I wish we could have our own led by donkeys... It's not as if we havant got enough quotes...
I agree with all of Epic's earlier post about why we don't have visible & vocal demonstrations of support.
Further, I would argue that the anti-Brexit brigade are actually helping the Brexit camp.
Wrt viral vids of lying MPs etc - these are widely shared on social media and have a long reach across the ages. The hysteria of anti-brexiters & the ridiculous painting faces blue, draped in flags & prancing around are laughed at by people like my kids & their friends as well as the wider age range & working class demographic
Older people like my parents who only rarely go on social media other than to stay in touch see the mainstream media though - full of vocal anti-Brexiters - demos, smug MPs talking about their latest Brexit-blocking manoeuvre, high profile mocking of brexiters etc and also the constant refrain of 'they didn't know what they were voting for' on QT or posh people banging on about "but who will serve us in pret?" Being called gammons with gleeful delight, thick, racist etc. This turns them away from pro EU arguments & further towards feeling alienated.
The mocking of Brexiters is ubiquitous - see the Brexit march from the north east to London - a bunch of hardy working class folk trudged for miles, joined along the way by small groups to show support. As evidenced by a previous poster, this was mocked by anti-Brexit people, but the optics to Brexit voting, non-protesting, non-vocal ordinary people are that they do not matter other than as objects of derision.
All of these messages cut through psychologically & stick.
So my view is pretty much that of 'let them get on with it, they're just playing to their own in-group'
(Sorry if thread has moved on significantly, I was part way through this post hours ago and got caught up in something else)
