Well done Shreddies

Sleepyhead33 · 09/09/2013 22:13

Trucks, yes that was what I was worried about-the horrible feeling of being unable to walk downstairs and shuffling down on my bottom!

Bumps, yes I was a bit wtf about some of the moves. I had got quite comfortable with the L1ones so it was a shock to find it so hard again-guess that's why we have to move on though.

just had a go at L2. liked the skater jumps and twisty jump things. found the plank jumps really hard and couldn't do the last ab move so did the bicycle crunch move from L1 instead. The walking press up was hard so I did the easy Anita version-not sure that is doing anything though-would I be better off doing the Anita version of a normal press up that the Anita version of the walking one??

great reading this thread-you are all doing so well. can't even imagine what L3 will be like!-I don't watch ahead.

ErrolTheDragon · 10/09/2013 10:47

L2D4 done.

Oddly I find the last abs move seems easy - wonder if I'm doing it right!
Know what you mean about the walking pushup. I'm going down to pushup position and doing a slight dip (to the point just before I feel like I'll collapse if I go further) but feel like the L1 anitas were harder than that.

The squat thrusts I can't get my legs so far in as they do ... quite like the plank jacks. Better than jump rope, still hate that.

HaplessHousewife · 10/09/2013 13:11

I started shredding last Tuesday so last night was the first Zumba class since I started and, I have to say, I felt fitter and managed the difficult abs bit that I couldn't do at all last week so the shred must be doing something!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 10/09/2013 14:25

Hello all!

I fell off the wagon a bit - partly laziness and partly toddler DD bringing home a lovely vomiting bug from nursery which she passed around the whole family. I didn't Shred on Fri after a day of cleaning puke off my shoulder/floor/daughter; Sat I Shredded; Sun I was vomiting myself. Mon I was recovering/too lazy. I have just done my 5th day of Level 2 (I was planning on doing 15 Level 2 and 15 Level 3), so I've got a bit of catching up to do. I'm going to switch to Level 3 on maybe the 18th of Sep.

I hate the chair squat V raises. Bloody torture. The walking push ups aren't so bad because you're coming to them fresh, I think.

I have definitely noticed results, though - my thighs are a bit slimmer and my bottom stands out from them, iyswim. My thighs are/were pretty chunky and my bottom less so, so they sort of merged into each other. Now my thighs are thinner at the tops, yay! And I think my mummy tummy may have shrunk slightly, although less noticeably than my thighs. It must have done, though, because my size 10 unworn despite being 4 years old Topshop denim shorts are still unwearably tight but with less muffin-top and less thigh-squeeziness.

leezl · 10/09/2013 15:00

Whew L1D5 done at last! I had to take Sunday and Monday off due to an injury (that makes me sound like an athlete haha) so it was quite difficult getting back into the headspace today. I did it though, so I feel pleased with myself :) might take some measurements later, just out of curiosity.
Happy shredding all!

deeplybaffled · 10/09/2013 19:37

Just done day 2, level 2 and feeling a bit demoralised at how rubbish I am at it :(
Does it get any better or do I just need to console myself that there's only another 8 days to go? Not convinced I'm doing any of it well...

OP posts:
wallpaperaddict · 10/09/2013 19:57

deeplybaffled I think you'll find you'll get better. I found by day 3 I was much more comfortable in the moves. I really didn't like Level 2 as a whole but it is necessary to move up to level 3 which is really good!

Sleepyhead33 · 11/09/2013 07:48

After my day at L 2 I did another L 1 last night. Feel as if I am working harder at that level because I can actually do the moves!
I am going to alternate L1 and 2 for a week or so until I feel stronger with 2. I suppose it doesn't matter to much as long as I'm doing something.

I can't imagine ever getting to L3 wallpaper but encouraging to know it will be good when I get there!

deeplybaffled · 11/09/2013 08:40

Thanks, wallpaperaddict - night "off" tonight to play badminton instead, but will keep fingers crossed that I am slightly more coordinated tomorrow!
Sleepyhead33 - thank you ! Nice to know I'm not the only one ;)

In danger of falling off the wagon here... Had weekend off then mon and tues feeling ill... In theory I could do it right now - or I could make myself some crumpets and forget about it Grin

niceupthedance · 11/09/2013 10:48

Ok I did it... Day 5 done!

ErrolTheDragon · 11/09/2013 10:50

L2D5 done. Well done nice!

Boopear · 11/09/2013 10:54

OOh, well done all. Keeping me going here..after having a day off yesterday as my body was on the point of rebelling, I dragged myself out of bed to do L2D4 of Ripped this morning. Those plankjacks/mountain climbers getting ever so slightly easier..

HaplessHousewife · 11/09/2013 13:26

Still stuck at L1D5, was just too tired to attempt it yesterday. I did walk about 5 miles though so I didn't do nothing.

Will have to force myself to do it tonight otherwise I can see my self making excuses all week!

RippingYarns · 11/09/2013 16:06

anyone feeling demoralised might want to wear a pedometer and calculate their steps as miles....

i don't think i've lost any weight at all, despite having worked out at either 30DS or c25k every day for the past 43 days.

i went to the nurse about a totally unrelated (hormonal) issue, and she weighed me Shock

i cried

but she told me to go home today and calculate my steps as miles, and then as calories burned

today i've done 17000 steps already (i really pushed myself) and at my height and weight, that works out at more than 8 miles and almost 900 calories burned off Grin

i know that doesn't quite balance out food intake, but if i start to fast 5:2...

Sleepyhead33 · 11/09/2013 20:18

You must have changed shape even if the scales haven't shifted if you've been working out for 43 days straight-surely? Or were you already working out a lot before?
Do your clothes feel different?

Thanks for the tip about the pedometer-it is easy to get fed up when only looking at the scales.

I had another go at L2 today (so L2D2) after sneaking back to L1 yesterday with my tail between my legs! I have to say, it was slightly, only slightly more doable-I think because I knew what was coming up it felt less daunting. I still had to exchange a lot though. Does anyone else wobble through the military things with the arms on one leg. I will persevere in the hope I get stronger but right now it doesn't seem to be doing much.

Mynshape does seem to be changing though after just 12 days in total of shredding (over about 16 days). Bottom definitely seems higher/more toned iykwim and arms seem a bit less wobbly.

wallpaperaddict · 11/09/2013 20:27

My shape must have changed quite dramatically despite me loosing zilch as I have my winter pj's on and they just will not stay up! I nearly had a nasty accident coming down the stairs-by the time I got to the bottom they were around my ankles!!!

ripping it's really interesting about the pedometer, I walk 3 miles minimum each day, as that's my school run. With dashing about after a toddler I wonder how many steps I take every day!

RippingYarns · 11/09/2013 20:34

my shoulders have shape rather than blobs of jelly hanging off them, and my legs are a lot slimmer, i can put socks and shoes on standing on one leg now, rather than doing that comedy fall into the wardrobe and my wellies that used to be so tight i had to cut the backs Blush, i can get my fingers down the legs now Shock

i have to do my bra on a lower hook and some pants have been binned as they are too big

i was really out of shape, got breathless doing up laces Sad
but not any more Grin

those military presses/leg raises do get a lot easier, especially if you can focus on an eye-level point on the wall in front of you, i found

you are changing, even inside if you can't see it outside yet, well done Smile

RippingYarns · 11/09/2013 20:36

i used this site to calculate

no idea if it was accurate, but it helped me get over my weight Grin

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 12/09/2013 08:51

Just popping in to say that I did Shred last night - Day 6 down! Was really tired and had no energy, though, so it really dragged. Never mind, the point is that I did it!

Ripping, that is amazing! How long have you been Shredding for?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 12/09/2013 08:52

Oops, ignore me! Blush I see it was 43 days.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/09/2013 08:57

Does anyone else wobble through the military things with the arms on one leg.
yes. Until I started standing with my leg against the sofa for a bit of stability, that helps.

I'm just trying to get myself going to do it now.

ZingWantsCake · 12/09/2013 09:40

hi, just stopping to say I'm impressed with all of you!

I'm fighting a really bad cold (constant nausea, coughing, headache and feeling sorry for myself) and still waiting for my kit arrive...both so frustrating.

keep up the good work, I can't wait to join.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/09/2013 10:21

L2D6 done.

I was feeling cold before, the central heating was tempting.... now I'm definitely warm enough!
