Dh says he thinks plenty of Tory MPs will still make Johnson's life difficult after tonight. #overhopeful.

pinboard · 12/12/2019 21:28

Ach, you lot are luffly!
I am really sorry to do a personal blurt (I have done them before under my old username of StripeyChina, embarrassingly enough)
It was just Kafka-esque but didn't cry till I after I struggled out of the doors (the disabled auto-button thingy has been broken for 3 years!)

I have told my two kids, till they are bored silly, why it's so important to vote for those who you feel are most likely to treat all people with dignity, regardless of colour, religion, sex, ability or economic output.
I am in a better position than others I know - foodbank use has risen 400% in my town over the last 18m - there but for the grace of God

I have just opened a bar of chocolate. Ooops ;)

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 21:28

Alex Wickham@alexwickham
Tories still think Brexit Party will stop them from winning several Labour Leave seats

^Main Tory concern in last 24hrs has been that if majority is

I know! Let's have a general election every year! This time of year! Brilliant!

Stinkyeddie · 12/12/2019 21:31

I think one of the most depressing things is that the moderates/centrists from both parties are gone/going.

That leaves the rabid momentim and erg types.

Fun times.

tobee · 12/12/2019 21:32

Anyone else got sweaty palms? 😓💦

Tomorrowisanewday · 12/12/2019 21:32

I'm in a Tory/SNP constituency. I voted to avoid another independence referendum. In Scotland, we've had election uncertainty since 2011, and business (including mine) needs some semblance of certainty.

I've loved politics since I was 15, but havent been able to even think about it for the last six months. My 15 year old (left wing) self will never talk to me again

Piggywaspushed · 12/12/2019 21:32

But real left wingers don't have to be rabid you know. I am very left wing and I don't think I am rabid...

obviously ERGers are still rabid

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/12/2019 21:34

I'm left wing and not rabid. Centrists haven't helped themselves over the last 3 years.

Stinkyeddie · 12/12/2019 21:34

Left wing myself but momentum have done huge damage to labour

yolofish · 12/12/2019 21:34

I know! Let's have a general election every year! This time of year! Brilliant! tobee lol!!

yolofish · 12/12/2019 21:35

I always thought I was pretty centrist, but am certainly more left than I ever was, as the right get right-er.

Random18 · 12/12/2019 21:35

Tomorrow I know a few Scots who had similar dilemmas.

Family members included- I hope I managed to convince them I think BJ is the biggest threat to the union

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 21:35

Pippa Crerar@pippacrerar
Half an hour until the polls close. 👀Do the Tories manage to penetrate the "red wall"? Labour suggesting Midlands and North East looking bad but that Yorkshire is holding up. All eyes on London which could hold balance.

tobee · 12/12/2019 21:36

How slow are these last few minutes going?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 12/12/2019 21:37

The media damage labour. Momentum have nothing to do with it.

tobee · 12/12/2019 21:37

Ds says someone on twitter asking when Gibbo is going to release the exit poll on group chat? Grin

CrunchyCarrot · 12/12/2019 21:38

Settling in for the evening. Eyes on the clock.... 'the clock is ticking'...

placemats · 12/12/2019 21:38

Well at least the Red Devils are winning tonight!

Lucygoeswalkies · 12/12/2019 21:38

Less than half an hour until the exit polls. Feeling jittery. Torn between hope and despair. I might just keep the hope going for a few hours, and save the despair for tomorrow!

tobee · 12/12/2019 21:39

Those House of Commons votes look like nothing in terms of on the nerves front. Nothing I tell ya!

tobee · 12/12/2019 21:40

Can't write English 😑

YeOldeTrout · 12/12/2019 21:41

I'm supporting friend (who is having personal issues) & is a presiding officer at a poll station. I'm staying out of way in kitchen. It seems "steady" out there for sure!

Piggywaspushed · 12/12/2019 21:41

A Lab government might actually be the best thing for the Union. Scots for once might feel there is a government that sympathises with their values at least and listens. For too long, Scotland has been shafted with Westminster governments who are ideologically diametrically opposed. and so it came to pass that the SNP grew and grew.
