It's honestly dead easy but looks really effective because of the "oven spring". Just takes a couple of minutes with a sharp blade and then I also "scissor" the cuts round the edge of the leaves and then a couple of snips).

These pictures give more of an idea - one of the "raw" leaves and another of a Christmas tree pattern I tried out for the festive season.

I'll try PMing you - but PMs seem to be a bit hit and miss now. I'm out at the moment (so on my phone/app) but I'll try to PM when I'm back home and can get on the laptop.

Thank you! ☺️

....and you @DuncinToffee Smile

I have friends with gluten intolerance, and eating food with gluten in could I think kill one of them. The other one was not so severely affected.

My local Sainsburys just changed the price of country life butter back to the original price, yeah Smile

Sostenueto · 16/06/2022 11:15

Lord Heights letter to be published shortly but heavily redacted due to a national commercial interest ( cross party) being mentioned in it. Anyone got any ideas what that might be?

Sostenueto · 16/06/2022 11:16

Geights*

Sostenueto · 16/06/2022 11:16

Resignation letter lol!

prettybird · 16/06/2022 11:35

It does beg the question: what matter of sensitive national commercial interest was the government dealing with so corruptly egregiously that the Ethics Advisor felt he had to resign? ShockHmm

Jason118 · 16/06/2022 11:39

Ruanda payments?

HannibalHeyes · 16/06/2022 11:59

Lewis Goodall is suggesting protective tariffs applied to the steel industry which could conflict with the UK’s WTO commitment.

DuncinToffee · 16/06/2022 12:40

David Gauke
So much for Brexit being about 'free trade' as the PM loses his Ethics Adviser because of a desire to break WTO rules in order to put illegal tariffs on steel.

DrBlackbird · 16/06/2022 22:21

@prettybird me too for the recipe please! 🙏🙏🙏

Labour voted for the shitty brexshit Bill?

Yes, Starmer has made a lot of missteps. He said that Labour had to do that to ensure we didn’t end up with no Brexit deal at all but IMO Labour should’ve either abstained or left it to individuals to decide. Precisely because blame could be / is shared despite the Brexit shit show being utterly and totally a Tory show through and through.

BJ signed knowing it wouldn't work

No, he signed knowing he was going to claim it was unworkable, that he and the DUP would make such a stink about it that he could claim it was unworkable.

Johnson signed in bad faith. He even claimed he had signed it without reading it, such is his contempt for honesty.

mathanxiety · 17/06/2022 04:53

Just so you know, "trade deals" and "cheaper food" while both desirable aren't going to move the dial 1 inch for me.

Ideology all the way, eh, @LouiseCollins28 ?

Yes I suppose there is an ideology there.

More significantly, if you want me to sign up to "rejoin" you'd be asking me to give up the one political outcome I've genuinely really cared about seeing for my entire adult life.

If that seems really odd, or perverse to you, I suggest you think about your level of committment to the outcome(s) you most want to see and what would be needed to persuade you to forgo that/those or to stop seeking them. There are ways that could to pursuade me to do that but noone in a position seeking my vote has yet suggested any.

More significantly, if you want me to sign up to "rejoin" you'd be asking me to give up the one political outcome I've genuinely really cared about seeing for my entire adult life.

And this is why it's pointless trying to talk to hardcore Brexiters. They aren't motivated by pragmatism, compassion or common sense. They're the Brexit version of religious fundamentalists and they will continue to destroy life for others in the pursuit of their ideals.

Me, I'm about making things work. That's trade: keeping goods flowing, keeping people fed, keeping farmers and businesses in work. It's education: keeping it accessible across nations, sharing ideas and cultures. It's science: putting people and projects where they need to be, collaborating, making the whole more than the sum of its parts. It's honesty: keeping to international law when working with other countries instead of doing what the hell you want and in the process, getting a reputation of being a bad faith player.

For me the bottom line is that Brexit is destructive, impractical and dishonest, and that's not what I'm about.

Jason118 · 17/06/2022 10:59

I've said it before, anyone or group still in favour of Brexit is a cult. (Sp. is correct).
