I need to have someone to do this with, I tried it once and got to day 3 but then gave up. Please join me if you want to attempt this with me.

Stuntnun (love your name too btw) what kettle DVD did you plump for? I meant to add the other DVD I use is a cheapie off amazon called angie miller kettlebell boot camp. It mixes up cardio then strength sessions and it's tough - there are these squat things when you hold the kettlebell with one arm and I still can't bloody well do them....

Started RI30 tonight. Liked it. No harder than shred - yet!

Jilian'sass - have you managed THREE workouts today then?!

StuntNun · 21/03/2014 23:02

30DS L2D6 done. I managed to make an attempt at the squat thrusts today although I don't quite get what you're supposed to be doing with the double jump rope. I doubled my weights to 2 kg which was much better although I think I might stick with 1 kg for the military presses and lunges forwards and backwards because I don't think I had good form for those. Also I don't quite get the last abs exercise where you twist your leg out from underneath you. It just doesn't seem to be hard enough which makes me think I'm doing it wrong.

The DVD I got was Ultimate Kettlebell Workouts for Beginners. The reviews suggested it had more information on technique than other DVDs for example Bob Harper which might be better routines but you need to have some clue what you're doing.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/03/2014 23:08

Nun - I thought the same about that abs exercise. I needed my smaller weights for military presses standing on one leg - I can do them with bigger weights if I'm standing properly.

oohdaddypig · 22/03/2014 07:40

Do you mean the AB exercise when you are in plank and twist each knee? I think the trick is not to use your bum or indeed raise it too high. Or collapse in the shoulders. If it is a completely core exercise it should only be felt in the obliques.

A nothing day for me - have a hen day and (more) cocktails. Quite stiff from kettles two days ago still so sitting down isn't a very elegant move.

spinningirl10 · 22/03/2014 09:17

Ri30 L4 D30 done!!!! :)

Yay, I've completed it....I've really enjoyed it and can definitely see a change in my body.

I'm going to do Killer Buns and Thighs next :)

IdkickJilliansAss · 22/03/2014 10:33

Yay Spinning thats amazing!

IdkickJilliansAss · 22/03/2014 10:33

Circuits 1,3,4,5,6&7 of BFBM done

Nightwish · 22/03/2014 11:42

KB&T L1D9 done.

Congratulations spinning!

IdkickJilliansAss · 22/03/2014 15:31

How is L1 of KB&T Nightwish?

Nightwish · 22/03/2014 16:12

I am finding it fine now Idkick but I suppose I have done a lot of days.
I enjoy it but looking forward to moving up a level.
I felt at first it was nice to have a change to the 3-2-1 format.

StuntNun · 22/03/2014 16:48

30DS L2D7 done and I had seven days on level 1 so I'm nearly halfway through. I'm not sure when to move up to level 3. I'm not as keen on level 2 so I may have a sneak peek at level 3 to see how hard it looks.

spinningirl10 · 22/03/2014 17:30

Thanks ladies, it feels good to reach the finish line and I'm looking forward to moving on to something new. I must take measurements again and update here.

nightwish Do you know if JM recommends doing KB&T a certain amount of times a week like shred and Ri30?

I was thinking of alternating it with bfbm or nmtz but if best results are to stick with it 6 days a week then I'll do that.

Nightwish · 22/03/2014 18:53

I think it is 5-6 days a week spinning but I watch it on Vimeo which skips the recommendations but I read this on someone's review of it.

pinkflaming0 · 22/03/2014 20:00

L3D3 done. Missed a couple of days but coming back to it it seemed not to be QUITE so hard.

Am starting to see some changes. Thighs were the main area I was looking for an improvement and I can say they look better than they have in years. Abs are more defined too.

However, my waist is getting thicker. I've added about an inch - gone from 26" to 27". I am slender skinny (BMI 18.5) so I'm wondering if by putting on muscle I'm getting a wider waist?

I'm not that bothered but don't want it to get much bigger! I like being curvy - don't want to become too straight up and down.

spinningirl10 · 22/03/2014 20:48

Thanks Nightwish....I think I'll stick with just KB&T then and see how it goes. D1 tomorrow :)

StuntNun · 22/03/2014 20:50

Pink the stomach vacuum is a good way to shrink your waist. It exercises the internal abs and it's a closely-guarded bodybuilder secret.

spinningirl10 · 22/03/2014 20:51

Pink....it's great to see it working isn't it! I don't know about the added inch to your waist, maybe it is muscle......it's not your time of the month is it?

spinningirl10 · 22/03/2014 20:55

I just looked at that link Stunt, interesting, do you do it?

pinkflaming0 · 22/03/2014 21:38

Interesting Stuntnun.

Spinning I've no idea if my period is due - I'm 48 and it's all gone a bit random with cycles ranging from 11 days to 6 weeks (that was a scary one - ended up doing a pregnancy test Shock)

StuntNun · 22/03/2014 22:42

I've just started doing the stomach vacuum Spinning. DH is a huge Schwarzenegger fan very into his bodybuilding and he says the bodybuilding crowd swear by it for reducing the waist size.

oohdaddypig · 23/03/2014 00:09

Pink - my waist has got thicker doing this, too. If you look at some of JM's girls in the DVDs they have quite bulked obliques so that could be it. Have you had kids? In my case my separated stomach muscles got worse with all the crunches. So I have just binned them (ironically for more stomach vacuum type exercises) and my waist size is decreasing again.

(Like you I'm slim, and I don't want even fewer curves) :)

GeorginaWorsley · 23/03/2014 08:06

Agree with whoever said upthread ,I too find L3 better than L2.

I haven't followed the plan religiously but am nearing 30 days now.
IV done a level every day but sometimes gone back to L1 if I felt like it.

Am going to do a week of L3 now.

spinningirl10 · 23/03/2014 09:44

D1 Killer Bums and Thighs and
banish fat boost metabolism done Grin

Really enjoyed that, didn't wake up planning to do a double workout but it saves going to the gym later Grin

Crazyhours · 23/03/2014 10:23

30DS L2D6 - done!

Only shredded twice this week, partly because I've found it really hard to fit it in, but mostly because I'm so bored with L2! Don't think it's particularly doing much for me either! Don't work up so much of a sweat anymore, the seated row thing just hurts my knees and not by bum/thighs, the last ab thing doesn't hurt or do anything? I've lost no inches, and this morning I even weighed 2lbs more than when I started

Not had chance to catch up with this thread but will do later when the kids are in bed

Well done everyone who has kept their motivation up! I'm seriously impressed!

spinningirl10 · 23/03/2014 10:26

Crazy....if you're not enjoying that level I would move on to L3. You won't do something you're not enjoying Grin as for weight loss, mine goes up and down depending on time of the month.
