Okay, it's not just 30 Day Shred anymore but if you would like to log your daily JM fix and get some tips and tricks from fellow Shredders, step this way.

Just completed 30DS L1D8 - only 2 more days until level 2...

ImogenQuy · 06/07/2014 21:09

I previewed L2 of RI30 this morning (with DS for an audience while I tried out one or two of the moves) - really not looking forward to it!

tabulahrasa · 06/07/2014 21:14

I was away about 5 hours away for a hen night (because she lives that far away not because it was in a stupid place) I was going to do it before I left yesterday, but I ran out of time and I'm way too tired today, so that'll be 2 rest days in a row then.

I'll be doing it tomorrow though :)

PrivateBenjamin · 06/07/2014 21:42

I am on my second run of the Shred and up to L1D8. I started again after finishing it in June because I have never been fit in my life and I had literally no muscle so wanted to build up some fitness before moving on.

I hadn't lost any weight the first time, I got slightly bigger if anything, though my calves were muscled like a weight lifter and my cardio fitness increased massively. I had been eating fruit and salads with no treats the whole time too so I was pretty disappointed. This week I have been eating a fatty 6" sub every day (working away from my normal place and couldn't pre-prepare meals) and I have lost about 3 inches off my belly. So I think i wasn't eating enough to build muscle before. Lesson learned - Eat lots of carbs in the day time!

Bimblepops · 06/07/2014 22:21

Two days of no Shred for me, as I've been away all weekend.

Back to it tomorrow, hope the rest will prove to be a good thing!

Well done to everyone else for Shredding/etc over the weekend.

Chococroc · 07/07/2014 06:50

30DS, L2. Day 2 just done - really not a fan of all the planking, did feel marginally easier than yesterday though, guess because I was more familiar with it.

ImogenQuy · 07/07/2014 07:08

RI30 L2D1 done. Oof. Lots of planking in this one too - it really puts a strain on my shoulders, and my right wrist is protesting a bit too today. Plus I'm so pathetically uncoordinated that learning a new routine is always challenging.

Still, it's done, even if pathetically, and I've packed DS's lunch for his nursery day trip as well.

Tangoandcreditcards · 07/07/2014 08:09

Had Sunday off too. Pretty poor really as would only have been day 5. Back on it now. 30DSL1D5 complete.

Noticed my pyjama bottoms (yes, even my PJs had got too tight) felt a lot more comfortable yesterday. It might actually be working already!

yadahyadah · 07/07/2014 08:16

BR phase 1 wk2 cardio 1 done. Looking forward to hols starting next week so I can relax in the mornings. All worn down in my household so lots of having to buck kids up throughout breakfast while hufting away.

Given it's wedding season not managed to get any shred done over the wkend and was up all night with an vomiting ds plus not feeling great myself so think going to admit defeat today as well but being on this thread keeps the shred on my mind so hopefully can get back to it tomorrow or wed depending on the sickness status.

OwlCapone · 07/07/2014 13:10

I had a rest day yesterday and planned to start today but I've just mown the lawn and I'm knackered! Not as knackered as I used to be after mowing it though, which is surely a positive sign :)

tabulahrasa · 07/07/2014 13:50

30DSL1D4 done

Fuckalella · 07/07/2014 14:06

Back on it after a rest day yesterday, 30DSL1D8 done. Had to push myself into it a bit though!

ShadowsShadowsEverywhere · 07/07/2014 14:25

Hi everyone. I ended up doing nothing at all yesterday, as kids weren't here. I had a bath at lunch time, watched loads of box sets and ate Ben and Jerry's for breakfast! So I need to get back into it today. I feel tired, I think because I actually took it easy yesterday it's made me relax a bit and notice I'm tired or something, but I'm going to try and get a good session of exercise in this PM while DD naps.

I keep noticing things like that Owl, I'm finding a lot of energetic household tasks a lot easier than I used to! Well done everyone, let's keep pushing ourselves! Maybe we need to have a motivation post from everyone to remind ourselves why we are doing this?

OwlCapone · 07/07/2014 15:51

Well, I forced myself to do L2D3 (with my modifications to most of the plank exercises) so I can feel personally smug :)

ShadowsShadowsEverywhere · 07/07/2014 16:57

30DSL2D3 and 6W6PL1 done. Did them back to back and actually feel ok afterwards. Think my stamina is picking up!!

Lambzig · 07/07/2014 19:04

Just back from holiday and smugly have lost a pound. The beer, ice cream, bucket of wine and sun lounger diet must suit me.

Keen to get back into the exercise routine, but having completed 30 DS and RI30 before I went, am not sure where to start next. Any advice much appreciated.

Yadah, what is it that you are doing?

BiteMeEricNorthman · 07/07/2014 19:10

Hiya can I join please? I'm on level 1 day 4.

I Struggled to walk over the weekend (had to take the lift up to the first floor at work Blush ) but my legs are feeling lots better now. Have had no aching in my arms though so am worried I'm not doing it right!

Have lost 3 stone by dieting, on the final stone now but I am pure jelly and am desperate to do something about my Caesarian hang over :(

OublietteBravo · 07/07/2014 20:06

30DS L1D9 done.

Bimblepops · 07/07/2014 21:42

30DSL2D9 done, nice and early this morning.

Then Tour de France watching for most of the day. Lots of fun. But now seriously down on my Fitbit steps for the day - going to have to jog on the spot whilst watching the Outsiders!

PrivateBenjamin · 07/07/2014 21:49

Welcome Biteme ! Well done on your weight loss, that's great! I find that the legs are the first things to tone up, then the muscle spreads inwards from your extremities, like frostbite!

yadahyadah · 07/07/2014 21:55

lambzig welcome home and jealous eyes over your poolside weightloss. I found JM's Body Revolution on Vimeo and have started doing that but I am doing the cardio 3x a week and the weights and mats workout 2x week to hopefully accelerate fat loss. It is a couch to hell 3month program so as you can imagine, after the rigours of Ripped it is a walk in the park at this stage and I am enjoying it for that. Check it out vimeo.com/album/2762336

30DS, level 2 day 3 done this morning. Found it hard work today, having a rest day tomorrow as have an early start travelling for work, really quite looking forward to the rest!

ImogenQuy · 08/07/2014 07:12

RI30 L2 D2 done. I'm so crap at most of the moves I doubt they're doing me any good - I'm only dipping a very tiny bit on the crow push-ups, I'm not flexible enough to do the side lunges with leg raises, and I keep just failing to complete the squat thrusts. Squinting at it on the tiny screen of my portable DVD player doesn't really help either.

Welcome, BitemeEricNorthman, and welcome back, Lambzig.

ddas · 08/07/2014 08:11

Been reading about diastasis & jm video's and most info out there says it's not suitable which freaked me out slightly although have been doing the modified version of the abs stuff like you recommended shadows. Apparently it's all the plank exercises that can make things worse too. The main reason I'm doing this is to help with my belly ie jm for the fat on the belly & also doing the recommended exercises like pelvic tilt etc every evening for the diastasis. Hoping to feel confident enough to get in a swim suit on holiday in a month so don't want to make it worse!!
