Anybody heard what happened to Dominic Grieve's seat?

Stinkyeddie · 12/12/2019 23:03

You might have to help me amd hoick me up haz :)

Dodgy ankle and I'm not as (cough) svelte as I once was...

Apileofballyhoo · 12/12/2019 23:03

Completely and utterly agree with your analysis bigchoc. It's got damn all to do with Corbyn and everything to do with Brexit.

Violetparis · 12/12/2019 23:04

Labour Leavers wanted their vote in the referendum carried out, that is what has happened.

Stinkyeddie · 12/12/2019 23:04

99+ my constituency staying blue

Dusty01 · 12/12/2019 23:04

If we're expecting things to be shit - and they will be - we won't be so shocked and disappointed. We'll be prepared.

For those who thought they were voting for the greater good ... I wonder when they'll realise just what they've done. Of course it will hit some people harder than others.

But I wonder when the truth of what they've brought upon themselves will begin to be revealed.

BigChocFrenzy · 12/12/2019 23:04

You want an "if only" ?

If only Remainer MPs had accepted reality at the 3rd attempt of May's WA

That would have lanced the Brexit boil and was the only chance at letting normal politics resume

This was the Brexit election, already gifted to the Tories by the fanaticism of the Remainer cabal in Parliament

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/12/2019 23:04

I warned that the centre had failed to win hearts and minds over the last 3 years. The battle for britains soul has been lost.

Apileofballyhoo · 12/12/2019 23:04

And you can't fight Brexit. Because it's not something real or concrete. There is no satisfactory Brexit.

placemats · 12/12/2019 23:05

I agree with Nicola Sturgeon. The UK is now grim. Good luck England and Wales.

Piggywaspushed · 12/12/2019 23:05

Fed up of waiting for Blyth now. May go to bed.

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 23:05

IDS safe apparently

Tis a very tall tree.

Apileofballyhoo · 12/12/2019 23:05

If only Remainer MPs had accepted reality at the 3rd attempt of May's WA

Agree again.

TiddleTaddleTat · 12/12/2019 23:05

Stinky my gin is 42% and doing the trick

Kuponut · 12/12/2019 23:06

Checking in here cos I missed this one of the election threads

tobee · 12/12/2019 23:06

My constituency (Tory remainer MP) still too close to call but saying Tory/Labour. As opposed to what the LibDem canvasser told me, which was definitely Tory/LibDem Accor to her! If LibDems come third and Swinson goes in her seat I will feel vindicated. My only crumb of comfort. 😑

DivisionBelles · 12/12/2019 23:06

Both Raab and Johnson 99% likely Conservative hold.

SingingBabooshkaBadly · 12/12/2019 23:06

Oh bloody hell Red. According to the link you posted there’s a 99%+ chance of a Conservative win here. Realistically, following that exit poll I shouldn’t have expected anything else but the Elphickes the Elphickes for the love of god. And against a really admirable Labour candidate as well.

I had been clinging to a tiny shred of hope that this seat would be one of the surprises.

Dusty01 · 12/12/2019 23:07

Is Squid about?

What was the poll she was looking at on Twitter? I'd be interested in knowing what that says now.

MarshaBradyo · 12/12/2019 23:07

I agree with the pp and Corbyn integral to big defeat, if the numbers are right

tobee · 12/12/2019 23:07

Dominic Cunt Raab laughing on Sky.

lonelyplanetmum · 12/12/2019 23:07

These are the qualities that the British electorate value:

•Deceit
•Infidelity
• Disloyalty
• Greed
• Selfishness
• Lack of compassion
• Secrecy
• Othering
• Superiority
• Lack of integrity
• Mendaciousness
• Callousness
• Immorality

Feel like I've done my DC a disservice by instilling the wrong values in them. I think for the youngest it's not too late.
I'm going to say I was wrong about the kindness and morality.

Now I'll gently teach her that to avoid being shafted she should be prepared to embrace the above qualities when required.

It appears we want a dog eat dog world, and my kids aren't going to be eaten.

Lewis Goodall @lewis_goodall
