Mumsnet does tie itself in knots about Brexit, doesn't it?

I understand that it must be hard to police such a hellishly emotive subject. I understand it must be hard to appear non-partisan.

But, tbf, shutting down 'debate' from both camps is worrying.

Please, MN, show some courage, here. There are inflamed passions, yes, from posters from either side of the 'divide'; but we can't ever 'come together' if all sides are censored.

You, MN, know who the hell-raisers are. Keep an eye, yes, but please don't censor, then shut down this debate. It needs to be had.

I could happily, viscerally slap some of the goady Leavers- but, apart from a few, I recognise that discourse must be had.

Yes, the 'Arms' became a goady, triumphalist place, and needed some 'intervention'. But some Remain stuff also probably needed some oversight. I'm probably guilty, too.

Passions run high.

Please be sensitive before deleting.

But please don't delete

Its so incredibly polarised (is that a word 😳)

I lurked on both Main threads and it’s amazing how different the exact same news would be Received on either thread

Miljea that's a passionate plea and I salute you for it but unfortunately will fall on deaf ears. MN is just too susceptible to the barracking of a vindictive few - very similar to the Trans debate actually where any mners trying to get their concerns across were deleted and corralled.

I think the message from MN is clear: belligerent, triumphalist jingoism + xenophobia is fine.

Arguably a reflection of the prevailing political wind.

Just for the avoidance of any doubt

Ive not reported anyone on here at all

I prefer to let things stand and i agree with miljea
