Keiran Pedley @keiranpedley
If turnout is high it doesn’t surprise me. 65% told us it was ‘very important’ to them who won in our final poll - highest ever since we started tracking in ‘87. Never mind the cold and wet. If people care they will vote.

I could see boldover going blue

Dennis Skinner should have gone long ago

Stinkyeddie · 12/12/2019 20:08

Bolsover rather

Hearing London is looking 'very difficult' for the Tories

Told Tory activists from all over capital - including some from marginal Chingford - were pulled into Chipping Barnet & Putney this afternoon

The phrase 'a majority of one is still a majority' is doing the rounds

Long time lurker here. Feeling sick, also have a bit interview tomorrow so feeling super sick Envy(not envy). If the result is bad I'm hoping to get some tears out in the morning and then put on my interview game face for the afternoon.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but if there is a hung parliament what is likely to happen? Labour and Lib Dem or will BJ just throw the DUP a ton of extra cash and we'll have the same again? OR Tory/brex, is this possible since brex are likely to have few to no seats?

BlackCatFan · 12/12/2019 20:10

*big interview

BlackCatFan · 12/12/2019 20:12

Saddens me greatly about Bolsover 💔

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 20:12

Putney and Chipping Barnet going red tallies with Tories less than + 11

Thats in line with the last YouGov MRP too.

Just saying.

"Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but if there is a hung parliament what is likely to happen? Labour and Lib Dem or will BJ just throw the DUP a ton of extra cash and we'll have the same again?"

I suspect the DUP will tell BJ exactly where and how far up he can shove his bribes. Once bitten, twice shy!

Stinkyeddie · 12/12/2019 20:14

Yes. Never thought I'd see so many northern/midland ex mining towns vote tory.

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 20:15

Steven Swinford@steven_swinford
To a certain extent the Tories have priced in losses in London - they're hoping the fall of the Red Wall will compensate for losses in Remain voting areas

Early signs are that they're doing better than expected in Leave-voting Labour marginals, particularly in North East

Tbh this doesn't surprise me either though.

Give the DUP enough cash, they'll take it!!

I'm really scared. Not to de-rail or do a poor-me but I went into my Jobcentre today to ask a Qu. There were 11 staff and 2 security guys, and me. I was given a leaflet with some DWP numbers on and told to 'go home and phone them'. I said: 'but I'm here now and I'd be really grateful if you could tell me?' She said: 'I'm not the right person you need the DWP'. She had a DWP name badge on, which I mentioned. She then said: 'do I need to ask security to ask you to leave?'.
Now, I appreciate it is probably not a nice job to do, but I am 52, on double crutches (long term disabled) I honestly was super - polite and didt appreciate 2 burly security guys heading my way. I was asking if a move would tip me from my legacy benefits onto UC or not? (as my private landlord freezing cold accom is now 15miles from kids ASD kids new mainstream school (old one closed and cant get an EHCP) and no transport for them so I really have to move but ANY move (even going back to my abusive exH) may tip me onto UC.

All 4 grandparents, and exH are voing Tory. I just don't know why.

Sorry, I know this is about polling etc. My station was v v quiet.
I am going to stay up for the exit poll and then try to set my alarm for about 4am. Meantime, I am praying for this country to see sense.

Makinglists · 12/12/2019 20:16

Lurker here and hoping, hoping that things can be different....

dontcallmelen · 12/12/2019 20:16

Yy will be a sad day if Bolsover turns another colour.
Thank you the explanation re speakers seat, I didn’t realise that independents could stand.

prettybird · 12/12/2019 20:16

I'm going to be spending this election evening - hopefully for the first and last time - decorating the Christmas tree Xmas Grin

Tanith · 12/12/2019 20:17

I am a soppy old sap but I am in tears at this
mobile.twitter.com/hashtag/youthquake

My God! Those queues! ShockGrin

I have never, ever seen the like in this country. I see they've started an Oldquake as well.

dontcallmelen · 12/12/2019 20:18

@pinboard I’m so very sorry💐

RedToothBrush · 12/12/2019 20:19

Johnstevens @johnestevens
Hearing Labour has given up hope in Bassetlaw, Don Valley and Stoke

London generally good for Labour aside from Dagenham and Eltham, I'm told

Unsurprising but not great news. That's the Tory +11 Mark and Stoke Central stayed red on the yougov MRP.

Been enjoying being away from thread as it was taking up too much of my time/obsessive. Been thinking about nice people on here though!

Had a LibDem canvasser come to my door a few minutes before I went to vote who told me my vote for Labour was "a vote for the Tories" Hmm I said o was quite happy with my vote and as a parting shot said "ask Jo Swinson what a woman is!" Think she ticked me off on her clipboard as a nasty woman after that.

My mum says that "Boris Johnson's dog doesn't look the slightest bit interested in him" Grin

My ds sent me a pic of a huge queue of voters at his campus polling station in the pouring rain!

I feel sick.

Fuck elections 🍷

chomalungma · 12/12/2019 20:19

Got the wine in and my little list of seats to watch out for.

All set in for the evening.

elmosducks · 12/12/2019 20:20

It is not a night to be on a diet.

(Second round of cheese on toast, plus booze. All due to nerves)

53rdWay · 12/12/2019 20:21

Am I just driving myself to madness by trying to work out how it's going from Twitter? Half of it's "massive turnout, Tories panicking, real fears BJ might lose his seat" and the other half is "low turnout, really bleak for Labour, all the NE is going Tory."
