Reminds me, Burns night soon. "Parcel o'rogues" seems appropriate here, really. Anything Scotland can do, we can do bigger and better, it seems.

Brexit benefit identified ........ for Ireland

www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60037037

"This has seen an influx of new staff, assets, risk management capabilities and investment services activities in Ireland." A study has found they have grown by as much as €200bn (£167bn) since the UK voted to leave the EU in 2016.

Lets not forget Mr Rees Mogg associated fund was moved pretty swiftly to Ireland as well Hmm

DGRossetti · 18/01/2022 17:25

The more the US has invested in Ireland, the less interested they will be in anything that threatens it.

Any reason why Ireland shouldn't aspire to be #1 ?

Of course he was in charge. That's what being PM involves.

Absolute balderdash. The PM's time is totally taken up by representing the UK on the world stage, including meetings of the G7 and G10, running cabinet, speaking in the house and representing his constituents.

It is ludicrous to suggest that he has time to run the civil service parties at No.10. That is the job of the Chief of Staff - the clue is in the name: Chief of staff.

Sorry wrong thread.

Ghana released a statement in response to reports yesterday that it is in talks with Britain about hosting a processing centre for UK asylum seekers
States that it is not engaged in any such discussions and 'does not intend to consider any such operation in the future'

Eve · 18/01/2022 21:15

And Ghana referred to operation ‘dead meat’ 😁

PMQs tomorrow:
Does the prime minister agree that misleading Parliament is a resigning matter? If so, before he leaves the room, can he accept the resignations of the members on his side of he house who have misled parliament by claiming that he has not been lying through his teeth, arse and every other orifice?

will the pm attend the pmq?
jgw1 · 19/01/2022 07:35

will the pm attend the pmq?

Well given his Sky interview yesterday was such a rip roaring success I am sure he will be there.

When does operation Save Big Dog start?
Or was it limited to announcing that an admiral is going to stand looking at the Channel shouting at refugees to go home?

quiteathome · 19/01/2022 08:13

The PM is known for his bravery. So I expect he will be there with bells on.

.......

Opal8 · 19/01/2022 08:26

Of course he may need to isolate again.....

Expect a lot of 'Sue Gray' in todays PMQs.

Opal8 · 19/01/2022 08:52

I was out for the count yesterday with a migraine so sorry if its been covered but what did you all think of Rishis sudden departure from that interview yesterday??

Interesting?

If sky news is to be believed the de pfeffle loyalists are NOT happy with the new red wall tories...not sure calling them "fucking nobodies" or "pork pie plotters" will ensure their allegiance though?

Why has a project manager job in Ascension Islands popped up in my feed ?

The client will pay a salary upto £45,000, monthly site allowance and a bonus at the 13 th and 27 th month. Hours of work are 47.5 per week. The contract duration is 27 months unaccompanied with 74 days leave. Air/sea transport for agreed holiday periods will be at Company's expense. Free accommodation, meals at mess and work clothing will be provided. Tax free status on island.

(Odd since Ghana just told Priti Patel to shove her immigration bill up her arse only last night ....)

DuncinToffee · 19/01/2022 09:06

Sunak running away from difficult questions, maybe he knows more about his neighbour's parties than he likes to admit.

The 2019 red wallers know their seats are anything but safe

Peregrina · 19/01/2022 09:07

......but what did you all think of Rishis sudden departure from that interview yesterday??

I looked as though he was running away and very ill mannered.

I imagine that the de pfeffelites do think that the new Red Wall Tories are nobodies - they will speak with the wrong accents for a start - not a lazy Public School drawl.

DGRossetti · 19/01/2022 09:10

If sky news is to be believed the de pfeffle loyalists are NOT happy with the new red wall tories.

There was an analysis a few weeks back that suggested this influx had irreversibly changed the dynamics and thrust of the Tory party.

It would be wonderfully ironic if all the red wall comrades MPs realised that as a group they hold almost total power over the entire Tory party and acted accordingly.

It really is very simple, Boris. Do as we say, or face an election. Yes we would vote down our own government if it means forcing you to deliver on your promises.

There has to be a film in this.

The Red Wall MPs have more in common with Andy Burnham than Boris Johnson.

jgw1 · 19/01/2022 09:38

@DuncinToffee

Expect a lot of 'Sue Gray' in todays PMQs.
I am most excited to see what utterly pointless questions he will be asked by other Tory MPs. Given we had washing machines last week, do we think it will perhaps be tumble dryers today?

I've always thought the windows in his flat would be great for getting photos of parties in the garden.
DuncinToffee · 19/01/2022 09:47

I was more thinking he joined in with his can of coke Wink

ancientgran · 19/01/2022 09:48

Lots of possibilities. I don't think we will ever know all the details.

DuncinToffee · 19/01/2022 10:46

Cost of living rises at fastest pace for 30 years but he good news, we are relaxing the Covid restrictions

DuncinToffee · 19/01/2022 10:52

Sunak probably didn't want questions about the Treasury writing off £4.3bn in COVID payments stolen by fraudsters
