Farewell Europe!

Can’t wait to get our courts back and our sovereignty back! Can’t wait for the money to the NHS and being in charge of our own rules! Can’t wait to see what chicken dipped in chlorine tastes like! Something about borders! Control! Nigel for PM! Boris for Queen!

All the positives of being outside the EU such as - well, you all know them already obviously and there’s no point in saying them again. It’s not that I CAN’T think of any positives or anything, just that I don’t want to. Hooray for England! I mean Britain, obviously.

Fly that glorious Union Jack, that unwavering symbol of tolerance and unity. Ahhhh, was there ever a better time to be British? Never back down, never admit you were wrong, that’s the REAL spirit of Britain! I, for one, couldn’t be prouder of this glorious nation, totally prepared to fuck ourselves over to show Jonnie Foreigner ONCE AND FOR ALL that we would rather shit on our own doorstep than work in unity with anyone with an accent. What a time to be alive πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Fly that glorious Union Jack, that unwavering symbol of tolerance and unity.
Or, as it is known to many within and without the UK, The Butcher's Apron.

Hi all,

Did you see Boris's Greenwich speech?

It's strange to have a PM who is actually positive and enthusiastic.

Here it is for anyone who didn't catch it ....

Doubletrouble99 · 03/02/2020 18:44

Yes Junk shop Lil, I saw most of it. It certainly debunked many a myth as far as the 'race to the bottom' we are supposedly going to have and all the reductions in employment rights!! Can't wait to hear more about how we are going to improve regulations in our favour rather than rely on the EU's standards.

DioneTheDiabolist · 05/02/2020 01:42

Given BJ's compulsion tendency to lie. Why do you think he's not lying to you?Confused

I don't get it.

Levelling up the north? So he builds a railway line to bring northerners down to London?

How does that help 'the north'? Apart from raising house prices in Birmingham?

Not a great start, BoJo....

Clavinova · 12/02/2020 21:54

Hull Live today:
"Transport secretary Grant Shapps says Hull will have a key role in the creation of a new-look high-speed rail network."

"As part of a raft of new government announcements, ministers have committed to accelerating the delivery of a coast-to-coast Northern Powerhouse Rail network."

"The idea is to improve east-west rail connectivity between Hull and Liverpool while linking it to the northern phase of the ambitious Β£100bn HS2 project."

"Speaking to Hull Live, Mr Shapps said: "I am acutely aware that a lot of focus always goes on improving rail services in Leeds and Manchester when people talking about Northern Powerhouse Rail."

"However, places like Hull are equally important."

"Geographically and even from a geological point of view, it should be much easier to improve rail services between Hull and Leeds compared to the line between Leeds and Manchester. It's been talked about for so long but now it's time to deliver."

"We are absolutely committed to bringing out biggest cities closer together with modern, efficient rail connections and Hull is among those."

"We will be drawing up an integrated plan for rail in the north and that will be assessed by the National Infrastructure Commission and we will be looking at options for a new delivery body to oversee it all."

Katharinblum · 13/02/2020 00:04

Never bothered about the labour voting north until they won a few votes up here unfortunately. Took them 10 years to suddenly discover how appallingly inadequate the rail and road infrastructure is Hmm and now they are falling over themselves to demonstrate their working class solidarity

Miljea · 13/02/2020 10:06

I'll be cutting and pasting that, Clavinola, in five years time.

I will put a lot of money on those schemes still being 'considered'.

TatianaLarina · 13/02/2020 16:33

There are really only two interpretations of this thread. Either Brexit Arms Leavers are genuinely so politically superficial as to think that Brexit really is done - a kind of reality show vote. Or they’re scarpering as even they can see the shitshow sliding downhill already.

Either way my earlier prediction stands: within 5 years many staunch Leavers will deny being fool enough to vote Leave.

Miljea · 13/02/2020 17:46

I said that on June 24th, 2016, too, Tatiana

I got deleted with another thread when I expressed surprise, basically, about how the whole Arms thing evaporated on Jan 31st.

Surely now is when the graft begins? I was expecting commentary on things like this reshuffle and so forth, the implications; the direction of travel in Brussels.

I wasn't expecting for so many to consider 'Brexit Done'- but I guess much of the country does, so maybe I'm being too hopeful.

Dominic is good, isn't he? Envy

TatianaLarina · 13/02/2020 18:01

I don’t think he is good no, it’s just that some people are really thick.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 13/02/2020 23:27

OR (and bear with me here)

They are tired of people nagging at them for answers, when they have given their answers

I didn’t agree with loads of what they said politically, which is why i mainly lurked

But things got very personal on some of those threads, I don’t blame them at all with keeping quiet

Dominic raab is a twat,..the end Grin

... and ignorance

ListeningQuietly · 14/02/2020 18:14

The Arms has gone equally quiet in its new home.
The Brexiters have won. We have left. And their tangible benefits are pretty much as we predicted [vacuum emoji]

SpindleBerry · 14/02/2020 18:31

Tatiana - 'ignorance' doesn't rhyme, (I wasted my time..)

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 14/02/2020 18:55

Well I thought you had a way with words spindle

It certainly sounded pretty
