Logging my daily JM fix and getting advice and motivation has been great over the past two months so here is a thread for all those of you who want to do the same again or for the first time. Come on, summer's nearly here and your butt's got Jillian's name on it Smile

Well done tabulahrasa, will you carry on with it after you've finished or try something else?

PrivateBenjamin, yes I also struggled a bit with those in L1, but not as bad as these in L2. think I'm also lacking in the anterior muscle area Grin

Right must get up and get on with D5.

BetterWithCheese · 24/05/2014 20:29

30DS L3D3 done. Still very sweaty but seems easier than level 2 but that might be because I have to switch to the adapted versions of things after a few (jump lunges, mountain climbers).

tabulah you're nearly there!!

Lambzig · 25/05/2014 12:43

Ri30D9 done. I think I should move to level 3 now as I feel I am starting to find it easy, but scared of level 3 (there are 4 levels in RI30). Was hoping yadah would have started it and could tell me it's not so bad.

BetterWithCheese · 25/05/2014 15:58

L3D4 done. I really wasn't up for it today but got it done.

Lambzig I watched a bit if Ri30 level 3 and even the warm-up looked intense. That said, I'm sure you can do it!

GandTnow · 25/05/2014 18:15

Ok, quick question for you long time Shredders. Have been away for two weeks and not done any JM. On returning I've done the 1st two days of level 1 again. Today I can hardly walk! My question is: Should I do it again today (to the best of my sore legged ability) or give it a day off to help my legs?! Grin

Lambzig · 25/05/2014 19:38

Definitely do it again, but do more stretching at the end. Either rewind and do the same twice or do some more stretches yourself. But once you are warmed up it won't hurt too much.

GandTnow · 26/05/2014 09:48

Did it again last night. I felt fine when I was doing it, it was afterwards I was rather limpy! Feeling a bit easier today - hopefully I'll be alright for a bit of time in the garden weeding!

AnyaKnowIt · 26/05/2014 12:00

Just done day 4 of level 1.

Not as achey now, and please to say I've stopped walking like John Wayne i think

BetterWithCheese · 26/05/2014 12:39

L3D5 done. I was going to have a rest day tomorrow but think I'll swap it to Wednesday which is my birthday. I'm getting better at the mountain climbers but still can't do full intervals without changing to the modified ones.

Well done Anya it does get better.

GandT good job on powering through. You've just encouraged me to never take two weeks off, I don't ever want to hurt like I did at the start. I quite like the soreness of a good workout but not the excruciating pain I felt at the beginning!

tabulahrasa · 26/05/2014 12:45

30DSL3D8...I took yesterday off for a hangover, lol

Toriana - I'm going to do Ri30 on the wimpy moves and then start again trying to do the advanced ones and up my weights a bit.

AnyaKnowIt · 26/05/2014 12:51

Thanks BetterWithCheese, I feel better but that doesn't stop dd saying look mummy pink!

Happy birthday for Wednesday!

BetterWithCheese · 26/05/2014 13:16

Thanks Anya! My son sometimes unhelpfully cheerleads by copying whatever Jillian says, things like "yeah Mummy, don't drop your arms, why have you stopped, the lady said don't stop". He actually seemed quite alarmed by how out if breath I was on The first day of level 3, I had to reassure him that it was good for me!

tabulahrasa · 26/05/2014 13:21

"I feel better but that doesn't stop dd saying look mummy pink!"

I have teenagers...they actually just laugh at me, weirdly I try and do it when they're not in, lol

MegBusset · 27/05/2014 07:44

Just done shred level 3 for the first ever time.

Omg jumping lunges... my poor knees :(

And that horrific strength circuit with the travelling push ups!

And I can't even do the modified version of a sit up :(

I thought I was getting fairly fit after levels 1 and 2 but feel in bits after attempting this!

yadahyadah · 27/05/2014 09:55

Back from camping and hungover and just managed Ri30 L3D1. It's hard but not much harder than L2, just a different kind of hard if that makes sense. Well done all for keeping it up. "Transformation is a present activity" ... and all that

OP posts:
Lambzig · 27/05/2014 10:40

Wow yadah, you must be way fitter than me, I have just done RI30 L3D1 this morning too and it nearly killed me (was coming on to say that no wonder you hadn't been around for the last few days as l3 had obviously finished you off - glad it's not so). So hard, it's all legs and triceps. Managed to get through it all except those reverse sumo squats with a crunch. I simply can't get up again and was flailing around like a wet fish. Felt every one of my 47 years and think I need to go back to 2kg for those abdominal so with weights exercises..

Obviously the different kind of hard that I can't do. Feel like limping back to L2 for a few days, but that would be cheating.

Oh well, at least I showed up in my own life this morning.

tabulahrasa · 27/05/2014 10:44

30DSL3D9

I'm ok with the travelling push ups, on my knees obviously, lol, it does get a bit easier as you get into it. I find the walking plank harder - that kills me.

Jumping lunges Blush I manage about 4 and then switch to the woosy version.

ImogenQuy · 27/05/2014 11:01

30DSL1D8. I probably ought to move up to L2 as L1 feels fairly easy but am a bit scared!

BetterWithCheese · 27/05/2014 11:11

Meg I think level 3 gets easier. Like tabulah I'm also doing the walking push-ups and planks on my knees. I do find the plank on weights, donkey kick one quite hard though. I think it's my favourite level but it is hard.

AnyaKnowIt · 27/05/2014 11:14

Day 5 of level 1 done

tabulahrasa · 27/05/2014 11:18

I can now do some of the plank ones on my toes before collapsing on to my knees, lol, but not the push ups...my arms just aren't strong enough, or I'm too heavy, or probably a combination of both, rofl

The planks on weights one - can you actually do it on your weights? I have to have the weights on the ground next to my hands, it might be because I've got round weights though? Or is my balance not good enough?

yadahyadah · 27/05/2014 12:01

Lambzig maybe my hangover served as a strange anaesthetic... Don't think I am that fit but having done Shred once and then progressed straight on to to Ripped I think you just naturally get that bit sproingier if you catch my drift. The triceps had me grunting and the hilarious rock and roll crunches were a sight to behold but I can tell that by day 4 I - and you - will be feeling far more capable in the movements. Also I thought to myself this morning as I lay in bed contemplating the new level, if you don't do the first couple of days badly, you just never get to do it well at all.

OP posts:
Lambzig · 27/05/2014 12:01

Tabulah, I think it's a balance thing. I have round dumbells if that's what you mean and it was a bit wobbly at first.

Lambzig · 27/05/2014 12:04

Yadah, I too did shred and then straight on to ripped, so maybe the same, but I am more wimpy. You are right, by day six I will be thinking its easy, but I am very fed up by not being able to get back up in those roll back thingys. .

tabulahrasa · 27/05/2014 12:07

Oh, I just couldn't do it, I'll maybe try doing them on the weights tomorrow... If I fall, it's your fault, lol
