Wow, well done Dotty! Hope I do that well at week 9. Grin

WastingMyYoungYears · 07/08/2014 20:17

Well done Dotty, that's great Smile. I can't imagine running for even 30mins though!

I did W2R3 today Smile, I quite enjoyed it. Is it a big step up to W3R1?

Yoohoo, Edwinias, how are you getting on?

CruCru · 07/08/2014 20:21

I must admit that I can't even imagine running for 20 minutes nonstop. Next week is week 5 and I think W5R3 is a straight 20 minute run.

CruCru · 07/08/2014 20:22

In W3, I think you run for 1.5 mins then walk then run for 3 mins then walk and then repeat.

WastingMyYoungYears · 07/08/2014 20:22

CruCru, I can't either Grin, I have no idea why I wrote that Grin.

CruCru · 07/08/2014 20:24

But think how AWESOME you will feel after you do. It must be a great feeling.

WastingMyYoungYears · 07/08/2014 20:24

Yes, I just checked it out too - so W3 is only 9 mins of running in total, which is the same as W2.

WastingMyYoungYears · 07/08/2014 20:25

Smile I think you're right. I can't wait Smile.

CruCru · 07/08/2014 20:27

Nor me! I get a bit sulky on rest days. Even though I know that they are required.

ChameleonCircuit · 07/08/2014 22:24

I warn you, ladies - completing W5R3 (20 mins non-stop) made me cry. Blush

EdwiniasRevenge · 07/08/2014 22:35

Ive just done W2r3.

it was a slow run. Only covered 2.9km but I wasn't in the mood for running so deliberately ran a slow pace so I don't crash and fail. Feeling slightly more confident about W3 whicb is 90sec 3min 90sec 3min runs.

as you say wasting - I am trying to tell myself it is the same amount of running. I am going to try it although not sure I will manage the 3min runs. My personal goal on R1 will be to complete the first 3run segments and take it from there.

does anyone else think the choice of songs is infuriatingly apt..."long distance thing" "one more mile"....

CruCru · 07/08/2014 22:52

Well done EdwiniasRevenge!

I think the music is all done by a company who put together running playlists. There's something about it on the NHS website.

Some of the music I really like and some is bloody awful.

Wonc · 08/08/2014 00:26

I play my own music - mostly The Cure.
But also some 80s pop Blush.

I'm about to do W2R3, same as Wasting.
I had two largish glasses of red wine last night though and am feeling decidedly sluggish today.
I'm hoping the run will invigorate me rather than make me want to throw up. Fingers crossed.

Wonc · 08/08/2014 00:28

Oh I've just seen Edwinias is on W2R3 too.

Wonc · 08/08/2014 00:32

Dotty my weight is coming off ever so slowly too - 200 grams or so at a time, which, don't get me wrong, is good. But it would be nice to get on the scale and see a kilo or two come off!

I am almost in my healthy weight range for my height, so it will be a celebratory day when that happens.

Wonc · 08/08/2014 05:29

Yep, just as I suspected, wine and running don't mix.
Had a really tough run for W2R3. I was counting down the minutes until I could go home.

On the plus side, I ran in daylight for the first time. Usually I skulk about under the cover of darkness. It was quite nice and my dog appreciated it. She really does not enjoy the night time/ early morning starts. Grin

ChameleonCircuit · 08/08/2014 09:44

But you still completed it, Wonc, and that's what counts. You know now to save the wine for when you have a rest day to come!

I will be doing W6R2 on Sunday. My running buddy asked if I would be doing our local Parkrun but I think I want to be more confident of running 30 mins non-stop before I do. I'd hate to piss off the tail runner! Blush

EdwiniasRevenge · 08/08/2014 10:46

I've woken up in a very frustrated mood.
I fancy a run.
But my last run was at 9pm last night.
This is a bad idea isn't it?

WastingMyYoungYears · 08/08/2014 11:23

Chameleon, is there a tail runner at Parkruns? I've done a few years ago, and don't remember there being one.

Edwinias, nope, you should rest, not run! Maybe a brisk walk or a swim would be okay?

EdwiniasRevenge · 08/08/2014 11:38

Its tempting.

I don't want to run tomorrow cos I have stuff on...

ChameleonCircuit · 08/08/2014 11:55

I'm only going on what I've read and the results. The last finisher always seems to be at least twice their PB time, so I assume they're just plodding along with the slow ones.

WastingMyYoungYears · 08/08/2014 12:04

Oh, I didn't know that.

WastingMyYoungYears · 08/08/2014 12:04

Edwinias, you get an extra day off per week if you do 3 runs per week anyway.

CruCru · 08/08/2014 12:08

W4R3 done! According to Map my Run, I did 3.7km.

I love my new trainers. I have had no knee pain today.
