I thought Jo Swinson coped with the Andrew Neil interview well, and like many have said, at least she turned up.

Name drop alert re Hugh Grant. I worked with his mother Fyn at a Speech and Language Unit near Isleworth. She was without question one of the loveliest woman I've ever met and was so patient with the children It was about 1986 when Hugh was in lower budget films. They weren't well off at that point and she described how she put on the same old hat every time she went to her sons' friends weddings.

Oh, that's a great anecdote. Especially about the hat.

Motheroffourdragons, I have noticed Tory voters try to be very humorous...they regularly pretend to laugh and be breezy and they hope to show some kind of contrast between carefree Tory voters and the serious, concerned, sensitive, would-die-before-voting-Tory posters. It is so telling I think about their mindset, but not in the way they hope.

Because if you're not getting angry, you're not paying attention.

I honestly think that only older feminists and those with teen or older daughters can see the danger.
My DH and I are livid about self ID
our Uni age kids think we are over reacting
many friends in their 20's think we need to "get more woke"
but all of our friends with daughters see the risk
also
a couple of old style (full surgery) transgender friends are very anti self ID
because they also view it is as blokes in frocks

many many sites have shut down all debate
MNHQ have been fab at keeping the this is crap door open
and in 15 years time our daughters will thank us for being so bloody minded

Have you ever considered that some people on MN haven't got a massive issue with this but don't want to derail these type of threads because there are other issues apart from trans issues. Not everyone on these threads are as anti-trans as others.

There are plenty of threads on MN to discuss trans issues.

I'm concerned that there is still not enough knowledge about the importance of tactical voting.

And, having thought about it all day, I am now very pleased that Hugh Grant has lent his profile to try and raise awareness of the need to vote tactically.

You might as well vote for the Consevatives or the Brexit party because they probably have the trans issues you support there.

There is very little mention about LGBT rights in their manifesto.
