April 30 day shred anyone?

I hope there isn't already a thread, had a look & could only find the March one. I have it on good authority that Tesco have the DVD for a fiver - I'm off to spend some club card points so that I have no excuse to not get cracking tomorrow!

I've also taken a 'before' photo (eek!) so that I can marvel at my transformation at the end of it if the shred doesn't kill me first

Who's with me?!

Anyway - Ri30 L3D7 done. I'll probably miss tomorrow as we're planning to do an 8 mile hilly walk - DD is doing her DofE bronze after easter and although we walk often, I don't think she's done that distance since she was about 7.

GandTnow · 08/04/2014 14:34

Thanks for ttc info and advice. have done day 2 &3 of Ri30 since last on the thread. Also spent yesterday gardening all day so feeling fitter and healthier. I love Ripped and sweat alot more with this than with Shred.

Just hope I'm doing all the moves correctly as some of it seems (quite) easy. Does this sound right to people or am I doing it wrong? Perhaps because I did the Shred and survived!?

IdkickJilliansAss · 08/04/2014 16:47

It's because you've done the shred, RI30 steps up a gear and L2 is markedly harder but still do able. NMTZ done and circuit class tonight

spinningirl10 · 08/04/2014 17:22

I've done KB&T L2 D6 and 4 circuits of BFBMGrin

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 08/04/2014 20:03

Thanks, Errol Smile. Now to find something to use as a step (not buying a ruddy reebok one!)

LakeFlyPie · 08/04/2014 20:20

Evening Shredders.
Think this might be my 1st appearance on April thread Blush
Had a busy week and RL interfered with my JM evening slot.
Anyway managed a Ri30 just now and feel all the better for it. Might be last chance for few days as FIL is coming to stay and don't think he's the JM sort!

sunshinysummer · 08/04/2014 20:35

L1D9 done. Enjoyed NMTZ last nite so think I'm going to alternate 30ds with it and BFBM. Strengthening my core prior to all the cardio stuff in plank position on L2of the shred is the way to go for me I think though I may just be trying to delay the inevitable...

It's great reading how well everyone else is doing. :)

IdkickJilliansAss · 08/04/2014 21:20

Hi Lakefly you've been missed! Involve your FIL it'll give you a good laugh at least, thats supposed to be good dor you. My circuit class was vicious tonight and I was regretting my earlier Jillianing but ploughed through bit scared how my butt will feel tomorrow. I love combining too Sunshiny if it works for you it could stop you getting bored and giving up

ODearMe · 08/04/2014 21:32

I'm in!!!

ErrolTheDragon · 08/04/2014 22:12

G&T - I reckon ri30 L1 is maybe a bit easier than shred l3 on the whole - so yes, if you've gone straight on to it from shred it should feel OK.

You just wait for the duck walk in L3.

degustibus - there's bound to be something in the house you can use for various heights of inclined press-up. So long as its really solid.

hinkyhonk · 08/04/2014 23:28

Rest day for me as spent the whole evening working Sad

Back on it tomorrow though. Only 4 more days of level 1 then evil level 2!

yadahyadah · 09/04/2014 08:47

30DS D3L3 Knees feeling much better now I have forced myself to think of my own well being above my slavish love of JM and her girls. Found JM's kickboxing fastfix on youtube yesterday and think that might be the thing I do for 3 days once 30DS ends just to get some extra cardio in. The I will Have a proper break over the weekend and then hit it with Ri30.

BadRoly · 09/04/2014 08:54

Morning Smile

30ds L1D3 done. Knees were fine yesterday and this morning but tight calves. Been stretching them out when I remember though so hopefully that will start to pass. Getting quite into this Grin

spinningirl10 · 09/04/2014 09:51

KB&T L2 D7 done and I'm off to the gym later for a run Grin

yadahyadah · 09/04/2014 10:57

BadRoly the tight calves begin to sort themselves out from day 4 so keep it up and well done so far. Glad your knees are happy too. I found that every level felt better - muscles felt more engaged, body felt generally more in the zone at the four-day mark. L3 am pleased to say is very straightforward after level 2. Lots of people mentioned that on the thread and it really kept me going. So thanks!

ErrolTheDragon · 09/04/2014 16:41

Just back from our walk - a fairly hilly 7.3 miles, so not excessive but I know that pre-shred my legs would have been tired - they're really not at all.

DD is a bit knackered - her pack started out at 10kg so not quite full DofE expedition weight but quite a lot for a 5' tall 15 yo.

IdkickJilliansAss · 09/04/2014 16:45

NMTZ done

WeeLors · 09/04/2014 17:17

Hi everyone, been quietly lurking for the past couple of weeks. Dp are on L2 D8 tonight of 30DS and are loving it. Already seeing major results but unfortunately since starting L2 I've de veloped major shin splints in my left leg and its getting to the point where i cant jump. Anyway, did a bit of googling and came across this short video giving low impact high intensity cardio moves. Going to substitute some of them tonight during the shred, see how i get on. Thought I'd share for those of you having similar probs with the high impact stuff
low impact hiit

ErrolTheDragon · 09/04/2014 17:31

Weelors Thanks - that's great, I'm sure that will be be helpful to people who struggle with various of the high impact cardio moves. I like the note it has that it's quiet so a good choice if you want to exercise in a hotel room!

WeeLors · 09/04/2014 18:23

Oops, just realised I posted the wrong link, its www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdgnOnaSqUY

GandTnow · 09/04/2014 19:14

Wow WeeLors, I love this video. Brillinat Thanks. Day 4 week 1 of Ripped, done. Sweating loads more with this than with Shred. really like it.

Everyone is doing so well on here - very motivating. Grin

pinkflaming0 · 09/04/2014 19:16

Planned to do L3D7 tonight but the laptop has died with the DVD in it - can't open to get it out!

Am going to have a go from memory - might end up a bit random but have done it enough times to manage 20 minutes of something close to it surely?

LakeFlyPie · 09/04/2014 20:16

Ri30 done, have been sticking to L1 cos I like it and L2 was too hard
Am in awe of those of you who do 2 sessions of Jillian / day or JM + gym!

Not a chance of involving FIL in 30 of exercise, I'm certain iit would not have a positive effect on our relationship Grin

IdkickJilliansAss · 09/04/2014 20:58

Poor FIL Wink I really think it's important to stick with the dvds/levels you enjoy as it is much more motivating, even doing the circuits in a different order or missing out your most hated ones can make it a much less bitter pill to swallow Grin

sunshinysummer · 09/04/2014 21:59

Idkickjilliansass. I agree. it is only going to work if you keep doing it so whatever gets you through it.

I did NMTZ tonight as I did shred last night and this is working for me at the moment. There are some moves I will never do (surrenders) because I am scared of it damaging my knees (and it's too hard!) but I'm ok with that. I push myself, sweat buckets and do what I can!

love the link weelors-thanks for sharing.
