice cafe which must be the first consideration when deciding a parkrun location :))

HalleLouja · 06/10/2014 09:33

Ohhh.... Maybe my running club (or some of the peeps) might help you set it up if its there. Am sure there will be plenty of interest. I would definitely be up for helping set it up. PM if you want me to do anything.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/10/2014 09:36

I couldn't do that MelanieCheeks as mine have done nowhere near 50 Wink. Having to alternate them and doing some without a dog at all id feel a fraud and haven't counted how many they've done Blush

All this tourism, blatherskite would be proud Wink

feetheart · 06/10/2014 10:38

HalleLouja - will do. Have some stuff at home to get out of the way and waiting until club AGM at end of this month. After that will broach it with new committee and get all their contacts :)

HalleLouja · 06/10/2014 12:00

Feet you are on SA parkrun fb page with your ds.

Blatherskite · 06/10/2014 13:11

Yay for tourism :)

I actually did my home parkrun for the first time in a while last weekend. I paced a friend round to a new PB too. I saw the doctor last week and while it feels like my blood rubbish-mess is back, my counts are all fairly normal - for me (ie, they're below normal but average for me) so there is no real reason why I should be feeling as washed out as I have been. Feeling a bit brighter today so I'm hoping that I'll be able to get some more running done over the next 2 weeks and the Birmingham half marathon may not be a total wash out after all.

Saturday was parkrun number 85 for me so I'm counting down to my 100th now. Hoping it'll be early/mid January.

feetheart · 06/10/2014 13:32

Blathers - lovely to see you and glad you are feeling a bit better.
Are you doing the Panshanger inaugural on Saturday?

HalleLouja - well spotted (even if I am looking slightly gormless Hmm). There were only about 6 of us in fancy dress and DS was the cutest looking one so there were a few photos taken :)

cinnamongreyhound · 06/10/2014 13:38

Just been to nose not stalking feetheart, you don't look gormless at all :)

It's good that things aren't too bad Blatherskite but always annoying when there's no realy reason for feeling crap!

Blatherskite · 06/10/2014 15:39

I'm considering it feetheart. It's about an hour and a half drive for me though and "The Wife" isn't coming so I'd be doing it solo. Are you going?

Blatherskite · 06/10/2014 15:42

Ooh, I lied. It's "only" an hour :)

feetheart · 06/10/2014 17:12

Yes, DS and I will be there.
A mere hour, a trifle surely :)

Blatherskite · 07/10/2014 20:58

A friend who is very rarely in the UK has talked me into staying local this weekend so that we can run and have ice cream. I will be over to Panshanger at some point though as it's one of my closest 10 parkruns.

Have you lot seen the tourist tool?

cinnamongreyhound · 07/10/2014 21:03

Did your friends come to my Parkrun after my description blatherskite? I meant to ask as I was chatting to a couple who were visitors but didn't ask where they were from before they got called for the new runners briefing :)

OhOneOhTwoOhThree · 07/10/2014 21:10

Gosh that's clever Blathers!

Love the tourist tool!
Shame it's basically pointless down here

cinnamongreyhound · 07/10/2014 21:26

I knew all of my closest ones, but it is clever.

Blatherskite · 07/10/2014 23:14

I don't think he did in the end cinnamon but I know it's on his list. Mine too. Maybe I'll talk him into a road trip one day and we'll come together :)

My closest ones keep changing. Panshanger and Tring have appeared on there - neither of which I'm doing the inaugurals for Shock Will get there soon though. Now they've started, yours has dropped off the bottom though cinnamon Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 08/10/2014 07:01

Oh no! That is a disaster blatherskite! Still I'm sure that won't stop you :)

feetheart · 08/10/2014 13:21

Ooo, Tring.
Will see what Panshanger inaugural is like on Sat and see if DS is up for another one in November :)
He wants to do St Albans as his 'birthday run' on 8th (birthday the day before) and we will have cake :)
