April 30 day shred anyone?

I hope there isn't already a thread, had a look & could only find the March one. I have it on good authority that Tesco have the DVD for a fiver - I'm off to spend some club card points so that I have no excuse to not get cracking tomorrow!

I've also taken a 'before' photo (eek!) so that I can marvel at my transformation at the end of it if the shred doesn't kill me first

Who's with me?!

No shred today for me Sad. We are at miles for a few days and I had a lazy lie in Blush but did go for a long walk with mil and the dc so will treat today as a rest day and aim to be up and at 'em tomorrow...

do you think it matters if the 30 day programs take 60? I have had to take a few days off with work and I have been poorly. I seem to be ok to do it after night shift but not after a day shift, there just isnt time, I get in at 8 and try to be in bed for 9.30. Anyway hoping to get back on it today, I definatly have less energy when I dont do it. Been looking at hip hop abs but I dont know if the music would drive me up the wall. Anyone tried it?

dita it took me 60 days to do the Shred almost exactly and it still gave me great results!
Personally I have a lot to do other than exercise and for me fitting it in as and when I can is most certainly better than not doing it at all.

Hello all! I'm new to the thread but have dabbled with 30DS before. I had my daughter nearly 15 weeks ago and am very motivated to lose weight. So I did L1D1 today. It was actually not as awful as I remember but I suspect tomorrow I may not be saying that. Thank you for the modifications WeeLors - I have a bit of a prolapse so need to be careful with high impact moves so those will really help. I haven't decided if I'll do it every day, I think I may alternate it with other workouts but will have to see how I go.

good luck better with cheese. I forced myself to do ri30 and while I found it hard I dont feel any worse for having done it so glad I did. so that was ri30 day 4.

I had a rest day yesterday, NMTZ tonight and will do day 10 of the shrd tomorrow.

My body must have needed the rest day-much better at the press ups today (though still doing girlie ones).

very impressed with shredding with a 15week old. I wish I had done it then rather than waiting until she's 2!

After a couple if days of blip I'm back on it and already done L1D9. I find it is so much better getting it out if the way early on.
Still dreading level 2 and off to mil for 5 days so going to have to take it with me and figure out on to stealth do it there...

sunshiny I also have a three year old and I didn't quite lose all the weight I'd gained with him but then I went back to work and gained even more Sad. So I've got 3.5/4 stone to lose now.

L3D8 done. Almost there. It's taken 8 weeks so far. Still good results and I have taken up running again now the weather is better.

Plan to carry on Shredding once I get to L3D10 maybe alternating L2 and L3 whilst keeping on with the running (5k Race for Life to aim for in early June).

Really missing doing any of this. Have inlaws until tomorrow and can't believe I'm saying I miss JM!

Have done about 4/5 days on level 1 ripped, but feel like I might move on up to level 2 tomorrow night - does that sound like madness after 4 days off? Ripped vets please advise!!

I went back after 4 days off and did level 1 and 2, actually seemed easier, I think the days off are when the muslces build. Also did one of the hip hop abs workouts from you tube as well.

Better with cheese -I was the same between my two. In think I found it easier to lose weight after my second because I know I'm done with being pregnant/c sections now ifkwim so the body I get now, I'm going to be stuck with!

level 1 day 10 done. NMTZ again tomorrow before moving to level 2 on Tuesdays. Really hate level 2 so dreading it!

30DS D6&7 done this weekend. Really looking forward to having a rest on Thursday. I daftly decided that 30DS meant you had to do it in 30 days (this is typical of my ill-informed decision making skills as I had not read about having a day or two's rest before I leapt in willy nilly). Will definitely be doing 5 days on/2 days off for Ri30.

I think they sort of repair and knit back stronger.

I've done lots of gardening this weekend - mega weeding session and a bit of compost-bag carting - so much easier now than last year, no aches at all.

Evening Smile L1D6 done - dh joined me this morning! Not aching at all now BUT I haven't been using hand weights at all.

I may not shred tomorrow but then I'm thinking I'll bring the hand weights in for days 7-10 before I go onto the dreaded L2...

It's reassuring to read that taking breaks is not the end of the world - I was under the clearly misguided impression that if I didn't do it daily it wouldn't work.

Definitely feeling better for it though Grin

I find that works well for me - usually do something active on the weekends but different. at 5 days a week 30 days takes 6 weeks which isn't bad. (I'm actually doing 2 weeks on each of the 4 levels of Ri30 so that's 8 weeks... I don't think 30 is a magic number!)

money - I'm not sure if there's anyone else doing shred and c25k on this thread, but there certainly have been in the past.

'how do I schedule in rest days' - whatever suits you. As per my last post, I do the dvd on each weekday morning, and have the weekends off, but it's really up to you. Have at least one rest day per week, 2 is fine, some people have more but as it's only a short workout you do want to try to do it pretty often.

my rest days have to be my work days, I work 12.5hr shifts and just cant fit excercise in when I get home.

I dont now what I thought of hip hop abs, I did the ab sculpt one and it was quite good fun, but I looked up the schedule and for the first week you do this one which is 25mins, or a cardio one which is 45mins, all good, then the second week you do both in one day, I am never going to be able to find that sort of time and can see the novelty wearing off very quickly. I think Shaun t's programs are very much one day rest a week.
Might give the cardio one a go later depending on how I feel as I have round 2 of evil dental clean this morning.

Thanks Errol I think I will borrow your schedule from next week. 30DS D8 L3 done. Got nephew and niece staying over tonight and they are accustomed to a far more regulated household than mine. But am determined to do the shred in the morning just as I have with my kids during the hols while they breakfast.

I'm away from tomorrow till Friday so will be having a rest! Want to do it early tomorrow before I leave but have a feeling it might not happen if we leave at 7am!!
