Thanks earslaps, will have a look at the JL ones. Smile
I think I may have some 5kg weights somewhere in the attic, as I think they came as a set with the 3kg ones, but wanted to try the 4kg ones first as with 3kg I am at my limit on some of the moves e.g. Boxing, but could probably manage more weight on the bicep curls etc.
Still on 30DS L3.

crazy88 · 19/03/2014 09:20

Well done everyone, feel even guiltier now for shoddy diet. Have had friends staying though so have sort of excuse. Might try to do killer later if I can summon up the energy. Think I am going to go for it and do body revolution.

daddypig the scissor jumps in circuit 6 make me want to cry. I have NEVER got to a level of fitness where I haven't been praying for them to stop!

knottyhair · 19/03/2014 09:40

Thanks Jackster, really hope your cough gets better, mine still hasn't completely shifted, bloody kids and their germs Grin. Mami, well done on sticking with the Shred. Crazy, good luck with Body Rev, I'd love to do it but funds just won't stretch.

Ripped L1 done this morning - man, my chest was sore from doing press-ups yesterday for the first time in ages, it was a struggle to get through them again today. Plan for rest of the week is day off tomorrow (doing a walk), Shred L2 on Friday, Bob's Yoga on Saturday. Sunday I'm off to Bluewater with my friend to attempt to buy some clothes for my niece's hen weekend in April. I'm 45, my niece and all her friends are in their early 20s - am determined not to be embarrassing drunk auntie who looks like a bit of old mutton dressed as a spring lamb.

crazy88 · 19/03/2014 13:35

Body revolution ordered, there are a few on ebay for around £70 if anyone else is interested!

knottyhair I demand that you be the embarrassing drunk auntie whilst looking fabulous!

knottyhair · 19/03/2014 14:11

Crazy, I'm certain I can fulfill the first part of your request Grin!

spinningirl10 · 19/03/2014 14:36

Hi all,

Ri30 L4 done and a 20mile bike ride.....10 miles in I realised my bum was really hurting from Mondays cycle, ouch!!

Knotty....enjoy your shopping trip! I come from a small seaside town and our shops are rubbish!!

EarSlaps · 19/03/2014 14:48

Knotty- you will look fantastic! Even whilst drunk Grin. I need an outfit for a wedding in April, it's nice shopping for one now I feel more confident about my body. I'm thinking about doing a personal shopper for it.

Damn those coughs you guys are suffering from, they can really knock you out.

Crazy- my diet has been getting out of of control too. Having no kitchen (so eating mostly from the microwave) then exciting new kitchen (lots of baking and exciting meals) have seen me put back on a couple of the 29 pounds I worked so hard to lose last year. I want to put the brakes on a bit before two pounds becomes half a stone, becomes a stone etc. I sold all my old clothes to take away the safety net and I'm too tight to buy them all again so I'll be careful with the cake Smile.

Did circuits 1-6 of NMTZ today. Really trying to increase my strength so I increased the weights where I could. I managed 5kgs for the chest exercises and some of the biceps. Did the rest on 3kg where I could and dropped to 2kg where I really couldn't take it any more. I really need to work on my upper body strength. I might look up some exercises with my adjustable dumbbells focussing on high weight low rep to help build up the muscles a bit.

knottyhair · 19/03/2014 18:11

Spinning, L4 AND a 20 mile bike ride! Fantastic! Earslaps, I've said it before but 2lbs is merely a big poo.

oohdaddypig · 19/03/2014 19:17

Hi everyone! How are the coughs?

I did an outdoor circuit in my lunch hour which was basically a little jog round the park and one plank. After a rest day. I must win the laziness prize!

2tired - your new name is "I could kick jillian's ass". :)

Sorry - what is body revolution?!

I realised today why my waist ain't getting smaller - I have has split stomach muscles since second baby and I thought they were sorted but they are worse since doing shred. So I'm going to switch my abs stuff to more plank stuff. Slightly frustrating and I probably should have thought about it. I think crazy Kirsten in BFBM has the same thing although she is obviously much fitter than me :)

Earslaps - my diet has been pants too. I start the day with green smoothies and by the end it's FUDGE! Help :)

mamijacacalys · 19/03/2014 20:32

Smile at knotty 'big poo'!
Overslept this morning so did not have time for Shred Sad.
Back on it tomorrow!

spinningirl10 · 19/03/2014 20:37

Haha Knotty....a pig poo, have to say I agree thoughGrin

EarSlaps · 19/03/2014 22:03

I have already accounted for poos Grin. I take a scientific approach to weighing- I like to see how a cup of tea, breakfast, a wee or a poo affect weight. I'm definitely on an upward curve weight wise right now.

DS is having an operation tomorrow. Poor boy has to stop eating at 8am for an operation some time in the afternoon, so I'm going to join him for solidarity. So exercise might be difficult for a while afterwards.

spinningirl10 · 20/03/2014 09:53

Morning :)

Ri30 L3 and a 30minute run done!

Haha Earslaps, I've done that as well! I like to weigh as soon as I get out of bed and after a wee :)

Happypiglet · 20/03/2014 09:55

Hi all...wow its busy on here...inspiring stuff.
Well I have had a PANTS week. Felt really down and 'not bothered' Mon- Weds and did nothing.... and ate really really badly... and then came on and realised it was mega PMT... not sure why I can't remember this month to month!!
So today feeling much better and mostly out of the hormonal tunnel so did L1 6W6P for the first time. All I can say is it is harder than it looks! I enjoyed it tho. Will probably do it again tomorrow if I can move!
Weights wise you all sound like super women to me. I sue 2kgs for most stuff, except dead lifts etc when I move up to 3kgs. But I cannot do any of the many side lunge various ram move combos she does without moving to 1kgs. The thought of using 3kgs for the arm stuff is frankly scarey..
I have been at JM on and off for 3 years and I have improved strength wise but don't think its going to get much better....I am happy with that at 44...

Happypiglet · 20/03/2014 09:56

that's 'use' not 'sue' and arm move' not 'ram move' not sure what a ram move is...the mind boggles...Grin

Jacksterbear · 20/03/2014 11:41

EarSlaps I hope the operation goes / went well today. Thanks

Happyp I'm the same with pmt - it seems to take me by surprise every month - you'd think we'd learn eh! Grin. Agree L1 6w6p is hard (I find it harder than L2 but then I hate plank stuff).

Cough clearing a bit so managed a L1 shred with 3 kg weights. Really pleased I got through it all, including the final circuit front raises, with the 3 kgs. Didn't manage all the push ups on my feet - did 2nd set on knees. Also, didn't use the weights in the cardio which I used to do when using 2 kgs. But, presumably from a strength building point of view, better to use 3 kgs for the strength moves only, than use 2kgs for both the strength and the cardio moves?

IdkickJilliansAss · 20/03/2014 13:03

Will this do Daddy? I'm no longer 2tiredtocare and I've done half of l2 6w6p today and will try and do BFBM later

spinningirl10 · 20/03/2014 13:15

haha love the name change 2tired :)

earslaps Sorry forgot to add earlier that I hope your little boys op goes ok xx

Thecrazy88 · 20/03/2014 13:32

earslaps hope operation goes well Thanks. Am in awe of 5kg weights! Impressive.

oohdaddypig check out amazon re body revolution - is a JM 90 day programme, 15 different 30 minute workouts that progress in difficulty. Mine hasn't arrived yet so I can't say how good it is, but I am v excited!

Killer buns L1 done this morning, starting to feel like I can move up to L2 again now but am reluctant as I remember only too well how much it hurts! I love killer buns, she is at her funniest and looks like she is really enjoying herself.

oohdaddypig · 20/03/2014 15:23

2tired Grin

Brilliant!

You put me to shame. :)

Ear slaps - hope the op went ok?

Sitting on sofa eating Lindt - maybe later :)

BankWadger · 20/03/2014 15:49

Hello.

without sifting through lots of old posts, can I just ask if there is anyone one here who uses MFP and if so how do you log 30 day shred for exercise?

My copy arrived today so now I'm going to have to use it Grin

threestepsforward · 20/03/2014 17:02

Popping in to say hi :)

Bankwadger I don't use MFP unfortunately. I think I remember someone mentioning 180 cals for a Shred workout? Good luck!

Hello to everyone else - too many to namecheck I fear as I've been out the loop for so long Blush

Earslaps - I hope all goes well with your DS's op today x

Knotty, welcome back!

Jackster sorry to hear cough is dragging on, but well done on the 3kgs !!

I'm kind of lurking and still keeping up with some JM stuff and lots of yoga.

Life is frankly shit at the moment. Mum's review at the hospital yesterday, which was supposed to be a quick job to say she's fine, it turns out that the fucker has come back in a short space of time so she's booked in again soon to have another bigger op - operation number three :(:(

I'm so so gutted for her as we really thought she was in the clear.

Desperately need to keep myself together to be there for her and supportive. Poor bloody mum. She was so deflated and seemed spent yesterday, like the stuffing had been knocked out of her...

And I miss my dog :(

So mainly lurking but am cheering you all on virtually. This thread really does look impressive at the mo :)

Take care all

Oh God I'm sorry, 3steps. Big hugs. Thanks

Bank I log it as 20 mins circuit training.

EarSlaps · 20/03/2014 19:35

Oh threesteps, I'm so so sorry to hear that. Sending all my best wishes to you and your mum. Life can be an utter bastard at times. Unload on here as much as you need.

I'm feeling quite emotional after the op! Watching him go under the anaesthetic was much harder than I could have thought. I was ok until then, then when his eyes rolled back and he slumped down I thought I would burst into tears. Then he woke up screaming about how much it hurt, and of course the screaming made it more sore. Still, they gave him some rather strong pain relief and he had a little nap (after puking all over himself). The tonsil fairy gave him a Lego stationery set and a hot wheels car, which perked him up a bit. He's there now with DH overnight , DS2 and I have come home and the stress has finally hit. I think we'll be in for a tricky few days but it will be worth it in the long run.

Happypiglet · 20/03/2014 20:21

Oh Threesteps I am so sorry to hear about your mum. How awful. I am sending you both positive vibes.
Earslaps it's awful watching a DC have a general. My DS1 had an emergency appendectomy about 18months ago and when he went under until he came back from surgery was the longest 4 hours of my life.
Bank Wadger I used to log Shred as Circuit Training for 23mins (ie I included the warm up but obviously not the cool down). Hope that helps.
