Well done Lady especially for doing it with a tiny horse rider in tow! Full 40 minutes of BFBM done and I have a pilates class tonight too.

Lindt70Percent · 17/03/2014 15:23

Had yesterday off but today have completed 6W6P L1D15. Have finally worked out that I was doing the wrong thing for mountain climbers! I have no problem with mountain climbers now that I've figured out what to do. Have been misunderstanding these since the beginning of January! Blush.

Also, am managing to hold side planks much better now, so feeling good about myself today.

Going to do one more session of level 1 and then it's level 2 on Wednesday. Hmm

Blimey LadyCelia, cannot imagine press ups with a passenger! No wonder you're aching today. Smile

ErrolTheDragon · 17/03/2014 15:37

How on earth can you do D2 when you can barely move after D1?
Because its the first 3-4 days of L1 that are the killers for making you seize up - stick with it and you should ease up and you won't find anything else as bad thereafter.

I'm having today off (as well as usual weekend) because it's DHs birthday.

Someone mentioned yoga - I think I could do with adding (or alternating with) something like pilates or yoga specifically for core strength. I don't know anything about either - I've been recommended some youtubes but I really could do with a DVD so I can use the TV downstairs (I don't use ipad and the computer isn't a laptop). Any recommendations please?

LadyCelia · 17/03/2014 15:46

Phew, thanks Errol, glad to hear the aches go after a few days! I haven't done any proper exercise apart from yoga since I was pregnant with DS (so, nearly 3 years Blush ) so it was always going to hurt.

I used to use Barbara Currie's yoga DVDs, very easy to follow.

spinningirl10 · 17/03/2014 16:08

Welcome to LadyCelia....what a posh name, I feel as though I should curtsey!!

Errol JM does a yoga dvd but I haven't tried it and I guess it's maybe a step up from regular yoga! Maybe have a look at Amazon reviews. oh and Happy Birthday to your dh :)

StuntNun · 17/03/2014 16:52

Errol I like the 10 minute solutions pilates DVD but after doing it I decided to start going to a class as well as it's good to get a bit of real life feedback on your technique. Pilates is excellent for posture and building a good core. I find the workouts invigorating rather than exhausting. I often yawn during Pilates and I think it's because of all the stretching out.

GandTnow · 17/03/2014 16:54

Welcome LadyCelia It's true about the aches going after the first few days ( I didn't really believe it, but it is true! Grin)

Level 2 day 6 done today. Still really hard and I'm getting stressed at how tricky I'm still finding it. Dread to think what level 3 is like!

StuntNun · 17/03/2014 18:29

I can't wait for level 3 GandT if just to get away from those squat thrusts.

GandTnow · 17/03/2014 20:18

Lol I hear ya StuntNun the whole thing seems like sure a major step up from level 1! Would quite happily throw someting at the TV if I had the strength remaining in my poor, poor shreded limbs!

GeorginaWorsley · 17/03/2014 20:19

Did 30DS L2.not sure what day ,probably 7 or so!
I chop and change between L1 and L 2 .

pinkflaming0 · 17/03/2014 20:35

OK. Am about to do L3D1 - see you on the other side! (I hope!)

pinkflaming0 · 17/03/2014 21:15

Made it!

Went with Anita on some of the moves but nothing toooo bad. Could've maybe done with a Tena lady for the 'sumo squats' or whatever they're called tho'!

Will have to see how/where I ache tomorrow. Could hardly move my arms after L2D1.

GeorginaWorsley · 17/03/2014 21:59

I should try L3.
Well done pink

MissSmiley · 17/03/2014 22:06

Don't even think of getting tena lady until you've tried a kegel8! Exercises for your insides!!! Fabulous!

StuntNun · 18/03/2014 06:24

30DS L2D5 done yesterday. I just cannot do the squat thrusts or the double jump rope so I have to do the modified versions with Anita. At least I don't end the session lying on the floor calling JM a b*tch any more!

spinningirl10 · 18/03/2014 07:26

Ri30 L2 D26 done!!

GandTnow · 18/03/2014 08:09

I think I'm with you StuntNun, actually finished level 2 day 7 without wanting to cry this morning! Also realised that on level 1 I was following Anita a lot more than I have been doing on level 2 - no wonder I'm finding it harder. Only 2 more days left and then I'll see what horrors await me on level3 - eek.

OP posts:
ErrolTheDragon · 18/03/2014 10:33

Ri30 L2D1 done. Can't do the squat thrusts at the moment, it was hurting my back a bit good excuse or some of the abs things with raised legs.

yadahyadah · 18/03/2014 11:00

You guys seem so motivated to be doing this workout a few months after having had babies. Amazing. I was wedded to large boxes of bics and mugs of anything caffeinated in the aftermaths of my 3 much to my own horror. However, drumroll this morning I did the first day of L1 and was really into it. And having read all the positive results on this thread I am going to stick to it in the hope that I will be feeling good for summer. What size weights is good to use tho? Do not want to add bulk (nosireebob) but feel the baked beans cans are a bit too lightweight.

ErrolTheDragon · 18/03/2014 11:10

Welcome, yada.

I'd recommend getting 2 or even 3 sizes of weight, as some exercises are much harder than others. For instance, the 'anterior raises' I use a 1.5 kg pair - some people find 1kgs enough, or stick to the bean cans for that one. Whereas bicep curls/chest flies I'd use 3kg (or more nowadays).

StuntNun · 18/03/2014 11:26

You won't add bulk with these kind of exercises Yada, you would have to be doing high weight low reps to add bulk. I second Errol's recommendation to get a set of fitbells of 1-2.5 or 3 kg in weight. Then choose the heaviest weight that you can complete the exercise with. One of the ab exercises in level 2 only requires you to hold the weights while you do leg lifts so you could use a much heavier weight for that than for say the military press where you're having to balance on one leg, lift the other leg and press the weights all at the same time.

yadahyadah · 18/03/2014 11:38

Thanks Errol & StuntNun - I shall nip down to TKmaxx later and get em. Very excited about the 30-day factor. Last year I was a bit more active in the winter months than this year and so felt quite light on the old tootsies come spring. This past sunny weekend, however, left me feeling like the incredible bulk hufting round the garden...boohoo. But feeling good about playing catchup with this workout.

2tiredtocare · 18/03/2014 11:52

Full BFBM done and I have a Pilates reformer lesson followed by circuit training later so I'm putting my feet up now!

Chesterado · 18/03/2014 12:26

Hello can I join you? I've just finished Day 2 of L1 30 DS and aching like mad so need motivation to continue. I know I should stick at it as I've done it twice before and had great results, but 8 months post second baby it feels harder than ever! That said sunny holiday at Easter looms as does a hen do and wedding so now is the time if I can stick it out.

Lindt70Percent · 18/03/2014 17:31

6W6P L1D16 done. That's it for level 1 now. Hoping to start level 2 tomorrow but have now got a couple of meetings lined up so not sure if I'll be able to fit it in.

Hello Chesterado! Stick with it, you know it makes sense. Smile
