Sounds much harder than shred etc crazy.
Resting in between days is recommended for serious weight training -it is over 20 years since I was at that level of fitness/commitment!
Shred L3 today so back on track with middle aged level of commitment!Smile.

notyummy · 26/03/2014 20:32

I am still plugging away but had migraine on Sunday so only did a walk and some Callanetics. Managed Bobs Pure Strength (all 66 mins of it) on Saturday though. Had a 5 mile walk and Shred L3 on Monday. Bobs Cardio Rev yesterday and a rest day today. Pushed for time tomorrow so just a cross trainer session. Plan to do NMTZ and a walk on Friday (maybe with some Tracy Anderson as well) and Bobs Yoga plus a cross trainer session on Sat. And back to Pure Strength on Sunday.

IdkickJilliansAss · 27/03/2014 16:12

NMTZ and BFBM done, it was my first try of NMTZ and I loved it, great ab and tricep work but I thought I'd better bung a BFBM in for the cardio

oohdaddypig · 27/03/2014 22:00

Hi all - glad to hear everyone is still going strong.

Has anyone done this stuff when TTC? Exercise makes me feel great and I figure as long as its not high impact it should be ok. So was thinking NMTZ and yoga rather than shred/BFBM.

NMTZ done but no high impact stuff and took it easy!

notyummy · 27/03/2014 22:09

Bloody hell I am well impressed! How do you find the time for both NMTZ and BFBM?! NMTZ enough for me generally as with big enough weights you effectively get a cardio hit during the warm up and first 2/3 circuits. Need to be using 5/7kg for that though.

IdkickJilliansAss · 28/03/2014 06:26

One during toddler nap and one when Dah took toddler to pick the girls up from school

notyummy · 28/03/2014 07:24

Good time management! I could only do it at weekends alas (that's if I could really be bothered if I am honest...) Pesky job/commute and DH working away means time is incredibly pressured during the week.

Does anyone have reliable scales that measure body fat? I have a set that claim to, but my body fat measurement can't change by 3% in as many days according to them so j don't trust it!

IdkickJilliansAss · 28/03/2014 10:27

You don't have to explain notyummy you do what you can when you can and if you feel like it

knottyhair · 28/03/2014 14:47

Notyummy you still manage more than me! You've always been a real inspiration on this thread Smile. But yes, bloody amazing efforts by some of you.

I've been doing my workout earlier the past few days so I was doing duck walks at 6am today (Ripped L3). L4 tomorrow, then probably nothing on Mother's Day as we're off out for the day and I'm sure it will be down to me to pack everything up that we need. Monday is 4.5 mile walk round trip to music class for DD and then back to Jillian on Tuesday, probably a few circuits of NMTZ with 2 mins of cardio inbetween. Have a lovely weekend everyone!

notyummy · 28/03/2014 18:15

Well as planned I managed short walk and NMTZ so far today. Back is playing me up slightly so didn't do the second circuit of the 5th one (planks and then windshield wipers) because they kept tweaking it. Don't want to undo all the good work the operation did and get into trouble with the physio! Plan is for Bobs Yoga plus 20 mins on the cross trainer tomorrow. And I also plan a 4/5 mile walk with dd. Maybe a few Callanetics in front of the tv if I can be bothered. Real test will be on Sunday to force myself to do Bobs pure strength...

spinningirl10 · 28/03/2014 18:47

knotty those duck walks are a killer!!

I did KB&T yesterday but have taken today as a rest day....back to it tomorrow :)

oohdaddypig · 29/03/2014 06:59

Not yummy - no idea about scales but isn't there some theory about waist to hip ratio/heart health? I carry excess weight on my middle yuk. I now have a low BMI and I still have excess fat on my middle.

Notyummy - do you find yoga helps your back? Do you recommend bob's yoga?

notyummy · 29/03/2014 08:19

Thanks Daddypig for the health point - and jackster for the pick me up!

I carry weight on my bottom half which I read is slightly healthier but does mean that despite what feels like literally millions of exercises targeted at my bottom and thighs, I still wouldn't describe either as pert. I do have a 6 pack though! I don't actually know what my hip to waist ratio is, but suspect it's probably quite good. My body fat seems to fluctuate between 21% and 24% depending on the mood of the scales! I think either of these are health for someone in their 40s, but the large changes within 24 hours are a bit unnerving.

I do like Bobs Yoga. It's pretty challenging, but I always feel very chilled out by the end. I actually need to be quite careful that it doesn't make my back worse- I take it slowly and consciously think about using my abs to support me.

Sunny outside- hope everyone has a good weekend!

oohdaddypig · 29/03/2014 09:04

Not yummy - I would love your figure. I'm athletic but post DCs I feel like I'm straight up and down with a jiggly tum. I think an hourglass figure is healthier and stunning. :)

NMTZ done - I have really enjoyed working out first thing :) anyone else find NMTZ still is quite cardio?

IdkickJilliansAss · 29/03/2014 13:59

NMTZ and KB&T L1 done, thats me done for the weekend Smile

mamijacacalys · 29/03/2014 14:24

Been on shred L3 all week but started ri30 L1 today.
NMTZ may have to wait until next weekend as will be out tomorrow and only have time for 30 min first thing Mon-Fri.
My sister wants me to try the regular Zumba class she does next Saturday. Hmm We shall see - still feels like an effort to go out to exercise compared to staying in with Jillian!
You guys are inspiring me to keep going and try other workouts besides Shred. Smile Thanks

Happypiglet · 29/03/2014 18:54

Well after 6W6P L1 Monday and Shred L2 Tues, I managed ES&S L1 on Weds and Killer L3 Thursday. Friday was an enforced rest day as DSs on half day ready for Easter and had hundreds of jobs to do!
2 of the DC are now off for 3.5 weeks on hols so won't get time to exercise. Will keep checking in on here tho to see how the rest of you are faring...

IdkickJilliansAss · 31/03/2014 16:02

NMTZ and KB&T L1 done, think this may be my favourite combo. Pilates tonight but I'm still a bit knocked for 6 by the loss of an hour

oohdaddypig · 01/04/2014 07:05

30DS L 1 done ( on hols - is there a chocolate flavoured medal for that?)

Sorry to hear you are being so lazy, I'd kick :)

I'm exercising first thing in the morning - it feels so much better that I might try it before work when I get home.

oohdaddypig · 01/04/2014 09:16

NMTZ done although I always get bored in the last set. Feels too 1980s workout for me :)

knottyhair · 01/04/2014 09:39

I did NMTZ as well this morning but rarely have time for the whole thing. I usually do 3 or 4 circuits but decided to do every circuit just once through, worked quite well, about 30 mins and there's something psychologically pleasant about knowing you won't be doing certain moves again! Going to do the same tomorrow with BFBM.

IdkickJilliansAss · 01/04/2014 10:18

Do you hum 'let's get psychical' when you are doing the last set daddypig Grin

IdkickJilliansAss · 01/04/2014 13:58

NMTZ done and HIIT class later so I'm not doubling up on old Jillian today

Jacksterbear · 01/04/2014 16:04

Ooh I love the last circuit of NMTZ - precisely because it's quite Jane Fonda-esque and reminds me of doing workout tapes (not even videos, audio tapes Shock) with my mum as a child Grin.

Jacksterbear · 01/04/2014 16:05

And now I have that song in my head - thanks I'dkick Grin
