Well Sally, it’s been a Long Time Coming - on account of The Delays!

(Sorry, couldn’t resist)

Sameday · 31/01/2020 20:54

Cheers, all!

Watched the "Led by Donkeys" video that all the Remain voters on my FB have been emoting over with my 12 year old DD who commented that the elderly soldier is still European.

HateIsNotGood · 31/01/2020 20:54

Swooping in - cheers all - I downed mine hospitality as generally I'm rather good at spilling things.

WeSavedSallySally · 31/01/2020 20:55

Scary it'a gone the way any other collaboration like this has.

So glad to be out of it.

AutumnRose1 · 31/01/2020 20:55

Epic for a minute there, I was expecting Hotel California....because...well, you know!

Coppersulphate · 31/01/2020 20:55

Glad of the security on the door.
2 hrs 6 mins 57 sec to go
Bet Boris is enjoying this
Parliament square is full and it is not raining. So pleased for them

hospitalityinspector · 31/01/2020 20:57

I remembered to bring Dusty's poster over - the Accidental Achievers Sgt Pepper one. Darts are on the bar. Wink

TheRealMcKenna · 31/01/2020 20:59

Evening all and thanks for the invite!

EpicIndividual · 31/01/2020 20:59

β€œEpic for a minute there, I was expecting Hotel California....because...well, you know!”

Well, apparently you CAN check out, and you actually CAN leave! So it no longer seemed appropriate! πŸ˜‚

Joining the party with a bottle of Australian Shiraz from M&S. (Though my own county does produce some pretty good wines.)

I was thinking back to last month and the election, when voters said 'Enough is enough.' No riots, no marches, no demonstrations, no drama, just a cross on a ballot paper.

And my 90 yr old Leave-voting mother, who walks with a stick but took herself off to the polling station because, as she said, she felt that her vote was being stolen, and she wanted to stop that happening.

Two hours to go.

Coppersulphate · 31/01/2020 21:01

Gina Miller (with Bercow on her back) has not arrived and the courts are now closed.
I am so pleased.
We hung in there, had faith and did it.πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ·πŸ˜ƒπŸ·πŸ·πŸ·πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒ

EpicIndividual · 31/01/2020 21:02

If anyone has been forgotten please @ them!

hospitalityinspector · 31/01/2020 21:02

MarySidney I was genuinely shocked when you said the election was last month. It seems like months ago. Shock

AutumnRose1 · 31/01/2020 21:03

Epic - yay!

Copper I was worried too!

🎀 take my hand
We’ll make it, I swearβ€πŸŽ€πŸ’ƒπŸ½

Walkingdeadfangirl · 31/01/2020 21:03

Boris speech at 10

TheRealMcKenna · 31/01/2020 21:04

I need another knife-edge election. I lost 5lb through stress!

Limer · 31/01/2020 21:04

Cheers to Brexit and Cheers to the Arms and its faithful customers!

I'm half a bottle down already, but this is just the pre-load before I decamp to my real local for actual toasting at 11pm Wine

DustyDiamond · 31/01/2020 21:04

@larry55

....I think I got everyone who was on the politics thread - if you can think of anyone else then chuck an @ their way 😍😍🍷🍷

I'll start a fresh Arms thread in politics for when the old one fills up, then I'm opening the bubbly & catching up on both threads 😍

Happy Brexit Day πŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

Mary

Bless you and your mum. Good wishes also to mum and her Remain voting friends who voted Conservative to get the referendum result respected, and keep a grip on democracy.

Doggodogington · 31/01/2020 21:06

Cheers all, happy Brexit 🍺

EpicIndividual · 31/01/2020 21:07

Cheers to Mary’s mum! πŸΈπŸŽ‰πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Aaah - I see we're in Brexit (thread-wise). Anyway, I've lit a candle - being a Scottish X I appreciate these symbolic acts of sentimentality and, also, having lived in rural darkness (which I miss and hope to return to), I appreciate the importance of leaving a light on.

My light is on.

AutumnRose1 · 31/01/2020 21:09

🎀you live for the fight when that’s all that you’ve got🎀

It really has been like that!

WeSavedSallySally · 31/01/2020 21:11

Hopefully clavinova can come in for a drink....

Just can't believe we did it. We did it. We did it. I just can't believe it.

I still remember ref day so vividly. I looked at dd face and did a silent prayer, to give her a true vote back.

It was monsoon rain around here. Waves of puddles dousing the car entirely.

The next morning the sun was so bright, it felt like a new world dawning. I was in a daze.

I hope someone has a creative way of getting around all the music bans on parliament Square.

AutumnRose1 · 31/01/2020 21:12

Oh I was going to save this till 11pm but what the heck

I Think We’re Alone Now....πŸ˜‚

Sorry, Imma dance and laugh at my own jokes a lot this evening
