In the past I've noticed that itv declare a seat result before it's actually announced. Whereas bbc tend to wait til it's actually been announced by returning officer! Smile

countrygirl99 · 12/12/2019 21:06

I'm in North East Bedfordshire so the previously dumped by Bedford Richard Fuller is our Tory candidate. He was extremely smug and patronising at our village hustings, it didn't go down well. No doubt Burts 21k majority will see him through and the best we can hope is for it to be much reduced.

TiddleTaddleTat · 12/12/2019 21:07

Wow thanks !! I had no idea I could watch sky news either free online or on free view. Will do that then

Lucygoeswalkies · 12/12/2019 21:08

Thatsmysanta Thanks! I’ll see if I can find it.

TiddleTaddleTat · 12/12/2019 21:09

I'm drifting between feeling a glimmer of hope for a hung parliament then thinking a Tory landslide is a distinct possibility.
I'm surrounded by others that share my political views. Twitter all labour supporters posting pics of students in long queues.
Turnout might be high (or not?) but it's all about the labour leave areas and I'm not holding out hope for them.

OublietteBravo · 12/12/2019 21:10

@countrygirl99 - you have my sympathy. I’m so glad we dumped him as our MP last time around. (I’m hoping we stay red this time around and don’t flip back to blue).

Alex Wickham@alexwickham
Tories and LibDems both saying Labour's ground game in London is absolutely vast and they have flooded activists to all seats, knocking up every door

LibDems fear Labour have stopped Luciana Berger winning in Finchley and possibly Chuka Umunna in Cities — keeping both seats Tory

Correction. LDs and Labour couldn't get their act together...

Not unexpected.

Looks on target for 30 - 40 seat Tory maj.

I have Labour posters in the bay window and a stand for the Labour PPC, and so far this evening I've had 10 car horns beeping as they went past. Even if she doesn't win, I'm letting her know that this has never happened before.

It's a very safe Tory seat but I think she will do well.

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 21:16

John Stevens @johnestevens
Lib Dems worried Jamie Stone is in trouble in Caithness, Sutherland & Easter Ross, one of their four Scottish seats

Adam Payne @adampayne26
Labour sources in Canterbury say it's a lot closer than what YouGov's latest MRP projected (12% lead for Labour) — but believe that Rosie Duffield is going to keep hold of the seat

I can hardly bear the wait - have already eaten my supplies!

Stinkyeddie · 12/12/2019 21:22

I've eaten a whole pack of biscuits

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 21:22

Laura Jayes @ljayes
Former High Commissioner Mike Rann says his sense of things is that the Conservatives will get a majority of 30. He thinks it’s unlikely that Boris Johnson will lose his seat. @SkyNewsAust

ClashCityRocker · 12/12/2019 21:22

It's sounding rather grim.

Piggywaspushed · 12/12/2019 21:23

Oh country I feel your pain. I am not going to say things I know about Fuller and how but he is not a good man. Alastair Burt is. It's sad.

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 21:24

Alex Wickham@alexwickham
Tories still think Brexit Party will stop them from winning several Labour Leave seats

^Main Tory concern in last 24hrs has been that if majority is

Ds said lots of his mates voting Labour in Canterbury!

I'm pacing my wine intake now!

colouringinpro · 12/12/2019 21:24

Thanks Red. Needed a reality check (not being sarcastic at all, have spent too much time in my Twitter bubble...)

TiddleTaddleTat · 12/12/2019 21:24

How can they have this information already, RTB?
Does counting of votes begin before polls close?! Sorry if that's a fun question

TiddleTaddleTat · 12/12/2019 21:24

Dim not fun!

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 21:25

Pippa Crerar@pippacrerar
Rattled? Labour sources think it will be very tight - but that Boris Johnson will just hang on.

OP posts:
yolofish · 12/12/2019 21:25

I just hope that everyone might start being kinder to each other after this shit show. I know that's a faint hope if the Tories get in, but honestly, wouldnt it just be nicer if people cared about those less well off/physically able/mentally ill. sorry, stupid pipe dream, had too much Wine and will have more in anticipation.

Stinkyeddie · 12/12/2019 21:26

❤❤❤❤❤❤

ohwheniknow · 12/12/2019 21:26

A GE result not going in the way I would have wished was a lot less distressing when I was still labouring under the illusion MPs acted in the national interest rather than their own personal interest.
