Thought I would start a new thread for us to continue our chat Smile

I was trying to set it up last night and was convinced it was faulty as it wouldn't connect with the satellite. Turns out you need to be outside to give it a fighting chance of seeing the satellite Blush

DottyDot · 03/08/2014 20:25

oooh do you think that should be a completing C25K treat then? cos I really want a fitbit... Grin

We also need some kind of MN graduation ceremony it'll be the only one I've ever had which involves plonk and chocolate Grin

EdwiniasRevenge · 03/08/2014 21:14

wasting don't worry about covering less ground. I did too with my W2R1. I deliberately slowed the pace so I didn't crash and burn and fail to complete it.

I will try and push myself a bit more for W2R2 to cover more distance.

WastingMyYoungYears · 03/08/2014 21:27

Edwinias Smile, okay. I'll relax, and see how W2R2 goes.

CruCru · 03/08/2014 21:38

I think it is a very sensible completing C25k treat.

I would love a graduation ceremony.

ChameleonCircuit · 03/08/2014 22:52

Hi all. Can I shout please? TODAY I RAN FOR 20 MINUTES NON STOP!!!!!! I'm still grinning like a loon....when we'd finished I had a little blub. Blush

Massive cheers to everyone else running today - sorry, it's late and I can't scroll back to see who's done what today.

DottyDot · 03/08/2014 23:09

Woohoo chameleon!!!! Well done!! There's something about 20 minutes isn't there - I had a bit of a cry too..! Fantastic stuff Grin.

lovelidl · 04/08/2014 06:33

Yay! Well done Chameleon! Grin

CruCru · 04/08/2014 08:12

Oh good work!

stilllearnin · 04/08/2014 13:09

arghhh! summer is taking its toll on all my plans and now i am feeling demotivated. All I want to do is to keep 30 min sessions going until Sep then I am going to start a 10k plan, but I last ran 2 weeks ago and now I cannot even begin to imagine how I did that. Next free time is Wednesday - will report back.

stilllearnin · 04/08/2014 13:10

oh and chameleon fantastic news. Well done - keep going! Smile

CruCru · 04/08/2014 13:11

W4R1 done! I feel AMAZING!

ChameleonCircuit · 04/08/2014 17:34

Brilliant, CruCru!

Stilllearnin - consider yourself kicked up the bum! Don't let all that hard work go to waste. Get back out there and join us runners again. Grin

CruCru · 04/08/2014 17:53

Has anyone else been eyeing up cool running gear? All the chat about running once it's Autumn has inspired me to start checking out long-sleeved tops and full length running tights (however, my usual response to any new enthusiasm is to start shopping for it).

EdwiniasRevenge · 04/08/2014 18:30

I've just done W2R2.

I felt as though I was running faster than last time (where I deliberately slowed my pace to ensure I didn't crash).

I covered the same distance as last time, but am a lot more knackered. I can't see me running for 3 mins next week. I'm finding the 90sec runs at the limit of my comfort zone.

stilllearnin · 04/08/2014 19:20

Thanks chameleon. Really dont want to let it go to waste. Yep I have been eyeing up new gear too!! Just today as it happens.

Phoenixwoman · 04/08/2014 19:54

Well done chameleon and cru. Was all set to go out tonight but dh has had to visit a relative in hospital and is working late tomorrow. Might consider a late run tomorrow evening, it gets me nervous if I leave too much of a gap if I leave it longer than 2 days.

I've so far purchased some full length lycra leggings (which I pair with one of dh's t-shirts) and new running trainers (childs size so cheap) and an arm strap that holds my iphone.

addictedtosugar · 04/08/2014 21:22

I've just been shopping today, to buy shorts. I'm just too HOT in 3/4 leggings and sleeveless tee atm.
Or maybe it was just running mid afternoon yesterday that did it. Normally an evening runner!

CruCru · 04/08/2014 21:41

That sounds great EdwiniasRevenge. Next week you can go a bit slower so that you can keep going longer. When I started I couldn't run at all really and I'm now on 5 minute stretches (and I am much too fat so not the sort of person you would think of as athletic).

CruCru · 04/08/2014 21:43

I approve of the shopping Phoenixwoman and addictedtosugar.

Phoenixwoman - are you actually in Arizona?

Opheliabumps · 04/08/2014 21:59

Hi all, mind if I join you? I got to week 7 a couple of months ago then stopped when work and home life got too busy. I've just started running again with a week 6 run of 2x10 minutes, and I'm struggling with it.

I've got a 5k assault course run in 6 weeks, which I'm doing for charity with a group of fellow mums, so I need lots of motivation to get me back up to one long run, and up to 5k in distance, as I only managed about 3k tonight.

EdwiniasRevenge · 04/08/2014 23:03

Thanks CruCru.

3months ago I struggled with 15-20sec, but I've been working on it. Have been "measuring" my intervals with lamposts.

I'm size 18 (although getting closer to 16) and its all on my legs so not athletic at all. If I don't find the next run much more "comfortable" I might sit on W2 for another week....or is that cheating myself? Maybe it will be ok cos it is only 4 runs instead of 6?

I run in a pair of full length running legginings/tights and they are soooo much more comfortable than normal tracksuit bottoms. I have running shoes, but run in whatever vest top I have to hand. I also just run in a "normal" bra alhough the one I have set aside for running is pretty supportive I think that will be my next investment.

CruCru · 05/08/2014 08:53

Hi Opheliabumps!

CruCru · 05/08/2014 08:54

Does anyone else feel like their legs are buzzing the day after a run? If so, what causes it?

Wonc · 05/08/2014 11:55

I have just completed W2 R1and am enjoying the marginal improvements to my fitness. I am finding I am deliberately taking the stairs at work now and walking the long way. Also eating slightly healthier.

I cannot ever imagine running 20 minutes but I do look forward to it and am enjoying reading all your accomplishments.

Are there any other ex-smokers here? I quit years ago, but have found I run out of breath quite easily...
