Tis I, SilentLurker (don't ask).
Go Wilbury!
Dingle - I started off on the treadmill and loathing the idea of running outside but I now find that I can only do a "short" run inside, then I get bored plus I am so slow on the treadmill. Outside I am now finding it much more enjoyable. Odd. It's all about getting past the mental barriers. So far I have got over:
I can't run outside (everyone will laugh).
I can't run uphills (I will die).
I can't run in the rain (I will melt).
I can't run in a proper run with proper runners (they will point and laugh).
Wizzler - try to go somewhere to get your gait analysed if you are investing in new trainers. I bought a pair based on the statistical probability that I over pronate as most folk do. Then my knee started niggling, got analysed and I'm neutral... Proper trainers and niggle is less niggly.
Well, last night was my long run in prep for my 10k (10 days to go, gulp). First mile all uphill with wind in face. Then next 1.5 miles flat with wind in face. Then bit of downhill and wind on my back, lovely. Seemed like it would bucket any mo. Managed to cover 9.5k, could have kept going but want the first time I cover 10k to be next Friday. I was rather proud!
