I managed to do L2D2 today even though I was feeling really lazy :)

You definitely adjust to it within a few days.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 21/12/2013 22:53

L1D3 completed. I think I ache less but getting out of bed tomorrow morning will be the test.

Nightwish · 23/12/2013 18:48

L1D9 earlier today.
What lovely weather!

andagiraffeinapineappletree · 23/12/2013 19:38

I did yesterday but not today. Have lost count! look forward to fresh start in jan!

Nightwish · 27/12/2013 14:51

Was supposed to be L1D10 today but decided to do L2 instead.

I am useless at the plank things!
Please tell me it gets easier.
Hope you all had a lovely Christmas.

Nightwish · 28/12/2013 13:00

L2D2 finished.
Was going to have a day off but was in a bad mood so thought I would try it to cheer me up.
Tried harder and held the plank exercises longer, long way from perfect though.

ErrolTheDragon · 28/12/2013 13:01

Well done Nightwish!

WhereAreMyShoes · 28/12/2013 13:38

Hello, I've been lurking and got my DVD in the post yesterday.
Today I did L1D2.
My poor, poor knees. I took ibuprofen today before doing it, which helped with the cardio moves towards the end.
I have hypermobile joints so hoping I can strengthen up to help with the pain.

I've taken some measurements and hoping I can make a difference.
I'm so unfit Sad

ErrolTheDragon · 28/12/2013 18:14

Hello WhereAreMyShoes ! (hopefully, on your feet, good cushiony trainers Grin)

Whatever you do, don't injure yourself - light weights, or none is better than straining, and if any of the cardio intervals are too tough on your knees, substitute something lower impact (punches or butt kicks rather than jumps maybe). You can expect your muscles to hurt (esp for the first 3-4 days) but your joints shouldn't.

WillColbert · 29/12/2013 16:29

Hello my fellow shredders - hope you all had a great Christmas.

Having consumed half my body weight in cheese and chocolate over the festive period I'm looking forward to getting back to shredding. My Ri30 DVD has arrived so I'll be starting that in January (realistically I probably won't start until the schools go back).

Nightwish - plank moves are really hard! They do get easier as you work through the days but even at the end of L3 I was still doing the Anita version for some of them.

Welcome Wherearemyshoes. I echo what Errol says about changing some of the cardio - the punches are good. Please don't risk damaging your knees though.

I probably won't start again till DD is back at school - or maybe the day before as she has the Monday off and starting on a Tuesday would be a bit annoying. I'm sort of missing it!

WhereAreMyShoes · 30/12/2013 12:06

Thanks for your advice, I have some decent trainers and am trying not to stomp about too much.
I think it's the jumping jacks that have hurt my knees so am doing the jump rope gently instead.

Yesterday I was going to have a rest but ended up doing day 3 after dc had gone to bed.

I've taken photos of all the awful angles in the mirror. I didn't realise my back was as fat looking as it is. Sad
Maybe those photos will be my inspiration.

daisywaisydoo · 30/12/2013 15:19

Hi, I bought the DVD today and did Level one! So I'm guessing i'm on L1D1 is that right? I hurt!

ErrolTheDragon · 30/12/2013 17:04

Well done WAMS, hello daisy - yes, I'm afraid the first 3-4 days most people wish they lived in a bungalow but it does ease off.

Nightwish · 30/12/2013 17:20

Welcome Daisy and Where.
Yeah daisy, today would be L1D1 for you. You will hurt but it will get better... until you go up to the next level ;P.
Where, I find being positive about trying to change helps a lot. Think about the photos in a good way, that every workout is going to get you a bit of the way to where you want to be.

L2D3 today, was just awful. My lower abs were really painful for some reason, hopefully will go better tomorrow.

We are going to need a new thread very soon!

daisywaisydoo · 30/12/2013 18:01

I do live in a bungalow! Grin Yesss.

WhereAreMyShoes · 30/12/2013 20:31

LV1D4
Promised myself my first break today (same as yesterday) but ended up doing day 4. By the evening my knees eased up a bit, although being agony all day.
I'm doing jogging on the spot instead of any of the jumping and feel much better for it.
I've upped my weights too. I think my arms are stronger than I give them credit for.

Well done Daisy. Enjoy the burn. Grin

It's funny, I was convinced I'd be too tired in the evenings to manage to do it but I actually look forward to it.
But lying on the floor makes me realise how badly I need to hoover. Blush

andagiraffeinapineappletree · 31/12/2013 00:38

where are my shoes well done for exercising, hope it helps your knees rather than hurting them. No major probs with my knees but go through phases where they hurt for instance if I have a heel on (very rare ) and am walking up and down stairs. I found putting one of those bands round my knees helped and also being cautious helped a bit with my knees. I am really cautious about some of the lateral lungey with weight exercises and sometimes just skip them. Haven't had knee probs much lately think its because winter is milder or I am a bit slimmer? My brother did comment on a loud click my knee made just walking though.

I am very bad and exercise barefoot but on laminate....

daisywaisydoo · 31/12/2013 11:34

I do feel it a little today I must admit! In my arms mostly I must be a little weakling. I can barely pick up my baby Grin

Hopefully going to do day 2 this afternoon. What are you all eating? I'm trying to be healthier to go with my efforts but all my Christmas chocolate is spread around every room mmm.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/01/2014 11:55

Someone needs to start a January thread - I've already done one and as I'm not re-starting till next week would feel a bit of a fraud... go on one of you! (or if there is one I've missed, a link back to here helps...)

WillColbert · 01/01/2014 22:51

I'll be starting again next Monday - will keep a look out for a January thread.

Happy Birthday Errol!

ErrolTheDragon · 02/01/2014 11:33
