Igggi - I wish I could claim authorship... Blush

StarlightMcKenzie · 19/08/2014 09:28

It was w1r2. Day off today - hooray!

CruCru · 19/08/2014 10:25

Well done Starlight!

EdwiniasRevenge · 19/08/2014 10:59

Thats W4R2 done.

I had to fight the urge to walk the second half. But I did it all. Distance covered about the same as last time.

StarlightMcKenzie · 19/08/2014 11:55

How do you know what distance you covered?

I mean I know because so far I've pretty much only gone round the block, but obviously hoping to extend that when my jogging speed overtakes my walking speed.

DottyDot · 19/08/2014 12:46

Starlight I really really don't like running at all, so know how you feel. I'm not a natural runner, find the whole thing really boring and bloody difficult all at the same time! But.... I love how I feel when I stop Grin. And I'm losing weight, so I have to keep doing it. I agree it robs less time than other exercise-y stuff so we might as well keep going?!

Back at the gym tonight for the first time in 6 days. Think I'll try the bridging app to keep me motivated as I'm missing Laura and need to know I'm working towards completing something rather than just running...!

EdwiniasRevenge · 19/08/2014 13:29

I use a running app called Strava which uses GPS to tell me how far I've run. There are others. Map my run is another I've heard of..

CruCru · 19/08/2014 15:53

Hey all, I am on a rest day but am super excited. We have saved some money on a building project so DH said I could buy myself some new running gear. I love online shopping. Meant to be delivered on Friday.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 19/08/2014 19:24

Not looking forward to the run tomorrow, 3 hour round trip to Portsmouth and 7.5 hours wandering around the historic dockyards.

WastingMyYoungYears · 19/08/2014 19:55

Well done Edwinia Smile.

Ooh, what did you order Cru? I've ordered some vests from H&M - I think they're hoping to deliver by next year Confused. I can't wait to get them though. I ran in a non-techy vest at the gym last week, it was soaked with sweat Grin.

I just did W4R3 Smile, it was alright. Bring on week 5!

Kasterborous · 19/08/2014 20:03

I'm just back from a 10K (6 mile) run Shock I can't believe I managed it. It wasn't fast at 1hr 15mins and 36 secs. But I don't care. After the first three miles I thought about stopping and was struggling a bit at 4.5 miles but I thought 'if I stop running now I will have to do it all again to do six miles'. This is me who struggled to run for five mins back in February. This running is addictive. Smile

CruCru · 19/08/2014 20:12

Kasterborous - that sounds awesome!

Wasting - I ordered a pair of running tights (it's been very windy in the Isle of Wight), a long sleeved running top in that fluorescent yellow that cyclists wear and a blue short sleeved top (all from Nike, I find Sweaty Betty a bit small).

I've discovered something on Map my Run. You can put in your trainers, when you bought them and how many km you've done in them so far and it will work out how much longer they'll last. Mine are meant to last another 620 km (thank god).

spookyskeleton · 19/08/2014 20:23

kaster woohoo, yet another one to join the 10k club...feels good doesn't it?

I know the delivery of H&M is shocking isn't it? I have often forgotten what I have ordered by the time it eventually arrives - I assume that is why it is so cheap Wink

Haven't run since Saturday Sad really need to get a decent run in soon but lacking in motivation as I go away on holiday next week so the running is going to stop for 10 days anyway Grin

DottyDot · 19/08/2014 20:46

Eugh! First run at the gym after being on holiday and it was hard...! I made 5k but in 43 minutes - does it matter that I'm getting slower?! Blush

Still, looking on the bright side, at least I went and that was my first 5k completed on the treadmill - and 43 minutes gives me something to aim to beat..!

CruCru · 19/08/2014 22:57

5k in 43 minutes sounds pretty good to me, Dotty.

DottyDot · 20/08/2014 09:43

Hmm... It's the fact that my first 5k was 39 minutes, 2nd was 41 minutes and last night's was 43 minutes...! Grin

But I feel all enthused again and definitely back to eating/drinking more sensibly, which is good. And today I'm going to investigate Park Runs and possibly sign up for one Shock

CruCru · 20/08/2014 09:55

As it gets colder, you will get faster.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 20/08/2014 10:30

I think running 5k is brilliant, you have had a week off so take some time to get back into it and hopefully it will get quicker.

Just done W2R2 I slowed it down a smidgen and Laura didn't randomly add 15secs to one if the runs!! Felt better the only issue us that the warm down now is starting to take place on quite a long hill

CruCru · 20/08/2014 12:10

W6R3 done! I can run nonstop for 25 minutes. Not very fast, I covered 4.43 km including warm up, cool down and a bit of walking back to the house.

EdwiniasRevenge · 20/08/2014 18:58

W4R3 Done.

fairly comfortable. Bring on week 5 :-)

I also weighed myself today. I've list 10kg in about 4 months. Thats 10% of my body weight.

woop Grin

FiveGoMadInDorset · 20/08/2014 19:33

cru big pat on the back for you, how did it feel?

edwinias well done as well and in your weight loss

I am slight panicky about week three as it seems a bug jump up to three minutes!!

CruCru · 20/08/2014 22:29

Hey EdwiniasRevenge , well done! Are you planning to buy some lovely new clothes?

I feel awesome. I told my mum and she said "Well if you like that sort of thing dear. I'm not convinced that exercise does that much for weight loss".

Humph.

EdwiniasRevenge · 20/08/2014 22:36

I'm just happy to be able to get in the clothes I was wearing last summer without having to buy new. I'm hoping that as I continue to run and lose more weight I will need clothes that are smaller still. I would love to be in size 16 jeans for winter. It is definitely doable. I am just over 14stone now. And am in size 18 jeans which are definitely getting baggier. Last christmas I was size 20.

Feel buzzing tonight.

ChameleonCircuit · 20/08/2014 23:41

Yay! Well done Cru and Edwinias. Cru - not really one for the encouragement, your mum?

ChameleonCircuit · 21/08/2014 00:26

Should also say, I've done W7R2 tonight. I proved that if I'm holding a conversation, I don't get as bad with my breathing. When it started to go, I gasped to my friend "Talk shit to me!" She did, and the distraction totally worked. Didn't check my phone at all until 1.5 mins to go, either. I'm thinking if you've done something four times, it's not classed as a fluke, so I guess we really can run for 25 minutes at a time. Grin
