April 30 day shred anyone?

I hope there isn't already a thread, had a look & could only find the March one. I have it on good authority that Tesco have the DVD for a fiver - I'm off to spend some club card points so that I have no excuse to not get cracking tomorrow!

I've also taken a 'before' photo (eek!) so that I can marvel at my transformation at the end of it if the shred doesn't kill me first

I am a wee bit tender this morning, in a really good way, I love the way when you start a new level or different set of excercises you can actually feel which muscles it is working. I do wonder whether the excercises are as effective after a few days when the burn stops.

Level 2 30DS done and dusted - woo fricking hoo. Was it worth sticking to it? Yes, resoundingly, yes. Did I have my modifications in place? Hell yes - namely, the squat jumps I turned into alternate squat thrusts and the evil knee killing pendulum lunges I opted for the Anita all the way through the 10 days. For all those of you about to start level 2, do it, you will be amazed at your progress over those ten sessions. Keep it up everyone, I love feeling ready for summer instead of stressing. [big grin]

Right, so all geared up to start Ri30 when DC in bed. Just a quick question that I hope some of you can answer. Thinking of ttc sometime soon and wondering if i should hold back a bit with JM? I've only done a month of her and so thinking maybe I should take it down several notches when ttc? I know that they say just not to do anything new when preg but does that include a different, more challenging DVD?
Any advice welcome! Grin

I dont really know about the ttcing, I wouldthink you are ok until you are actually pregnant but I dont know for sure.

I had a slightly scaey conversation earlier (well scared me in that I never expected it) my mum asked me what I would like for my birthday and I said maybe I would like insanity Confused dont know where that came from.

Justn done Ri30 level1 day 1 - I love it! No where near as hard as I thought it would be, and you get the panto style cross Jillian too - made me a bit giggly when she started telling me off! Grin

the helpers ladies in ripped are seriously scary, have you seen the thighs on the blond one, I wouldnt mess with her thats for sure.

L1D4 finally done Grin had to stop half way through it yesterday as baby was too clingy and whiney so I don't think that counted? Almost half way through level 1 now, tried with just the music today but I think I missed Jillian I quite like her talking at me telling me to keep going! Blush

L1D8 done...level 2 getting scarily close now. Eek.

Not sure about TTC, I've stopped shredding previously on finding out I was pregnant and done swimming instead-but I am really cautious and I am sure all would have been fine (and I wouldn't have put on so much weight!) had I carried on.

I have a few friends who have done insanity but it is a bit too hardcore for me. I find Jillian's DVDs enough of a challenge. The results are meant to be amazing if you stick with it.

well done highlandbird-I am so impressed. I have to wait until my 2 are sleeping to even attempt it! If you keep it up baby's first words could be interesting :)

ri30 day 3 done. I am really loving this one, doesnt half get a sweat going. Am at the dentist later so I thought I had better do it early or I might not feel llike it.

L3 D1 30DS done. My knees don't like jumping lunges. Need an alternative - any ideas?

I di the jumping lunges as step lunges for the first few days, so follow the same movement but dont jump, I am always a bit scared of the jjump moves as I am not very coordinated and I think you only have to land wrong once.

I'm a complete newbie to shred and have just done my first ever shred. It hurts Grin

So I know I'm out by a few days but please can I join you and see if I can stick to it longer than I do most things Blush

Ri30 L3 D6 done. I've been on these threads a while, there have been a few people dropping out following a blueline - so seems compatible with TTC.

I've done some tabata this morning with all 3 kids joining in and giggling so that was nice, have a pilates class this evening so dont know if i'll be jm'ing

I don't really understand all your abbreviations Blush. Well I get L1D1 (level 1 day 1?) but the rest?

I just searched shred on iTunes and bought the only one that came up - it is in 3 parts under 'TV series'. Are there different shreds then?

Oh and can I just check, in theory I do level 1 for 10 days, then level 2 for 10 days, then level 3 for 10 days - unless of course I die from the pain in the meantime Wink

Was hoping to start yesterday, but DVD was more instore at Tesco than on their website, and they wouldn't price match themselves fuckwits so hopefully it will be in tomorrow's post!

I've just had a sneak peek on youtube and I like the look of it, which is a good start I guess. Got some tiny Davina weights 1kg. Am I brave enough to take a before and after photo...Hmm

badroly so 30 Day Shred is three-level fitness program. You do each 20 min level for 10 days. Is your iTunes version all three levels? Don't worry about the abbreviations - took me ages to work them out. Generally they refer to different JM (jillian michaels) fitness DVDs. Seems that most people start with 30DS and then move to Ripped in 30 (Ri30) etc.

NMTZ is No More Trouble Zones
BFBM is Banish Fat Boost Metabolism
6W6P is 6week 6 pack

They are all jillian michaels fitness dvds, a lot of us here have done the 30 day shred and progressed on to these.

And yes, 10 days a level :)

Excellent, thank you. Yes it is all 3 levels - each level is a new 'episode' which is why I think it comes under TV series.
