miljah please stop being so provocative.

You’re goading on here then reporting back on the other thread.

It’s not very dignified

We disagree - adding to the ‘them and us mentality’ really isn’t helpful

Bearbehind · 28/10/2019 19:54

mummmy I have to ask - how do you feel about the fact that BJ didn’t deliver your magical no deal even though you were so convinced he would?

yellowallpaper · 28/10/2019 19:58

I know. Let's have a referendum about whether we should have a second referendum. That way everyone's happy

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 20:00

On that note bear, I note Bojo has specifically said now that No deal is off the table. Interesting tactic there. Does he mean it? Does he not? Should I ask the 8 ball again? Grin

Personally, I believe no-deal was always a high stakes poker play, and to some level it worked, (despite the parliamentary handcuffs - not a pun Wink) because he was able to negotiate an improved deal imo. I know that not everyone agrees that it is an improved deal. However, from a personal pov It’s enough for me, as a fair compromise. Although, I’m just one internet randomer, so my opinion only really counts for me and I appreciate that rightly not everyone agrees!

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 20:01

Hahaha @yellowallpaper.

We could just have referenda on all future referenda ad infintum. What fun! GrinConfused

Thread about how surreal the debate was:

Bear to be honest, we can say what the heck we like, but until the deal is voted and signed off the EU can still tell us to bugger off.

All we can do is the same as before sit and wait.

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 20:10

Ooooh a link dusty? Not sure I know how to use those? Rare in these parts. Wink

Excellent summary, interesting that we raised many of those same points here during the debate. The US pharma one passed me by, that must have been during my cigarette break... but how fucking bonkers. 😬

He is a lame dick Opposition leader...

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 20:11

Shit. Meant to say lame duck! Grin lol. Meh, I’ll let it stand.

yellowallpaper · 28/10/2019 20:11

epic the way the Brexit debacle is going, it feels like infinity and beyond is already here

DustyDiamond · 28/10/2019 20:11

Ooooh a link dusty?

😂😘

Bearbehind · 28/10/2019 20:15

Bear to be honest, we can say what the heck we like, but until the deal is voted and signed off the EU can still tell us to bugger off.

But they won’t because they would force us to proactively choose no deal

Aren’t you furious that BJ hasn’t delivered when you were so convinced he would?

mummmy2017 · 28/10/2019 20:17

Boris in 100 days has done more than TM in 1000.
With Corbyn blocking everything, just how can you blame others?

Epicwaffle · 28/10/2019 20:19

I stand by my much much earlier point from bazillions of threads ago, that I think that the reason that corbyn will not stand down either as leader or from his position , is that he wants brexit to happen. He just doesn’t want it to be recorded in history as him that made it so. Because Optics. Future elections, labours future, the rescuing hero etc... massive miscalculation on his part imo, but there you have it.

He has been an ardent eurosceptic for years.

Bearbehind · 28/10/2019 20:22

Goodness me, Cummings really is a fucking genius

You were the most convinced that we’d no deal on 31st mummy yet you’ve just rolled over and accepted were not and that it’s everyones fault except Boris

Amazing

howabout · 28/10/2019 20:26

Epic if JC stands down all the problems he is blamed for need a new scapegoat and high chance of even worse civil war over direction of non-Brexit policy. Also no solution to where Labour stand on Brexit - the North/South seat divide persists regardless of who the MPs are.

If Labour is decimated the rump will be more Remain and more Centrist but I doubt either will make them more electable given how London and metropolitan concentrated their base would be.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 28/10/2019 20:27

Boris has done everything possible to get Brexit down, I dont think any Leaver will blame him for what has happened. Because of how far he has got us he will still be the peoples champion in a Dec election to GET BREXIT DONE vs scummy MPs in Parliament.

Parker231 · 28/10/2019 20:29

Mummmy - Boris has done nothing. Lots of lying and getting votes rejected. He’ll go down in history as one of the most unsuccessful PM’s. His reputation is the pits - unlawfully proroguing and refusing to attend committee hearings for starters.
Btw - the UK is still in the EU - I wonder which ditch Boris is hiding in!

howabout · 28/10/2019 20:31

I don't agree with pp prorogation comments. In fact given the lack of constructive input from HoP since their return proroguing looks to have been entirely sensible. I naively thought when they took Govt to Court they actually had a plan of how to proceed if Parliament were recalled.

mummmy2017 · 28/10/2019 20:32

Bear just what else could he do?
The EU were not far of saying .. go
I am much more upset at the arses sitting on seats in Parliament who caused all this.
Maybe they will carry on like this till there is no time left.
Looks like Merc... Is on her arse too.

Bearbehind · 28/10/2019 20:35

The EU were not far of saying .. go

They really weren’t - they never will

They won’t give BJ the pleasure

That’s what you’ve never understood - no deal has to come from our side and even Boris know what a fucking disaster it will be which is why he won’t do it of his own accord

Parker231 · 28/10/2019 20:38

Howabout - it’s irrelevant as to whether parliament had any plans, Boris was found to have acted unlawfully by proroguing Parliament - he did it to avoid discussions on Brexit. Perhaps if he hadn’t wasted everyone’s time, appropriate Brexit discussions could have taken place to meet his timescales. Problem was he had a crap deal and didn’t want to face MP’s and have to discuss his lack of progress. He’s messed up with own agenda.

mummmy2017 · 28/10/2019 20:46

No on can agree.
Just how far and long can that can be kicked.

Walkingdeadfangirl · 28/10/2019 20:57

Boris was found to have acted unlawfully by proroguing Parliament - he did it to avoid discussions on Brexit
I think he did it to make a statement to the EU that he was dam well playing hard ball. And that sort of attitude was what enabled him to smash open the withdrawal agreement and rip out the backstop. He gets things done.

Supposedly remainers wanted prorogation cancelled so they could discuss Brexit but it just showed that they had nothing new to say about Brexit. Can anyone at all think of anything Brexit related that remainers did during that cancelled prorogation period? It made zero difference.
