Just been looking at youtubes of box push-up - I'd not seen that before. think I'll try some of those in addition to the inclined ones (and also triceps dips, and planks because some of my problem must be core as well as upper bod). I'm getting fed up not being able to full Big Girl pushups still despite definitely being a lot stronger and fitter!

ErrolTheDragon · 09/06/2014 11:29

ok, think I was in the right position, the box pushup felt quite easy (easier than the JM modified ones). So I think I'll stick to the inclined ones. Smile

IdkickJilliansAss · 09/06/2014 14:42

NMTZ done. I've got a Shaun T dvd now so i'm just watching that through

Well done, failure!

Thanks for tips re press ups too, will Youtube it and check I am doing box press ups correctly!

Jacksterbear · 09/06/2014 16:27

Great results failure, well done.

Get back on it, oky!

spinning that sounds worrying. Hope the student turns up.

idkick which Shaun DVD?

Focus T25 "lower body focus" done today. It has a killer bit where you have to pulse in a squat and then just hold the squat position for what seems like a looooong time. I have randomly discovered that sucking a sweet helps during this bit - after reading a thread on here about baby teething granules only working because sugar/sweetness is a natural painkiller! Grin It does work (although quite possibly is merely psychological).

IdkickJilliansAss · 09/06/2014 16:46

T25 Core Speed Jackster, it looks very fast paced! I like the way he sort of sings the instructions! Does he do that in every DVD? I'll try the sweet tip as Bob Harper is a fan of keeping you in a cruel squat position. I have developed the habit of sticking my tongue out doing hard moves!

OP posts:
Jacksterbear · 09/06/2014 19:42

Yes his speed ones are super fast! I struggled at first to actually make my body move fast enough to keep up! They get easier once you are used to them and know the moves. And I love the rapping-instructions thing, he does it a lot and it always makes me smile.

IdkickJilliansAss · 09/06/2014 20:56

He has amazing stamina to sing whilst doing it, I can barely talk during cardio. I'll have a go tomorrow and report back, thanks for telling us about him Jackster

IdkickJilliansAss · 10/06/2014 14:30

I tried my Shaun T and loved it! You're right about it being fast paced and tricky to follow in places Jackster but i'll get the hang of it and it really raised my heart rate,

EarSlaps · 10/06/2014 19:48

ES&S L1 today. Tricky in places, fine in others.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/06/2014 20:05

Oh, I've been wondering what ES&S was like - I got it in a 3-pack with Ri30 and KB&T but haven't dared had time to look at it yet. What format is it?

EarSlaps · 11/06/2014 09:42

It's a circuits one, mixing up strength and cardio within the circuits. Worth a go if you have it anyway. No way could I ever do L1&2 back to back in one day, I hate long workouts. I think I'll give l2 a today.

EarSlaps · 11/06/2014 10:10

And has anyone seen this? Another box set to add to my collection maybe, has anyone done any of the dvds in this collection? I might pop it onto my birthday wish list.

Planning to go to the kettlebell class again this Saturday, then hopefully I can join the 'proper' class after a couple of beginner sessions. Might just stick to doing it at the classes to start with to make sure my form is ok, then I can invest in some kettlebells for home use. Not sure what kettlebell dvd to go for though. Kettlebell enthusiasts are a bit scathing about JM kettlebell workouts. Just noticed that SIWW L1 is on YouTube though so might give it a try with a dumbell.

EarSlaps · 11/06/2014 10:15

Just had a quick look on YouTube and her Turkish get up is really nothing like what I was taught at the kettlebell class! She seems to miss some steps.

StuntNun · 11/06/2014 16:59

If you know your way around the kettlebells EarSlaps then Bob Harper Sculpted Body is good. I'm doing it with a 4 kg bell and after the 50 minutes I'm dripping with sweat. I want to move up to a 6 kg bell but I just can't face it.

IdkickJilliansAss · 11/06/2014 21:54

I jumped straight into 9kg kettlebell and lived to rue the day...

Morning Grin

Thought I had better check in....I've been really lazy!! I'm going to do something when everyone goes out in an hour and then spend the day gardening.

Looks like you've all been working very hard Grin
I will also google Shaun T although I really don't need to buy anymore workout dvds! Getting my bike wheel fixed today as I have a puncture, can't wait to get out cycling in this fabulous weather!

Oh and my student turned up Jack, 2 days late and with his parents. He speaks only a few words of English....he's here for 12 weeks so should improve greatly.

spinningirl10 · 12/06/2014 07:07

Kick, how's your back?

spinningirl10 · 12/06/2014 10:00

I've done NMTZ Grin

IdkickJilliansAss · 12/06/2014 12:19

Thank goodness for that Spinning are his parents staying with you too?? My back is so much better thanks, i've packed in the kettles for good though. I have put that box set on my wishlist Earslaps my collection is getting large!

OP posts:
spinningirl10 · 12/06/2014 12:58

Pleased its improved Kick. I have heard of so many people getting injuries through kettle bells, I really think its something you need to do with an instructor to make sure you have the right technique.

No his parents have come over for a month then his dad is returning home and his mother is coming to stay with us for 8 weeks. We also have another 3 beds for students so it will be a busy summer! My ds loves having students, they all like to play with himGrin

IdkickJilliansAss · 12/06/2014 14:35

I think you are right about that especially if someone's had back problems in the past. How big is your house!! Grin

OP posts:
spinningirl10 · 12/06/2014 15:14

Haha it's quite big and the rooms are very big so mother and son will share a room and we have 3 single beds in another room. Also have more than one bathroom....I wouldn't want to share my bathroom with anyone! We've had students before and have always been lucky and had nice onesGrin

MellowYellowWag · 12/06/2014 15:36

Hello can I join you Jillian fans?
I'm 2 weeks into 30DS & have done it before & had great results. However I want to concentrate on my wobbly thighs so which do you recommend to follow Shred? KB&T, Ripped or Trouble Zones?

IdkickJilliansAss · 12/06/2014 18:18

Welcome Mellow Smile I think KB&T would be good for what you want to achieve
