L2D7 completed. I couldn't do a full week last week due to RL commitments but I'm hoping to be back on track this week.

Thanks for the bra tips on the November thread - I'll be picking up a new one this week.

L1D5 today, still find anything involving lunging difficult, like the side lunges and raises set, I try so hard to get my technique right but my knee always ends up coming over my toes like it's not supposed to! So uncoordinated.
Hoping to do a full week this week too them weekend off :)

TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 02/12/2013 09:26

I don't shred every day, but use it regularly to keep me going, and sometimes as a warm-up before going for a run

Marking place :)

Boopear · 02/12/2013 09:32

Can I join? I restarted today. Am looking to do it 6 days/week. Have done it before, but never made it to 30. This time I am DETERMINED!

TheLeastAccomplishedBennetGirl · 02/12/2013 09:39

Jump right in, Boo

I do love the shred

EauRouge · 02/12/2013 11:06

Hello. I'm shredding as cross-training for my half marathon training plan so I'm only doing it two or three times a week. I did L2D2 on Friday. Is it me or is L2 a lot harder than L1? I dread to think what L3 is like.

WillColbert · 02/12/2013 12:15

Welcome Boo! Once you're through the first few days and in the habit of shredding it does become easier to stick with it. I find reporting back on the shred threads is a great motivator too.

Eau - L2 is hard - especially for the first couple of days. I found L3 more enjoyable the last time I did it.

Hi boo and eau :)
A half marathon, yikes! Wish I was that fit. I did find level 2 hard, and agree that level 3 wasn't quite so tough, but I guess everyone's strong points are different. ( I'm okay at cardio stuff apart from lazy pelvic floor issue, but not good at anything lungy!)

EauRouge · 02/12/2013 14:02

I'm not that fit, that's why I'm shredding as well as running! It's not until March so I've got a few weeks. The furthest I've run so far is 10k.

The trick with squats and side lunges is to stick your arse out like a duck, then your knee should stay put instead of going forwards. Side lunges aren't easy, try practising without the raises first.

ErrolTheDragon · 02/12/2013 16:12

Just dropping in to say hi - as I mentioned on the Nov thread I'm having this week off while DD is away on her German exchange trip.

If you're finding lunges etc hard try just doing them slower and concentrating on the form rather than trying to keep up with the 'girls'.

deeplybaffled · 02/12/2013 20:39

L1 D7 done, and the duck arse tip seemed to help.
Managed to drop one of the weights on my leg at the end, trying to put them away. Wouldn't recommend that as a cool down move, really....

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 02/12/2013 21:12

Thankyou, i will try the ducks arse in the morning. :)

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 03/12/2013 07:47

Marking spot. Haven't shredded for several days due to bad knee, am going to attempt it today.

giraffeseatpineapples · 03/12/2013 10:43

Hi Boo and eau!!

I preferred level 2 last time found it more fun (weird) but quite like the fact i can feel that I have improved on level 1 this time. I didnt make it to level 3 last time though because I got distracted by the other workouts Ri30 etc then gave up.

so level 1 d 9 done today Grin

WillColbert · 03/12/2013 13:00

L2D8 done!

ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 04/12/2013 07:07

L1D7
Ducks arsing this morning, think I'm getting into the swing of it, plus concentrating on what my arse is doing distracts me from my aching arms! Hope all well with you shredders.

WillColbert · 04/12/2013 09:22

L2D9 completed. There's quite a lot of balancing in L2 which I found difficult the first time around. I noticed today that it doesn't seem to be a problem any more so I'm taking that as a really positive sign that my core strength has improved. What other benefits are you shredders noticing?

giraffeseatpineapples · 04/12/2013 09:28

l1 d 10 woop

I dont like the lateral lungey weight lift thingy it hurts my knees a little.

Nightwish · 04/12/2013 12:01

I would like to join.
Just restarted today L1D1, haven't shred for over a year and I only got half way through L2 last time.
This time I need to do it, DS2 is 4 months so want to get rid of this baby weight.

WillColbert · 05/12/2013 09:54

Welcome Nightwish - how are you feeling today? The first few days can be quite tough on the legs and shoulders.

L2D10 done - looking forward to L3 tomorrow!

OP posts:
ElleBellyBeeblebrox · 05/12/2013 10:06

Hi Nightwish :)
L1D8. Have an achy knee, so doing jumping jacks etc a bit more carefully than usual. The shred seems to be a bit tough on the knees I'm finding? Hope you're all well!

MsFiremanSam · 05/12/2013 10:37

Hi everyone,
Can I join? Was on a Shred thread on the weight loss boards but it seems to have dried up!
Just done L2 D8 in a bid to lose a stone of baby weight - DD is 17 weeks. Started shredding about 6 weeks ago and have lost 5llb so far, without really cutting down on food much as I'm breastfeeding.
Used Jillian to lose my baby weight (and more) with DS so know it works!
Agree it's tough on the knees. And there's always a move I hate - level 1 it was those side lunges, in level 2 it's those v-raises with squats. They never get easier!

Nightwish · 05/12/2013 11:19

Bit achey today but not as bad as I thought, and definitely not as bad as when I did first time round. Thighs and under arms are the worse.
Must be baby wearing my little (currently) 7kg monster for 2 miles or more a day on the school run I think, better base fitness.

MsFiremanSam DS2 is 16 weeks so you are way more motivated than I am to be 6 weeks in! I have been putting it off until now.

Will fit Shred in later after I have got some uni work done.

EauRouge · 05/12/2013 18:12

Just done L2D4. Got interrupted eight times by the DDs, once just for DD2 to tell me "Mummy, you have a big bottom".

giraffeseatpineapples · 05/12/2013 21:13

L2 d1 will post properly tomorrow dd poorly
