Oldies and newbies welcome to begin or continue with their monthly fitness regime. We've got tips, tricks and plenty of moaning to help ease your way into those jeans.

Welcome, rubytuesday. That goal sounds eminently achievable.

RI30 L4 D4 done. Press-ups not getting any easier. Several days off now as we're going to visit my family and I don't want an audience for my JM sessions!

I was only due to have 1 rest day...that's turning into 3 Shock however, I am going to the gym later for a run and some weights. Gonna do 6 days next week. That will take me to level 3 then Grin

Hi rubytuesday and welcome to the shred thread.

Rest day yesterday, just done 30DS L1D6. Last before my holiday (catching an overnight ferry later).

I may not be back on the thread until September - I hope you are all going to keep up the good work while I am a away Grin

I did a load of weight moves from the shred thread and a big walk yesterday as DCs are at their dads this weekend and I didn't have time to do a proper DVD as was being all sociable and out lots. Once I've shifted this hangover I will attempt to start a new DVD

Did 30DSL3D4 yesterday but think I'm going to have to give up on L3 as it doesn't seem to be doing my back any good. Went back to L1 this morning but used weights during the cardio like on L3, think I'm going to stick to that for the last 5 days.

Well done to everyone who is seeing results! I think I need to pick up the pace a bit - the 30 day shred will have taken me around 60 days Blush

Enjoy your hols Oubliette!

Fucking hell! I've just done No More Trouble Zones, which is another JM DVD. It's still circuits but it's all strength and abs, no cardio and it's 40 mins of relentlessness. Even the ab moves need you to either use your weights or your body's weight against itself. It's very hardcore but I think because I've done the shred my stamina has improved and I got through it. There's no way Id have got through it a few months back, no way! Because it's so so hardcore I think I'm going to do it every other day. I'll have 2 rest days a week and 2 days of purely cardio workouts. I think for the cardio I will just stick some dance music on and do twenty mins alternating all the cardio moves from the shred workouts. That's also sustainable as the NMTZ workout is 40 mins and come September DD is at nursery 3 days a week and Im going to struggle to fit in 40 mins on those days so they can be my cardio and rest days.

So I'm going to do (putting it on here so I have to stick to it!)

Mon - NMTZ
Tues - cardio
Wed - rest
Thurs NMTZ
Fri - cardio
Sat -NMTZ
Sun - rest

Am now going to stagger into the shower!

Shadows, that DVD sounds horrible haha!

I managed to do a 20 minute run and weights at the gym yesterday, however had a few bottles of raspberry cider yesterday so will have to do 30DSL2D5 later after work.

I'll be doing it everyday till Saturday, and will include 3 runs too. Need to increase my activity to fit into my dress more comfortably!

Good luck ladies! Don't phone it in Wink

NMTZD2 done. I had seriously achey legs and arms this morning, could hardly walk. Pushed through it and did the full 40 mins again. Tomorrow will be a cardio workout and then I get a rest day, hallelujah! If all this doesn't pay off I will be cross. It's def a good workout for all the bits that the shred seems to skip - triceps to reduce bingo wings, chest to get natural boob lift, inner thighs and saddle bags. I'm still having to sub in some diff ab moves though because of my separation which isn't ideal.

Just done 30DS L1D3. Doesn't feel any easier but I am forcing myself to keep going. I don't expect to see any results next Sat (my weigh in) but I have to believe it will work!
Good luck with the new workouts - I may look into them if I get through 30 DS!

30DSL2D6 done at 5:30am. Still finding it hard, the plank business just hurts as my upper body strength is appalling!

Heading to the gym after work to do a run and some weights Shock this will be the first time I do gym and shred on the same day. Taking it easy!

Hope it's all going well for you all!

Hope hols are good oubliette I'm up to day 6 of my second shred so I've caught you up and will zoom past you whilst you're away!

shadows that sounds utterly horrendous. However I think I may have to jack in the shred and try something new because I've just done my fortnightly weigh in and I've not lost a pound or an inch in 2 weeks, and I didn't lose much the 2 weeks before that. I did so well in the first month and now I'm feeling really disheartened.

I've hit a plateau and I'm still 10lbs in the overweight bmi. I know that muscle is more dense etc but I STILL can't get into my pre pregnancy knickers (DS was 6 mo last week). I guess I'm going to have to be super strict with my diet and maybe supplement the shred with some extra cardio. I'm determined to be back in my work clothes by the time I return in Dec.

High intensity cardio burns more fat than a 40 min run Tango so if when you're out with DCs or on your way to work, whatever, you can fit in 3 flat out sprints or running as fast as you possibly can up a hill, and you need to maintain that for 2 mins, that will be far more effective. And as it's short bursts it doesn't take up much time. You will feel like you are dying, you do have to maintain the maximum of your ability for that 2 mins, the second you slow down it stops being effective, but it definitely works.

More shredding done today, up to D26 overall and determined to complete it! Even though I'm back at L1 I was aching yesterday, I found it makes a real difference using the weights as well.

Shadows I've got NMTZ (it's been on the shelf unopened for about 2 years Blush ) it sounds a bit scary! Might give it a look next week...

Thanks shadows , one thing the shred has taught me is that 2 minutes is longer than I think. Sounds like a plan.

I'm not going to be doing anything for a few days though, all those skipping-jumps have finally taken their toll and my knees are so so sore (going from sitting to standing is tough, and nigh-on impossible holding DS). Few days off I think, don't want to do any real damage.

Go fuckalella you're nearly there!

30DSL2D7 done. I'm still struggling with plank work and the v raises. Just wish I could do them all instead of switching it up!

Only another 3 days at level 2 then I'm on the home stretch!

Good luck all those shredding and what not!

I didn't work out yesterday, instead I ached and grumbled my way about the house! I do however, seem to have lost another half inch and my weight plateau may finally be over, down 1lb, which is minuscule but the scales haven't moved even the tiniest bit for weeks so I'm taking that as a very good sign! I might have a look at Burn Fat Boost Metabolism as that sounds cardio based? If it is then I can use that for my cardio days and NMTZ the other 3. Will see.

Although I've just googled it and lots of people saying "the shred is much easier". Think I will take a look later when the kids have a nap, it's supposed to be a longer workout and looks like it is all cardio. Eek. Will report back!

30DSL2D8 just done (bit later than usual)...really had to talk myself into doing it today, however glad I did. Managed to do the abdominal twists two full sets, managed to do a few jumping jack planks and all of the plank twists. Improving slowly so I'm on track for level 3 in a few days time Confused

Hi, can I please rejoin you. I was on this thread through May, June and July and made my way through 30 DS mad RI30, went on holiday and then started Body Rev.

Unfortunately, I got sidetracked by a rather horrid family situation and did nothing for 5 or 6 weeks. I just started Body Rev again this week and am seriously regretting the weeks off. My core strength is still ok, but my cardio fitness is shot and finding it ok, but not the breeze it was.

Anyway, Body Rev, Phase 1, week 1, workout 4 done.

Yadah, good to see you are still on it.

Hello Lambzig hope all is well. I am enjoying it and it is working - all my evil bits are responding slowly but surely. The pace is nice too - not as short hard and intensive as Shred and Ripped but really focused and challenging. It is a nice change. Anyway, stick with it and you will be back to your very fit self in no time. Glad to have you back - I have missed you.Smile

It is! It is! All the weight fell off my legs, hips and bum bum really fast as usual via Shred and Ripped and now it is grudgingly (mind, I never quite manage to watch what I eat like you do) shifting from the stubborn bagel belly. Mwah ha ha I have you in my sights, hellchunk ...

Ok, muggins over here has just been guinea pig and done Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. It's 45 mins of relentless cardio circuits. There are 7 circuits and they have all the horrendous moves from shred plus some lovely new ones. She works in tonnes of those jumping type moves and there's some kick boxing in there as well. You don't stop moving at any point and the "here's where you catch your breath" are things like jumping jacks and jump rope. It's horrid, truly horrendous but that obv means it's doing good things to your body. I think I will try and have this as one cardio day a week, I may go for a light jog the other day Grin

It's actually on youtube... I think we should have a challenge Smile

The banish fat one sounds intense Shock

Managed 30DSL2D9 early this morning, still really feeling it but can do some of the advanced moves now! I've not noted any inch loss, which is very disheartening but I'll power through. I'm watching what I eat too, but then my body has always been a stubborn bitch.

Last day on level 2 tomorrow, then just 10 days left for the DVD Grin
