Level two really is a killer.

30DSL2D2 complete. I swapped jumping jacks and jump rope for some light jogging on the spot and punches as my knee is really painful today. Still drenched in sweat so must have done some good?!

Killer Abs L1 D1 done. Much easier than Ripped, but some of the moves need more grace and co-ordination than I've got: there was a lot of flailing going on on this first run-through. There's almost no cardio, which suits me (I get mine from cycling anyway) but might not suit everyone.

Thanks, yadah and Lambzig. I'm going to start the Killer Abs one tomorrow morning and see how it goes. I've still got a wodge of podge on my midriff that I would be very happy to see the back of! I've also ordered No More Trouble Zones with the plan that I won't try to do the whole thing at once - I'll do two or three circuits in the morning before work, possibly alternating with Killer Abs. The aim is still to do 5 workouts of 25 minutes or so each week.

Lambzig, if you were camping in the weather we had at the beginning of this week, I'm astonished you only gained 5lb - I'd have been mainlining wine and crisps to get through it!

Shadows, PM me if you seriously want the RI30 DVD - I can't imagine doing it again and I'd be happy to post it to you.

Thanks yadah. My hip and knee are really hurting now. I don't know I should ease off or take some pain killers and get on with it! I haven't noticed any change to my body yet should have done some measurements...

Well done Imogen. Bet it feels good to know you did it. Come on, spill the beans, what are you going to do next?

Spotty welcome and I think the best thing to do is to go with your individual body's needs. If you need to balance on something, then do it and if you have trouble doing certain moves, then sub them with something more appropriate. I think many of us on the thread have had to do the odd Google search for appropriate alternatives to ... whatever exercise stumps us. The basic idea is doing it in whatever form is better than not doing it. Which, ahem, brings me to my next point ...

I will be back on it tomorrow I PROMISE. I have had a strange week of feeling a bit hormonal, a bit stressed by the amount of work-related juggling I have on at the moment, a bit of a downer about the end of the summer hols and a general malaise about the state of the world and all who suffer in it, me especially, IYKWIM.

Thanks for your good vibes, btw.

Hope you don't mind me jumping in I need some advice!

Have just don't 30DSL2D1 and my god it's hard! Which is fine, but.... I have awful balance due to a genetic disorder effecting muscles and nerves blah blah blah. I can't stand on one leg normally let alone doing all the weights! I've been standing next to the arm of the sofa for balance do you think that's ok?

Also that planks Shock I find that hard as my ankles just turn over straight away so I'm having to bend my knees.

Also in a lot of pain in one leg and one hip (have hip displasia) as tend to put more weight on one side when doing jump rope etc argh!

I suppose as long as I'm doing my best....

Sorry me me me Blush

Just checking in... I am still here but not shredded all week Blush I don't even have a good excuse. Will do it tomorrow. Feeling wobblier already!

I have finally ordered the JM 3 pack DVD (RI30, buns & thighs & shred something or other) that has been in my amazon basket for weeks. Planning to start my new regime in September.

Well done to everyone who is still going!

I'll have it imogen Grin

I'm finding that two days of NMTZ and two days off, then two days on etc is having far more effect than trying to do it or other JMs workouts every day as I'd planned. I find that everything almost swells up after doing two days of the full 45 min workout and then over the two days off the fluid (I imagine that's what the swelling is) sods off and my measurements shrink. So I'm going to keep doing that I think. I think it's probably just so hardcore when I'm also lugging two toddlers about and walking everywhere that too much of it puts my body under too much strain. I definitely found I barely had energy for the warm up trying to do a third day of exercise in a row, which doesn't seem to me to be a good thing!

RI30 L4 D10 done. I am FINISHED with RI30 and am tempted to give the DVD to a charity shop. Weekend off now.

Bimblepops and Littleorangetree, hope you recover soon.

Yesterday and today has been a shred washout because I have a horrible cold and don't feel up to it. Hopefully I'll get back to it this weekend when I can breathe again! Grin

RI30 L4 D9 done! I've decided that lying on the mat and reflecting instead of doing the renegade row with a push-up is the way forward: there are two other kinds of push-up in the workout and this one really hurts my hands as well as making me feel inadequate (I know exactly what you mean about L2, BiggerYellowTaxi: I didn't quite cry but I did post a rant on this thread's predecessor to the effect that I was really crap and couldn't do any of it and I wasn't sure there was any point in carrying on with it).

One day more and then I've got to decide what to do next. I'm dithering between starting the Killer Abs one or going back to the beginning of the Shred with heavier weights. Or possibly doing three days a week of the Killer Abs and two of the Shred to avoid getting bored (or more bored - exercise is really not my thing).

Ouch ouch ouch...had to skip 3rd circuit as my lower back was seriously sore. Will try to get to the osteopath tomorrow.

Am still counting it as a day done, even if that's cheating. So 30DSL3D10 done. Still 2 days to get the 30 days done though.

Sending exercise pumping vibes to you, Yadah!

That sounds pretty annoying, Imogen. What killed me on level 2 was the ab hold to table top(?) move. My bum dragged on the ground and I found it really depressing. I also couldn't even come close on the crow push-ups. But it was the bum dragging that actually made me cry.

I'm enjoying doing Shred again especially as I can do all the moves and use heavier weights than last time. Will consider the Body Revolution set when I oh back to work, I really can't afford £80 right now.

Sending good vibes, yadah!

BiggerYellowTaxi, level 2 of RI30 is just evil from beginning to end - I nearly gave up. But I haven't found levels 3 and 4 as bad, apart from the threats to break me in half so that when she's done with me I'll be unbreakable.

Agh, I have not done anything two days in a row. I have a lot of work on my plate and trying to keep on top of that - and the kids at home - and well meaning friends and relations just popping in - is conspiring to make me feel as though I cannot be self motivated and disciplined from the moment i wake to the moment I sleep. I will really try to get back to it tomorrow tho as nothing makes me feel better within myself. Send me some vibes, people!

30DSL1D2 done plus 10 minutes of BFBM. I'm enjoying the variety of not doing the same level day after day.

Shadows I really like NMTZ. I use a HR monitor and as well as being a great strength workout it burns loads of calories. I've only ever managed 6 if the 7 circuits though.

Way to go Imogen, almost there! I'm very impressed, I found Ri30 soul destroying.

ImogenQuy · 27/08/2014 07:07

RI30 L4 D8 done. Two to go! Though I'm not absolutely sure whether to count today properly: I just gave up and lay on the mat during one set of press-ups.

Skipping it tonight, have had a stinking headache for past 3hrs. Will be back on it tomorrow morning.

And I've ordered Ripped In 30 from Amazon...so there will be no rest for me once my 30 days are up!

30DSL1D8 Done. Still finding some of the moves hard e.g. lunges, so might do more than 10 days before moving up to level 2.

NMTZD4. I think I'm finally getting on top of this. I am seeing MASSIVE results guys. Honestly I've done this workout 4 times and my legs are visibly shrinking, my arms are visibly shrinking. I think it's because of the format. So it's 5 mins at each circuit, but each circuit is actually only 2.5 mins, you just do it twice. So like the shred each move doesn't last for long and as with her shred moves, even though you're using weights you are still moving all the way through. There's two ab circuits in there and two mat work circuits which I LOVE. They use your own body weight rather than the weights and you can really feel it working.
