April 30 day shred anyone?

I hope there isn't already a thread, had a look & could only find the March one. I have it on good authority that Tesco have the DVD for a fiver - I'm off to spend some club card points so that I have no excuse to not get cracking tomorrow!

I've also taken a 'before' photo (eek!) so that I can marvel at my transformation at the end of it if the shred doesn't kill me first

Who's with me?!

No problem, I finished D8 L2 a couple of hours ago and tried the moves from the link instead of doing anything jumpy. Can definitely confirm they are still very effective. My arse was well and truly kicked, was completely puggled at the end of it - and I didn't get sore shins Grin

ditavonteesed · 10/04/2014 07:34

I have had to take a couple of days off, been at work and I just cant face it after a 12.5 hour shift on my feet. Anyhow I digress back on it later.

yadahyadah · 10/04/2014 08:51

30DS D4L3. Wow this level does put you through your paces doesn't it? Feels great though. Weelors thanks for that link. I definitely need low impact cardio sometimes especially pre period.

yadahyadah · 10/04/2014 08:54

So when you NMTZ people do your daily routine, on average how many circuits do you do? I ask because I am wary that my low attention span would kick in and sabotage me. On the other hand, it's got such good reviews, I would like to give it a try.

BadRoly · 10/04/2014 09:50

Morning Smile

L1D4 (I think) done. Nearly didn't due to other things going on today but glad I did!

ErrolTheDragon · 10/04/2014 11:58

Well done Roly!

Ri30 L3D8 done. Will do again tomorrow then on to L4 tomorrow.

mmack · 10/04/2014 14:32

L1D6 on Tues and D7 today. I think I'll try to do tomorrow and Sat and then go to level 2 on Monday.

spinningirl10 · 10/04/2014 16:23

KB&T L2 D8 and NMTZ circuits 1-5 done!!

So long one legged burpees.....onto L3 tomorrow Grin

StuntNun · 10/04/2014 21:59

30DS L3D4 done but it didn't seem like a great workout tonight. I didn't swear much so I wasn't working hard enough and I'm a bit dispirited at my crapness at sit-ups and press ups.

StuntNun · 10/04/2014 21:59

*Sweat much!

I didn't swear much either which is also bad as usually I mutter bad things under my breath about JM.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/04/2014 22:00

You don't have to swear, you know! Wink

StuntNun · 10/04/2014 22:03

Nobody else and I mean nobody but JM could persuade me to do mountain climbers. I think she deserves a bit of swearing at after that. Wink

sunshinysummer · 10/04/2014 22:10

L1D10 done tonight. Will have a rest day tomorrow then NMTZ again Saturday and move on to level 2 of shred on Sunday.

I have been doing the full NMTZ (with modifications for moves I find too hard) because I need to build up core strength again and want to feel stronger (I broke my arm in November and got lazy, put on weight and haven't done any fitness since). However I know some people do 'quick trouble zones' which is either circuits 1-5 or all circuits except the mat work.

StuntNun-maybe you are just so fit now you can do level 3 without working up a sweat! I don't think I'll ever get to that point!

spinningirl10 · 11/04/2014 07:52

KB&T L3 D1 done!!

One legged mountain climbers....wtf!!! Off to the gym now for some cardio.

Haha stunt, sweating and swearing seen to go hand in hand with JMGrin

NotGoodNotBad · 11/04/2014 08:32

Just done Level 1 of six week six pack - what on earth are the other levels like? Confused Each move on its own is OK but put them all together... aaarrgh!

Chuckthefucklebrothers · 11/04/2014 10:12

I think I've got a chest infection Hmm
Should I lay off the shredding for a while? If I do, will I have to start all over again??

mmack · 11/04/2014 10:25

I started Level 2 of the shred today and it is soooo much harder than level 1. The cardio of circuit 2 is brutal. I think it will take a good few tries for me to be able to keep up with the girls on screen.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2014 10:28

Ri30 L3D9 done - on to L4 next week. Stunt, JM actually says you should be cursing her name in this one so should suit you Grin

Chuck - yes, I'd be inclined to lay off it. Personally I'd carry on with a run-of-the-mill cold but if iller than that rest and get better. Whether you want to start over or do a few days extra depends how long you're off and how you feel. I've had a week off for holidays before now and carried on, you don't lose your fitness that quickly. Get better soon. Flowers

yadahyadah · 11/04/2014 10:49

30DS D5L3 done. Stick with it StuntNun and try to ignore the internal saboteur who only focuses on what you cannot do yet rather than ALL you have achieved so far with JM and co. I think fitness, exercise goes hand in hand with a kind of mental game face. I have wasted so much time since having kids not feeling like myself in my body for fear of being disappointed with the results. And even this morning after my JM session, I was looking at my transformed bagel belly - which is looking more belly and less bagel than it has for a long old time - and I was thinking 'I dunno, I don't think ANYTHING is going to really get rid of that horrible bit...' And had to force myself to focus on how nice it is to feel my arms feeling strong (don't talk to me about anterior raises tho), my bum feeling standy uppy again (don't ask about jumping lunges) . So don't stop, it's just the nit picky saboteur in you trying to fk up all you have achieved. Good luck.

Nightwish · 11/04/2014 10:57

KB&T L2D3.
Two days off as I did something to my thighs when I was walking with DS in the carrier on Tues, no idea what but they ached so much I was in agony when I stood up or did anything so settled for a walk.
Still hurting today so didn't push myself too hard but I couldn't face three days off.

GandTnow · 11/04/2014 11:41

Chuck feel better soon. Probably best to have a rest. Have been invaded by inlaws until Monday - arggh! Really worried I'll find it hard to start up again. But like Lake I think this might be a little much for FIL!

IdkickJilliansAss · 11/04/2014 12:09

All so true Yadahyadah that all rings a bell with me!

StuntNun · 11/04/2014 12:40

Thanks Yadah you're quite right.

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 11/04/2014 13:27

No shred for me this morning, my ankles are a bit twingy from Wednesday's run, & I got into work very early! Planning gym & run tomorrow, & run Sunday so probably won't get to L1D5 until next week!

spinningirl10 · 11/04/2014 14:11

Well done everyone Grin

Great to see so many people sticking with it, and the suns shining here today so I've got my nice toned arms out!

Chuck, hope you're feeling better soonThanks
