Oldies and newbies welcome to begin or continue with their monthly fitness regime. We've got tips, tricks and plenty of moaning to help ease your way into those jeans.

shadows thanks for taking one for the team. I'm steering well clear of that one!

On my 3rd day off. Knees now not complaining so much when I stand up. Posting to keep me in the zone, will start back tomorrow.

I'm back - RI30 L4 D5 done. Day off work today which is welcome as I was up half the night with DS having nightmares. Welcome back, Lambzig, good to see you again.

I'm avoiding both BFBM and NMTZ - I absolutely can't do anything longer than 30 minutes as even that is at the expense of sleep. I've bought the Killer Abs one as that claims to have relatively short workouts.

Body Rev phase 2 week 6 workout 6 done. well done shadows. I thought I would do BFBM after Ripped and it is still in my thoughts but the idea of finding 45 mins to do it is a bit hopeful at present.

But i have been thinking about how its been about 6 months since i began doing the JM programs and through that time I have felt myself getting so much more confident, flexible, strong and lean and I cannot say that my food intake has been any better though I do now stop eating at 8pm and don't eat in the morning till about 11am and that seems to have curbed my intake in terms of portion size and grazing all by itself over a bit of time. So yay to us all for sticking to it in whatever form.

Day 27 done. Aiming to complete before DCs go back to school on Thurs and move on to another JM workout; I think it is just the length of the others that is putting me off but I assume the results will be better. Just need to steer clear of planking moves.

Glad your experience has been so positive Yadah Smile

Body Rev phase 1, week 1, workout 5 done. The dreaded cardio tomorrow. Must say I have only done the phase 1 cardio once and hated it. The thought of doing it seven more times fills me with dread.

Shadows that sounds awful, will avoid.

Imogen, I agree with you on the 30 minutes tops thing. I know I just wouldn't do it.

Body Rev phase 2 week 6 cardio. Not as hard as I thought it was going to be after my two-week veg out. Come on, Lambzig, you know you want to.

Body Rev phase 1, week 1, workout 6 done. Hate, hate, hate the cardio, it's so boring. Day off tomorrow I think.

30DSL2D10 done! Went swimming with DD this morning then managed to fit shred in at 12:30, happy with that.

onto level 3 on Monday Confused hope I can do it!

Gonna look into other DVD's to continue onwards!

I found level 3 of Shred fairly doable after the wakeup call of level 2 Deftones. Once you've managed 20 days of it, the last 10 are quite straightforward to just knuckle down to. Good luck and well done.

RI30 L4 D6 done. I'm bored with this now: I haven't cracked the press-ups (and there are a lot of them), but I can do all the rest of it with no bother, and Jillian's motivational spiel is getting too much. I fast forward through the demented sergeant-major relaxation phase at the end, but even so she's annoying me!

Just done 30DS L1D7 (although with a gap of a week between D6 and D7).

I'm still on holiday, but it is very wet in Denmark this morning, so I thought I'd fit in a shred session rather than just sitting in my arse!

Body Rev, phase 1, week 1 - did an extra cardio this morning as I am off camping for four days from tomorrow and took the kids swimming. Quite how I managed to choose the forecast wettest days of the entire summer since may to go camping, I don't know.

Thank goodness jillian seems to tone down the psychobabble on body rev.

NMTZD3 done. Had friends over since Friday so hadn't managed to get any exercise in until today, 'twas tough.

Back again after too many missed shreds again. Completed 30DSL1D10 at last. It's only taken me 6 weeks. Pathetic! Anyway I think a few more at L1 as I haven't been 'diligent' then L2 here I come. Anyone else finding it hard to keep at it during holidays, kids off school etc?

Hello - can I join? I've recently dug out my very dusty copy of the shred and have just done 30DSL1D7 (though it's taken me more than 2 weeks to get this far...). I'm trying to get healthier and to cut down my body fat in a bid to reduce my chance of horrible future illnesses (my family have been badly affected by cancer, diabetes etc.). I thought if I joined this thread I might be motivated to continue Smile.

Does anyone else keep falling over when they do the lunges? Blush

Oh god, back after holiday, did lots of walking, but hadn't Shredded since 14th August. Did it this evening and it was seriously tough!

But I did it, so 30DSL3D9 done. Have actually got 3 more days to have actually completed the 30 days.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what to try next? I've got Banish Fat etc, but it doesn't seem to do an awful lot for me. I like the challenge aspect of Shred, is there something similar on any of Jillian's other DVD's?

RI30 L4 D7 done. Groan. The end is in sight and can't come soon enough. I should have finished it before the end of August.

Bimblepops, Ripped in 30 is very like the Shred - the workouts are about the same length and the format is very similar, except that there are three strength moves instead of two in each circuit. It feels like quite a good progression - some of it is a lot more difficult, and a lot of the moves are new (at least to me). The theory is that it takes a month, so a week at each level with one or two rest days, but I did ten days at each level and so did people on earlier threads. The downside is that Jillian now obviously fancies herself as a life coach and there's an awful lot of psychobabble - "some people don't ever show up in their own lives" type stuff. I just try to tune that out!

Sorry, posted too soon - I meant to say welcome, Littleorangetree. If you've got past the first three days of Level 1 you've done the worst part! I'm not a naturally sporty person (understatement of the century), and I've found being on this thread and its predecessors really good for motivation.

Hello all! I did the 30DS in May/June and then half of Ripped in 30. I hated Ri30 and decided to rejoin the gym an go back to lifting heavy weights. Unfortunately, I have some post-childbirth issues which were exacerbated by the heavy weights Sad so I did very little for a month. So I'm now doing 30DS again but doing a different level each day. I did level 3 day 1 today (did L1 on Fri and L2 yesterday) and did the first circuit from Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism. Will catch up with thread now Smile

NMTZD4. I think I'm finally getting on top of this. I am seeing MASSIVE results guys. Honestly I've done this workout 4 times and my legs are visibly shrinking, my arms are visibly shrinking. I think it's because of the format. So it's 5 mins at each circuit, but each circuit is actually only 2.5 mins, you just do it twice. So like the shred each move doesn't last for long and as with her shred moves, even though you're using weights you are still moving all the way through. There's two ab circuits in there and two mat work circuits which I LOVE. They use your own body weight rather than the weights and you can really feel it working.

30DSL1D8 Done. Still finding some of the moves hard e.g. lunges, so might do more than 10 days before moving up to level 2.

Skipping it tonight, have had a stinking headache for past 3hrs. Will be back on it tomorrow morning.

And I've ordered Ripped In 30 from Amazon...so there will be no rest for me once my 30 days are up!

RI30 L4 D8 done. Two to go! Though I'm not absolutely sure whether to count today properly: I just gave up and lay on the mat during one set of press-ups.

30DSL1D2 done plus 10 minutes of BFBM. I'm enjoying the variety of not doing the same level day after day.

Shadows I really like NMTZ. I use a HR monitor and as well as being a great strength workout it burns loads of calories. I've only ever managed 6 if the 7 circuits though.

Way to go Imogen, almost there! I'm very impressed, I found Ri30 soul destroying.
