Haven't posted on any Brexit threads on MN because it is so obviously Remainer there is no point. I don't want to get into slanging matches with people calling me thick, old, racist, little Englander and so on.

But I will make this one and only post. I'm delighted. We are out. We are finally out and we also have a government that I think (hope and pray) won't cave in, in the course of the deal negotiations.

We have a right to be an independent nation. No-one other than us owns our lands and more importantly our waters and I for one, won't be happy if Boris and co. betray our fishermen. We are an island nation and I have watched fishing ports and fishing villages become historical relics.

I do understand why the EU came into being, I'm just sorry that it morphed into the federalist entity that it became. I hope it can change, for those countries who remain inside. Especially the small countries.

For us it's onwards and upwards and no regrets.
