Earslaps maybe you need to lean forwards more, with a straight back obviously.

I don't know if this link will work properly but I used on how to squat. DH was very impressed with the video too.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/06/2014 19:21

Yes... I just checked the info at the header of the 5:2 exercise thread, I think we'd got all of the squat tips except for '- keep your back straight, but angled slightly forward, not vertical'. I'd forgotten that one because I find that happens more or less automatically if I think about where my backside is going

spinningirl10 · 05/06/2014 19:55

Get better soon Kick, take a few days off if necessary.

Nothing for me, busy day and the sun was shining when we got home so we went for a long walk.

IdkickJilliansAss · 05/06/2014 19:59

Thanks Spinning will do Smile

EarSlaps · 05/06/2014 20:06

Thanks for the tips guys, yes I'll try leaning forward a bit more to help. If squats and a boob job can give me a figure like hers, Stunt, I'll keep practising Grin.

OkyDoke · 06/06/2014 08:40

30DS Day 4 done. Took me a while to get round to it, but I did! Seems to be a bit easier too.

Has anyone got any tips for push ups? They are NOT getting easier.

StuntNun · 06/06/2014 10:09

Oky I finished the shred and still can't do one press up . Start with box press ups. As you improve your shoulders, pectorals and triceps then your strength will increase. Inclined press ups are good alternatives too.

IdkickJilliansAss · 06/06/2014 17:48

Just done some leisurely walking today, will see how my back is tomorrow

Ri30 L1D2 done. Where is everyone?

IdkickJilliansAss · 07/06/2014 19:23

I'm still in back pain purgatory

I'm around but haven't done a JM workout for a few days - did a Shaun T one today.

Have successfully got rid of the extra half stone I wanted to lose, yay Smile. Thanks MFP, Jillian and Shaun.

oky it's taken me 3years of JM (and other) workouts to be able to do more than a handful of press-ups! I still find them v difficult. If it makes you feel better, a personal trainer friend once told me women's bodies are not naturally designed to do them easily.

EarSlaps · 07/06/2014 20:12

Had a rest day yesterday then a beginners kettlebell class this morning. Was learning technique so not too much work yet. Managed to swing a 10kg pretty easily for 3x10 reps and deadlift 12kg, will try heavier next time!

EarSlaps · 07/06/2014 20:13

Well done on that half stone Jackster!

oohdaddypig · 07/06/2014 21:02

jackster who is this Shaun of which you speak? Is he even more hard core than bob?

idkick sorry you are in pain. Funnily enough I find kettles can niggle my back if I am not really careful with my squat technique and stretches after. I often alternate a hard kettle session with a yoga. Is it your lower or upper back?

Quite proud of myself today. Managed two dog walks, and just did RI30L3 with 3kg weights. And I have eaten no pork pies :) still HATE duck walks

IdkickJilliansAss · 07/06/2014 21:13

Well done Jackster that's so great! Thanks Daddy it's my lower back, the osteopath told me it was the pregnancies that strained it (3 quite big babies for my petite frame) it's been fine for quite a while, it'll be a shame to give up KB but it keeps taking my back longer and longer to recover from a kb session :(

IdkickJilliansAss · 07/06/2014 21:13

Oh and well done on keeping so fit during pregnancy Daddy it's impressive :)

Hi folks - tomorrow will be my last day of level 1 shred. Just back from the final day of week 1 of C25K too! Loving it all. Can't believe the quick results of shred - however finding it hard to imagine running 5k non stop anytime soon!

Jacksterbear · 07/06/2014 21:22

Thanks guys Smile

daddypig well done for turning down the pork pies (I love pork pies!).

Shaun T is best known for the "Insanity" workouts but I'm way too scared for that and just have "Focus T25"- a series of 25 min workouts. Much much faster paced than JM stuff - the cardio-based ones are v hard, but in the whole I find JM harder for strength. I haven't done any Bob so can't compare them!

oohdaddypig · 07/06/2014 21:30

idkick might be just kettles aren't right for your back. It's frustrating. Hope it settles. Osteopaths are amazing aren't they (slightly in love with mine - obviously not as much as DH :) )

dolores I agree about the quick results. Definitely keeps motivation up. My sister is about to start shred and I was saying that I can actually notice my tummy muscles more after a session.

earslaps hope you get on ok with the kettles.

Have a great Saturday night everyone. I'm about to go to bed, such is my cracking social life Grin

knottyhair · 08/06/2014 05:46

Jackster, congrats on the half a stone!
It does go quiet on here sometimes and then seems to burst into life again! I did SIWW L1 again on Thurs, nothing on Friday as it was the Pink Ribbon walk yesterday. I did the 20 miles in just under 6 hours. Didn't feel too bad as I finished but by the time I got home, couldn't really move around too easily! Ooh my hips. Bit more mobile this morning, but not sure when I'll be back on the Jillian wagon, hopefully Tuesday.

StuntNun · 08/06/2014 12:32

Ri30 L1D3 done. One day I will do a press up. One day.

IdkickJilliansAss · 08/06/2014 21:07

BFBM done with very light weights, it was hard going in this humidity and I sweated and swore but my back seems ok..touch wood Smile

OkyDoke · 09/06/2014 09:19

Done nothing over the weekend, so annoyed at myself seen as I'd lost a pound last week too! (I lose weight horrendously slowly) Will do it four times before Friday. Alarm set early to start tomorrow, and will do one Shred tonight!

FailureIsNotAnOption · 09/06/2014 11:07

Thats it one week shred finished!!! I wasn't expecting miracle results in a week but I lost an inch from my waist, my stomach feels tighter, arms more toned and I feel much stronger. Will be moving onto 6 week 6 pack and cardio kickbox tonight

spinningirl10 · 09/06/2014 11:24

Hi Grin

I've had a lazy weekend and not done anything!! Although have been out walking in the sunshine. Too many beers on Friday night and a 4.30am finish to the night/morning is not good at my age Grin
Exhausted today after very little sleep waiting for a foreign student who never arrived! The language school are trying to locate him, he's only 13 and has come from Saudi Arabia, hope he's ok.
Will be back on it tomorrowGrin
