I think it's alternating 60seconds run and 90 seconds walk, six times.

MySpideySenseTickles · 29/09/2014 13:48

I managed four, which is still four minutes of running which I don't think I've ever managed before, next time I'll try to do more, If after the three Im still struggling I'll do them again until I can do it.

I've been out, I've travelled 1.5 miles under my own steam and ran some of it.
I knew it wouldn't be easy as I reali I didn't even have a waterproof jacket because between the car and wherever I was going I didn't have time to get wet!
I'll do it if it bloody kills me!

MySpideySenseTickles · 29/09/2014 13:49

Realised.
My stupid new iPhone.

ScienceRocks · 29/09/2014 14:32

Spidey I love your determination! There is a good stretching thing on the NHS website that you can do on your rest days. It's here

awaits link fail

Daft I found 90 seconds walking a bit quick on week 4, but today (W5R1), I got three minutes in between each five minute run and it felt like loads. I think the way that it is done prepares you mentally as well as physically for whatever is coming next. So don't despair!

WastingMyYoungYears · 29/09/2014 21:07

I'm posting from the gym in real-time Grin! This is my face: AngryGrin. Ooh, you can MN on an exercise bike...

LaughingM · 29/09/2014 21:51

Well done Spidey, that's a great achievement - particularly when you were feeling anxious about it before. Onwards and upwards!

Wasting, I am ultra impressed with your multitasking!

Well done everyone else on all your running this weekend! I've done a few 30 minute runs over the last week, reaching about 4k each time. So def not c25k but getting there! Tonight was not so good, was really not feeling it and got stuck in traffic on my way to the woods (was en route to somewhere else afterwards) so I only had time to do one lap before it got dark and I got locked in… And then it all felt like a lot of effort Grin so I ran/walked the last half. I did try and run faster than my normal snail's pace when run/walking, so can I count it as interval training?! Pretty please!

ChameleonCircuit · 29/09/2014 22:06

Course you can, Laughing Grin

DottyDot · 30/09/2014 07:45

Spidey you are awesome! Grin. I know that feeling of when you absolutely have to start something right now, no matter what the weather, or you'll never do it! Wonderful.

Wasting that's definitely interval training in my book!

I'm working at home today which means a lovely quiet gym session this morning (followed by lots of work, honest...) and I cycled to work yesterday so all is good! I'm so grateful that the C25K programme has kick started me back into relatively healthy habits if you don't count the wine and chocolate

ScienceRocks · 01/10/2014 10:39

Did nobody run yesterday? Shock Or did nobody post about it?!

I have just done week 5 run 2. In the rain. I feel proud of myself Smile

MySpideySenseTickles · 01/10/2014 10:42

Run? I could barely bloody walk!
Supposed to run today but struggling to find time, might have to do it tomorrow. But I will do it!

MySpideySenseTickles · 01/10/2014 10:45

Tomorrow when I have proper running shoes and hopefully a very gorgeous new pair of boots to wear after. It's my reward for hitting 2st weightloss.
Shopping today.

DaftMaul · 01/10/2014 11:20

Shopping treats sound good Spidey. Do some more stretches, that should help the aches.

Well done Science.

I managed to complete W4R3 today. It wasn't pretty but I did it! I think the rain helped! I'll attempt W5 on Friday but not sure how it will go.

ScienceRocks · 01/10/2014 12:23

Daftmaul, I found the last run of week 4 much harder than the first run of week 5. It's slightly less running for a start, and for some reason not having to stop and start as much seemed to really help. One of my friends who is at the same stage as me said the same thing.

The last run of this week is a one 20minute stint. I am nervous (how is it possible to jump from two eight minute runs to 20 minutes?), and may do it on the treadmill to ease my concerns. I have a massage and facial booked for Friday morning so will try and do the run first thing.

And exciting news: the scales may just have moved slightly in the direction I am hoping for! It's a miniscule change, but I am definitely nearer the 11 stone mark than the 11 and a half stone mark. And quite a lot of people have asked me if I have lost weight so I must be looking better at least. Maybe I am walking taller because doing C25k is making me feel good about myself Smile

ScienceRocks · 01/10/2014 12:23

Sorry, very me me me post there. I'm just pleased.

WastingMyYoungYears · 01/10/2014 12:56

Well done Science Smile.

I think I look better too (although no-one has commented Grin), and I've probably lost nearly 6lb so far. I'd like to lose another 8lb I think.

MySpideySenseTickles · 01/10/2014 14:12

I now have an armband thing for my phone and awesome running shoes. No time to look for boots though.
But I did get a bright pink water bottle though. Grin

EdwiniasRevenge · 01/10/2014 17:28

Hi all,

I havent been out for a run for a week because I have had other priorities.

I'm hoping to go out in a bit for my W8r3 (28mins). I'm going to find it ultra hard aren't I?

MummySparkle · 01/10/2014 18:07

I have week 8 to do tomorrow - I'm scared too!

I just signed up for a 5k run in my local castle grounds. It's on the 19th, so 2 and a half weeks time. I'm well scared!!! Think I might have to try and push myself to run at least one 5k beforehand. Is it wrong to only want to do it for the tshirt?!

MarysDressSways1 · 01/10/2014 19:00

Hey all! I posted once weeeeeksnagp but thought I'd dip back in!

I did W7R1 yesterday. It was a struggle but I did it, everrrrr so slowly. W6R3 was far easier, probably as it wasn't dark/after work when I did that one!
I go VERY slowly, so god knows how far I'm actually going.. Not tracked that yet. Laura says stamina and endurance are more important than speed though right Wink

Re sports bras, I'm a 34g and got mine from debenhams. It's not the most flattering of garments but stops them bouncing about too much!!

I'm in awe of all the 5k+ types. 10 miles?! Wow.

MarysDressSways1 · 01/10/2014 19:06

Also, I'm very ashamed but I told Laura to fuck off (out loud, might been the cause of mild alarm for a fella walking past..) when she suggested I speed up for the last 60 seconds of the 25mins because that's what she did... Sorry Laura.

Iggi999 · 01/10/2014 19:50

That made me laugh Mary! Well just going out for first run in the dark - I'm sure this time last week it was daylight at this time! Will see how it goes. There are street lights and I have my reflective vest on.

ScienceRocks · 01/10/2014 20:24

Well done Mary! Love how you swore at Laura, I have done much the same at Jillian Michaels Smile

The nights are really drawing in, aren't they?

Iggi999 · 01/10/2014 20:46
Grin A woman said "good for you" to me as I ran past! She was across the street so not sure if she was a stranger or someone I actually know! Managed only 4k tonight in 30 mins + 10 walking. Still, didn't want to go out at all so still on schedule. Has anyone here bought a treadmill for the house?
ScienceRocks · 01/10/2014 22:30

I have a treadmill, iggi!

Iggi999 · 01/10/2014 23:07

Ohh, is it enormous? How does it compare to running outside?
I'm hoping to keep going out, but things like ice will beat me in the end.. Could drive to gym, but my problem was never finding enough time for it before!
