That first bit should have said that I introduced myself in Jan!!

Looking back through the thread I see some of you do Bobs Cardio.....is he the guy who is on Americas biggest loser with JM?

spinningirl10 · 16/03/2014 13:23

Thanks Crazy.....I'll have to get up a little earlier and as you say, if I'm short of time I'll do 30ds or ri30.

Don't feel bad about crap eating, we all have a wobble now and again. Just get back on it tomorrowGrin

Did the full 40 minutes of BFBM, it was intense and my butt hurts but I enjoyed it whilst swearing and sweating profusely

notyummy · 16/03/2014 16:56

Yes spinninggirl- it's Bob Harper from Biggest Loser. I couldn't psyche myself up enough for 66 minutes of Bobs Pure Strength today, so am doing NMTZ again with DH as the 'easy' option.

2tiredtocare · 16/03/2014 17:13

Does anyone else who has done BFBM think Kirsten looks a bit erm nutty, she has a very intense expression!

crazy88 · 16/03/2014 17:44

tootiredtocare I certainly wouldn't mess with her, she punches like she means it!

EarSlaps · 16/03/2014 21:14

Short of time so I did 4 circuits of NMTZ. It's good that you can pick bits from it- I've written what all the circuits are on a bit of paper in the DVD case so I can decide what to do each time.

2tiredtocare · 17/03/2014 08:24

That's a really good idea Earslaps I might steal it for BFBM Grin

Yes, 2tired, my next step is to do it with BFBM too so I can sometimes do short workouts with that too.

Hi shivari. I've not tried shred it with weights. For NMTZ I use 2kg and 3kg weights. The shoulders and triceps I find a struggle with 2kg weights but I feel I could go heavier than 3kg for some of the other exercises. I might ask for some 4kgs for Mother's Day Smile. I am not particularly strong though, you might want more or less. I think notyummy would probably recommend Bob Harper's Pure Strength too for resistance training. I've not tried it though as it's a bit too long for me.

Shivari- if you are still working on your strength then 2/3kg sounds about right. But once you get to the stage that it no longer feels really tough then get some bigger ones! I use a mixture of 3 and 5kg. Mostly 5kg, but I use 3 for most of circuit one, and for a couple of the tricep things in 4. I have 7kgs that I use for deadlift and hammer curls. I think Bob Harper's Pure Strength is a great workout, but I would get to grips with No More Trouble Zones first, as the Bob H one is a significant step up.

2tiredtocare · 17/03/2014 14:10

BFBM done today and Pilates class later

crazy88 · 17/03/2014 14:21

shivari I use 1.5kg for NMTZ and believe me, that is more than enough in circuit 1 if you are quite slight like me. It is a great workout, just done it this morning. The weighted abs in circuit 2 are brilliant.

Having a bad food day again. I need to stop eating ds3's potty reward treats Blush

EarSlaps · 17/03/2014 14:26

Yes, I do get good results but I do it in rotation with other JM DVDs. I started it with 1kg and 2kg weights so 2kg and 3kg weights feel like an achievement Grin.

spinningirl10 · 17/03/2014 16:14

Thanks notyummy I'll google him!

I've been for a 20mile bike ride today and also done Ri30 L3, I find L3 harder than L4, anyone else think the same?

I've also ordered NMTZ and BFBM :)

mamijacacalys · 17/03/2014 20:50

Still on 30day shred L3.
I have 3kg weights that I have used through all the levels but I have had them since my student days 20 years ago.
Need to move up to 4 or 5kg. Where's best to buy them? Amazon? Sports direct?
TIA Smile

EarSlaps · 17/03/2014 21:25

Wow mami, well done on the 3kgs- I couldn't have managed those on my first run of shred (barely can now). All my weights have come from John Lewis- pricey but they have a nice feel in the hand as they're quite curved with a soft grip. They don't look too bad stacked up under the tv unit either.

Agree re L3 Ripped, it's really hard.

Did L1 Killer this eve, managed the advanced for quite a lot of it (not the chair pose though- ouch). Followed up with steak and broccoli- delicious.

Jacksterbear · 17/03/2014 21:40

Another weakling here! It's taken me 3 years of Jillianing to move up to 3 kgs Blush and even now there's no way I could do eg the side raises in NMTZ circuit 1 or the front raises in Ripped / Shred L1, with them.

Great work everyone.

Now on antibiotics for the cough, so hopefully it will clear soon and I can get back on it.

Jacksterbear · 17/03/2014 21:53

Grin @ horror film; my theory about BFBM is that the music is deliberately designed to be stressful so as to raise your heart rate!

2tiredtocare · 18/03/2014 11:59

Grin Daddypig I had that name as my 3rd DC refused to sleep at night. I should change it as he does now, any suggestions? With that in mind though I've just done the full BFBM and I have a reformer class followed by HIIT class later so I'm putting my feet up now.

knottyhair · 18/03/2014 14:35

And I'm BACK IN THE GAME! Hi everyone, especially new people! After being unable to do any Jillianing for a few weeks due to various illnesses in our house, I eased myself in with a L1 Shred this morning, but I did add weights for the cardio in a vain hope to make up for lost time. I haven't been completely immobile though, I've been walking as much as I can as I've signed up for a 20 mile Pink Ribbon walk in June - have managed lots of short walks plus a 12 mile walk last weekend and a 16 mile walk on Sunday just gone. Planning as many 18+ mile ones as I can fit in over the next couple of months, but also SOOOOOO glad to be back with Jillian, and Bob at the weekend hopefully. Amazing stuff being done on here, very in awe of some of the weights being used. I use 3kg mostly, although have to drop to 2kg for some stuff but can also do 5kg for bicep/dumbbell clean type moves. Although I must say even though it was only L1 this morning, it was definitely a challenge after a few weeks off! Nice to be back x

Jacksterbear · 18/03/2014 17:35

welcome back and well done for taking that hardest step and getting back on it!

2tired wow Shock Smile awesome work.

Went on exercise bike today thinking it wouldn't be too bad on my chest as keeping upper body static. Turns out I was wrong. Still wheezing an hour later Sad. Stupid cough, do one.
