Sorry for my frankly shocking maths giving us false hope fie the magic 2000k Blush

HalleLouja · 29/06/2014 22:49

Another 6.2km here making 1913.7 km.

Getting closer.

Was a great run felt like I could have kept going for longer.

HalleLouja · 29/06/2014 22:50

Sorry 1813.7 picked up the wrong number.

originalpiratematerial · 29/06/2014 23:04

i have a foam roller - they're good. Tonight though I am doing the alternating hot water bottle and bag of frozen peas treatment Grin

originalpiratematerial · 29/06/2014 23:05

on my calf though, not my IT band

foam rollers are a great but absolutely agonising way to treat tight IT band

standingonlego · 30/06/2014 07:06

I did wuss out after a couple of rolls last night! Achey this morning :(

Sirzy · 30/06/2014 07:09

I'm a bugger for not stretching properly after running so wondering if investing in a foam roller will help to encourage me more!

I have a foam roller and only use it in pilates....

TessTackle · 30/06/2014 11:08

9.33 today 1823.03
W5r1 of c25k was actually ok, looking forwar to Thursdays 8min runs and Fridays big 20. Definitely finding the heat more manageable with my snazzy new top.

I never stretch Blush

cinnamongreyhound · 30/06/2014 12:15

I took the dogs for a long walk yesterday and said to dh I wished I'd run! My shoulders and back ached and when I run I always feel better not worse!!!

BlueChampagne · 30/06/2014 12:25

originalpirate I think fankle is Scots!

BlueChampagne · 30/06/2014 12:29

When did the running total start? You can have all my commuting runs if you like!

cinnamongreyhound · 30/06/2014 13:56

It's for June BlueChampagne, we did miles in may and we're going to do hours for July Grin

BlueChampagne · 30/06/2014 14:27

OK I can offer you 88 miles for June (including Friday's 10) - thank you MapMyRun! Will start counting hours next month.

Blatherskite · 30/06/2014 14:42

Wow BlueChampagne 88 miles is a lot! I've been running a lot more than usual and only made 68!

briteside · 30/06/2014 14:43

Hello hello! I was disappointed yesterday when our busy weekend plans meant I had to skip my planned run. So I woke up early this morning and had a GORGEOUS run through Bushy Park, 10km in total. It was a slow run but so lovely. I am still smiling at the thought that I am the kind of woman who can wake up at dawn on a Monday and run a 10km. Just because Grin

I did the intervals on Friday - great fun to see the charts on Garmin connect after Blush I am looking forward to incorporating these into my weekly routine.

I quite like my foam roller but don't use it for stretching after my runs - I read somewhere that Foam Rollers should not replace normal static stretches after exercise, but should be used on their own in the same way that athletes would have a deep tissue massage.

Of course, mine has a use all of its own...which is torturing me I enjoy using it on my shins.

Foam rollers do require a little bit of...er...um....flexibility but the upside is that I feel like my arms & core muscles get a good workout too!

New Total: 4.22km intervals on Friday and 10km this morning = 1837.25 km

briteside · 30/06/2014 14:44

Wow, cross posted - what an amazing achievement champagne !

cinnamongreyhound · 30/06/2014 14:53

Just counted mine up, I did 60 miles in June :)

Well done BlueChampagne I will let someone else convert your miles to km, my dh can do it in his head but I need to go to a converter myself!

feetheart · 30/06/2014 15:05

I make 88 miles + 142k so total now:

1979.25 km

Can we get it to 2000 by tonight :)

Hopefully I pick up my new trainers tomorrow and then will ease back in. Shins were still achy so rested, got new shoe inserts and ordered new trainers (as probably overdue Blush) I am expecting to be running on soft, fluffy clouds later in the week :)

feetheart · 30/06/2014 15:05

= not +

BlueChampagne · 30/06/2014 16:03

Well, I did kick off with my first half on 1st June. Don't expect the next few months to be so high!

Blatherskite · 30/06/2014 16:40

I've got my third half marathon on the 1st July - Sunday Aargh! I'm not expecting to be super fast but it would be nice not to have to add too many hours to the July total though!

Have just bought myself a new hydration belt and some salt tabs after being told I needed them by a running friend. I'm getting close to "all kit-no clue" territory I think. I'm not even sure when I should be taking the tabs!

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 30/06/2014 16:49

Had a lovely run today, past lambs and dusk and horses - beautiful. Did 10k which brings us to 1989.25km.

SoftKittyWarmKitty · 30/06/2014 16:49

Ducks not dusk! Grin

Blatherskite · 30/06/2014 16:58

I can add Saturday's parkrun and today's 2.4km covered doing my running techniques course... 1996.65
