Well done dotty! Great feeling isn't it? I hope you can stay - you've been inspirational!

spookyskeleton · 11/08/2014 20:33

dotty a massive well done to you - have some Wine and Thanks Grin

Why can't you stay on here? I finished the programme 2 months ago and I am still hanging around Wink

I have recently bought Yoga for Runners book which looks really good - lots of stretches/yoga poses which really aid running with excellent descriptions as to why. Am dying to try out some of the poses/sequences but haven't had the chance yet.

Well done Dotty! SmileGrinSmileGrinSmileGrin

DottyDot · 11/08/2014 20:47

Aww thanks Blush Grin

I've checked and started it exactly 9 weeks ago so am pretty chuffed - although the trick is to keep going with it all...

Off on holiday on Wednesday but I've already mapped out a 5.5k route in Bideford - am going to try and do at least one run in between the wine and chocolate..! Grin

ChameleonCircuit · 11/08/2014 21:13

Congratulations, Dotty! We need a virtual graduation party. Grin

DottyDot · 11/08/2014 21:27

Definitely! Wine Wine

CruCru · 11/08/2014 21:58

Congratulations Dotty! Must be an awesome feeling.

Kasterborous · 11/08/2014 22:38

Aww Congratulations Dotty Grin I remember when you first started, look at you now Smile

Keep going, finishing the c25k is just the beginning. Sounds like you are setting yourself new goals which is a good thing to do, I got a bit lost when I first finished. Now I set goals like how far I'm going to run or how long for.

Congratulations again Grin

Opheliabumps · 11/08/2014 22:51

Congratulations Dotty! I'm off on holiday tomorrow and also taking my running gear Grin

FitByForty · 12/08/2014 11:22

Well done Dotty! What an inspiration.

W4R1 done for me this morning. I really wasn't looking forward to it and was convinced I wouldn't be able to manage such a big jump. But I did it! Truth be told, if I had to run for my life I would still probably die but as long as my chaser allowed me a couple of breaks I could now give them a fight for a total of 16 minutes!! That feels pretty good Grin

CruCru · 12/08/2014 16:25

W5R2 done! It turns out I can run for eight minutes without stopping.

ChameleonCircuit · 12/08/2014 19:21

Yaaaay! Brilliant, CruCru

DottyDot · 12/08/2014 20:07

Fantastic Crucru!! 8 minutes is a long time - big jump up time-wise - great stuff!

CruCru · 12/08/2014 23:40

Thanks! Am really looking forward to running for 20 minutes now. I've washed all my running kit in readiness.

lovelidl · 13/08/2014 17:26

Just back from my first ever non stop 10k - very proud of myself!

Hoping my motivation doesn't go after my holidays - I started running to loose weight so I looked half decent on the beach! So thinking of registering for a race in the new year to keep me going - a half marathon maybe?? Or do you think that would be a step too far?

CruCru · 13/08/2014 18:12

Oh wow, you must feel awesome! Yeah, why not?

spookyskeleton · 13/08/2014 18:31

lovelidl well done, fabulous achievement Grin Grin

Well done.

I idid w3r3 today.

I found it really tough compared to r1 &2. It took a LOT of willpower to finish both 3min runs.

according to strava I rain an extra 100m but I know I did d more than that because I ran the same route as r2 and I'm sure I was at least 200-300m further along at the end (I had to start an extra lap of my route) so I know I pushed myself harder.

Next run is a week 4 run with 2 scary 5min run.

WastingMyYoungYears · 13/08/2014 20:26

Edwinias, I did W3R3 today too Smile. And I'm similarly dreading the next run!

ChameleonCircuit · 13/08/2014 21:33

Just got back from W6R3, 22 whole minutes non-stop! Three PBs too - 1k,1mile and 2 miles. It's not quite sunk in yet. There's no more walking now, it's just runs. Shock

Well done on your W3 runs Edwinias and Wasting. The anticipation is worse than the run!

lovelidl · 13/08/2014 21:34

Meant to say, I am reading Run Like A Girl on my kindle just now - interesting and inspiring. Worth a look.

dizzyday07 · 14/08/2014 09:16

Since doing W8R3 on 12th July, I had only done a W3 session with DD since we got back from holiday but last night decided to jump straight on back up to W9R1. I have been suffering from an intermittent cough but it was fine when I was out - though it made it's presence felt for the rest of the evening!

I went across country which involves a quite challenging uphill section between minutes 10-18 and although my shadow looked like I was a drunk on a Saturday night I kept up my VERY slow pace the whole way.

3.75k covered (including warm up & down) which isn't great but I will use it as a bench mark for forthcoming runs.

stilllearnin · 14/08/2014 09:20

dizzy - well done for getting back on it. It will be 3 weeks break for me by the time I am able to get the next run in.

EdwiniasRevenge · 14/08/2014 09:36

wasting I have a sneaky plan....

W5 looks even scarier than W4...if we keep failing W4 then we will never have to move on to scary W5.....why didn't I think of this earlier. Are you in???

WastingMyYoungYears · 14/08/2014 10:03

Edwinias Grin, that sounds like a great plan.

Aren't weeks 5 & 6 transition weeks, and therefore terrifying Confused?
